Pizza Wedge (2/10)

  1. I got a pair of tele skis, tried them out, and realized it wasnt for me. Plus, I need the cash, and am looking to unload them ASAP. They're Atomic Tour Carv Alpin 177cm with Black Diamond tele bindings mounted. They have normal wear and tear, and ski fine. Also, I have a pair of Scarpa boots (model T3 I believe), size 27.5. My Nordica Litech 10 is a 28.5, but the tele boots a size smaller fit me fine. If you're interested, you could reply on here, but a better bet would be to email me at XSKI712@att.net. Skis alone are $120, boots alone are $140, and together they're yours for $225. -Kevin
  2. Just curious, whats the word on opening day park features at the PA resorts? After skiing the same trail for 2 hours, its nice to have at least a rail or box to hit... -kevin
  3. too bad the superpipe could have, and did, set roundtop head and shoulders above the rest of PA. if they had committed to it, it could have been a great asset. but whatever, over and done now. plus, we all know joe will crank out a sick park in its place, so its all good.
  4. whats the weekend outlook for BC? i'm a roundtop pass holder and loyal patron, but things arent lookin so hot for the final weekend. I just want to know if it'll be worth paying out of pocket to head up to BC this weekend. mainly, i'm interested in how the pipe looks. another dilema would be where my next years patronage will belong. I've considered getting a bear creek night pass, and have been weighing my options. when in peak conditions (with the superpipe open) roundtop goes toe to toe with anywhere i've ridden (besides VT). however, bear creek seems to have a little more as far as park things go. one thing i'm concered about though is that bear creek just doesnt seem to have the terrain that roundtop does, outside the park. i'd really hate to give up ramrod and gunbarrel just for a few good hits. just curious and wanted some opinions. be fair too, just becuase you're bear creek locals, dont be biased. thanks kevin
  5. joe, any idea what the order of events is gonna be? also, is the halfpipe going to replace the superpipe? just kinda wondering when the info was gonna come out, what with asking off of work and all. thanks kevin
  6. quick suggestion, for the reg. pipe...maybe put up a little fencing at the bottom by the incubator park to keep passersby at a safe distance. i've seen/been part of many close calls when airing out at the bottom, and thought that might be a good way to control it...just a thought
  7. well thats about as much as i figured. you should check out his latest rant, about the SP being leveled as a way to wipe out all dave gruber influence at roundtop
  8. joe g, this question is mostly directed at you. i realize that the superpipe is a lost cause for this year. but my question is in regards to its future. JB is blowing about how he has confirmation that the SP is gonna be filled in next year, and i was just wondering if he knew what he was talkin about, or if he was just talking out of his ass like usual. IMHO, i dont think that's such a bad idea. it seemed to be no more than a money pit (no pun intended), due to the fact that most Roundtopers (myself included) are just getting the hang of the small pipe. but anyway, i just wanted to hear straight from the horses mouth what the deal was, if you're allowed to let such information go.
  9. in just saying 'blue', you might want to be a bit more specific. Blue Marsh, a 300' vertical gem just outside Reading closed up shop and sold all their goods back in November (thats cats, skis, lifts, shacks, snowtubes, you name it, they auctioned it). I don't know what became of the property, but i'd be interested to find out. this dinky little hill holds a special place with me, becuase back in third grade, on a slushy march day, i clicked into a pair of skis for my first time and was hooked from then on. i never went back, and now kind of regret it, i wish i could have given it one more go...maybe sometime when it snows this winter, i'll head on up and give it a good hike, for old time's sake... haha, sorry, got a little emotional there for a second...
  10. so what do those convert to in MPH? i could probably sit down and figure it out, but i'd rather not, since one of yous could probably just tell me. thats always been a question thats really bothered me, is how fast i'm actually going...
