  1. Hi Nightrider haven't seen u at Stooges in awhile. Your buddy Joe looks to be having a sick time touring the west coast on a motorcycle

Usually, at the tavern. I have night class on wednesdays now till 10, so I will have to pass through Stooges again need to change up the scenery anyway. Yea, my wingman Jesus is living the dream or JEWPOO or whatever you kids are calling it these days.

  2. My plans include hitting Blue at least 3-4 times a week, annual Utah trip, hopefully a long weekend trip to Stowe and Jay Peak, hang out at Stooges Karaoke more often, and maybe get in on some this parking lot action I hear about and meet some more PASRs. Oh, and post more.

  3. Just my .02 but, I hear great things about Venture... my friends who tour out in SLC all ride Venture. I agree with Dan, getting a decent splitboard setup isn't going to be "cheap" you might as well make sure you are getting a quality board that is going to last and best suit your needs.

  4. no negative shit in here. drink on.

Not trying to fuck with your good time just a reminder to stay safe. Drink on

I Never like to hear shit like that, and it never gets any easier to hear it either.... ++vibes++ for his family and friends... Hope he's getting pow shots upstairs.

I got myself a reminder today just how dangerous this sport is...

Skiing down powder country and caught a hidden rock which sent me airborne headfirst directly into a big ass boulder.

Thank God I was wearing a helmet, and thankfully it did what it was designed to do because today could've easily went a lot worse.

Skied away with a headache, a stiff neck, and a little red mark on the dome....

Shit man glad to hear you are alright!

  5. Just got a call from my brother in SLC a friend of mine and my brother's touring partner died in a slide today in BCC. Be careful out there you guys loving all the pics and stoke but just be careful if you are doing any side/backcountry. I am bumming about my broken wrist keeping me home but Alecs reminds me how lucky I am. RIP Alecs we love you and you will be missed.

  6. A word to the wise since vinny must not be interested in my offer, guest services has to call in the card to make sure it is legitimate before they give you a ticket and are also asking for ID to match up with the purchase name. They didnt at first but jfbb and Camelback are checking for sure, havent been to the rest yet but you can definitely take those off the list if you dont have a fake vinny ID. I was hoping the ny mountains wouldnt check for a 50 buck gamble, buyer beware.

Was unaware of this..... How do you know this is what they are doing? I have no intention of ripping anyone off man.... I dont see how they can deny you a lift ticket with the card, what if it was purchased as a gift??

  7. hey all broke my wrist the other day so I wont be able to use these lift tix. Originally paid $99 for it so this is a fair deal since I haven't used any of the tix yet....

    you get

    2 JFBB lift tix

    1 plattekill

    1 camelback

    1 sno mountain

    1 greek peak

    1shawnee

    1 mountain creek

    1 ski sawmill

only blackout for remainder of the season is 2/18-2/20 let me know if interested.

  8. Choosing between sleet and skiing on groomers or snow and skiing on fresh pow in the trees / Elevator / Risk it...with no lift lines...

    DUH!! JF For the Win!!

well, when you put it that way.... would be my first time riding at JF what are the newbie tips? All the good stuff on the east mountain from what I gather, no?

  9. Any suggestions for goggle lenses for super flat light? Had a wicked time on one slope in Park City because the light was so flat. Took the goggles off (had ones on for a sunny day) and still couldn't see anything. Just yellow?

I picked up a pair of Oakley Hi-Intensity Yellow at the beginning of the season, they are amazing in low/flat light conditions..

  10. I was also at Hunter yesterday. I have a friend who just bought a house in Monroe Ny, so I figured we would pair the visit with a trip up to Hunter. Left his place at 7:00 AM, pulled into the parking lot just past 8am. Bought our $28 lift tix, and headed over the the line at the six pack around 8:45, I would say at that point we were about the 15th chair heading up, and it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be.

Drank a Left hand Sawtooth ale on the way up to celebrate day 1 one of the season. At the summit conditions gave the appearance of looking pretty nice, however one you got to the top of hellgate that all changed very quickly... There wasn't a place on the trail that wasn't covered in baseball sized death cookies, and the "ungroomed" snow on the side of the trail was actually a solid plate of sheer ice. As guitar explained above, they were only open down to F lift.

My buddy and I took 6 laps, and by that point the conditions were just getting dangerous, the slopes more crowded, and they had fired the snow guns back up around 10:30am at the summit and some mid mountain. My friend said he wanted to take a beer break down at the car so we got in the very long line to download the B lift. As we were riding down we noticed some just decided to ski and ride down on thin cover, we were bummed we waited in line instead of doing the same.

Overheard Hunter employees joking around about the how the line to get down was way longer than the lift line to go up, and once in the parking lot we cracked some beers when another employee joked that was the best thing to be doing with the snow conditions on the mountain. We decided it wasn't worth the time to upload for a few more runs which assumed had only degraded more.

A car of NYers pulled in and we sold our lift tix to them in the parking lot 2 for 20$ before we rolled out at about 11:30am. Was great to get out on the snow, I am not knocking on Hunter too bad because its opening day but those conditions were just really rough.

EDIT: LOL at that AZ report. Good conditions? haha! As I said I am aware it was the first day and conditions wouldn't be that good, but I wouldn't even come close to calling them good! Good thing I downloaded before the lift broke down, can't even imagine how long the download line was after that.
