  1. I'm thinking about heading up to JF from Philly this weekend, but i am a little concerned about snow conditions with all the rain we have been getting

It says on website they are 100% open and got email saying they will be blowing snow.

can anyone who has been up there recently provide a conditions report?

    Thanks in advance!

Snow should be pretty good. It's been snowing all evening up here nothing like major just I'd say a coating at least. We're blowing snow tomorrow night across the mountain. Judging from the weather this weekend it'll be more on the spring like conditions side of things. I'll be out on hill more tomorrow and can see what it'll be like. We still have snow but blowing to freshen it up after the rain.

  2. There are cliffs at JF???

If you know where to look I'll show you anywhere from a 5 foot drop upwards of 25 feet. Whether or not someone would ever risk dropping them is another story but might need some tree clearing to get it good and a ton of snow.

Though I wouldn't call the Elevator a cliff at all, just steep.

  3. I wouldn't call conditions prime on the Elevator right now but good enough to send it for the shot. Worked with a buddy of mine on this today. Didn't watch anyone else drop it but you sure do get lots of looks blasting into it. Runout is covered but icy.

  4. Truth.  JFBB has really been lacking in that area for a few years now.

It's a task at times between two mountains being one person during busy or even times but I love it, such a diverse range between the resorts. Glad you guys enjoy the updates, easily the best and most core group to get feedback and chat with.

  5. Race nets.  Soooo, closing down half of East Mt tomorrow for the race team?

^^ this. it was totally aweful when they started to do this last season. we complained numerous times to the race coach and management that closing off Floyd's unfairly limits the amount of expert terrain available to the public. also, the team frequently kept the trail closed well into the afternoon, after there training was done. very poor form. the mtn should really offer a discount on the lift tix the days the racers are on that trail.

Will all of East be open Sunday?

Yes Telstar and Floyd's will be closed until no later than 11am Saturday and Sunday for yup you guessed it the race team... It's unfortunate but holding them to strict times of usage to make sure it doesn't durn into an all day affair or even an afternoon thing. It's either we close Floyd's and Telstar for a shorter time or close Challenge for a longer period of time during the day. It sucks I know, I've even have had my fair share of times being used as 'race gate' by some of the kids while I was shooting photos.

  6. I wasn't there, I mighta broken 104 Kph a few years ago when AJ brought his radar gun. We need to bust that out again sometime. I was hitting 6 g's on Main Street yesterday, Almost pulled a Bode on one ski.

Race nets are being set on the side of Floyd's as we speak, time to have no regrets and just send it. Safety first right?

  7. Weed.... You're definitely the best Social Media guy they've had..... Thanks for the updates keep em coming

Thanks, it's trying at times but I love doing it. Will be mainly focused at Boulder the next day or so for TransAM. Calling for some snow showers Sunday so it'll be back to East on Sunday and Monday.

  8. First day on skis. Kind of warm and quiet on the slopes. Lots of snow slopes are fairly wide unlike last year when they started off narrow and the edges were never filled in.

Nice day, legs are noodles though

  9. Props on the new web site and on being the only place in the Poconos 100% open for the holiday weekend. Thinking I may head there Sunday as the holiday weekend lines are often less bad than at other places. How is coverage in the trees looking?

One thing I have never got about the JF trail map is it looks like there are 4 trails down the lower part of East Mt. and I only ever see 2. What's the deal with that?

On the trail map it's places where Risk It, Elevator, and various other double black glades were marked. They're still there but it's best not to mark them as there are cliffs that need a decent amount to hit. Coverage in trees on East is thin, best bet is off of Challenge there's coverage and along with some off of Thunderbolt.

  10. I heard it on the radio but couldn't find it on their website that's why I asked. I'll wait for ried to chime in (not that I don't trust you Dan)

Yes it is BOGO on Sundays but you have to stop at a participating LukOil and get the voucher. There are blackout dates listed on the voucher such as next weekend with it being a holiday.

  11. How's Floyds looking??

Thunderbolt opens today half groomed half whales for your fun and enjoyment. Exhibition tomorrow, and Tubing on Friday. Blasting away on Jane's Lane as well as Sno Chute, Lightning, and River Shot on East. Floyd's haven't fired on yet but should be an easy opening with the HKD's lining it. ONE Park build tonight. Crew continuing to work harder than ever to get the most and best snow down.
