  1. aww darn I didn't see this post before I passed out last night. I was in a blue Jacket / black pants today with a black helmet. Was going very slow to try to practice my form and get my legs used to skiing rather than snowboarding. All in all a good day. I got 7 runs in and only wiped out twice. Not to mention I didn't have a raccoon try to attack me on the slope this time 🤣 I may try to ditch work and head out on Friday, since next weekend I have to play dad's Uber service and pick both my daughters up at the airport on subsequent days because they are coming home from college for the holiday.
  2. In for tomorrow. I'll probably be the one trying to get his bearing again on ski's. I ended last season with a badly bruised shoulder from a low speed fall so slow and steady wins the race here. Especially since this will be my first outing since March.
  3. Nope, not a troll post. It was real. If you look down on the twitter feed there is also a video of the Raccoon drinking at the lodge (that my wife took)
  4. Yeah, I was thinking the same a well. Also, it cam at me making this awful shriek.
  5. I have boarded for a long time but decided to try a ski lesson with my wife yesterday at Blue. It was awesome, however while I was practicing on the beginner hill I had a raccoon run at me then pass directly in front of me just as I was getting up from a fall. It then ran towards a mom and her daughter who i yelled to and I think the mother hit it with her pole and it took off under the lift loading area. My wife was already back at the lodge outside having a drink. When I texted her to tell her about it she told me I was full of shit.....then the raccoon showed up there, drank a left over drink and ran inside. It was pretty wild. Did anyone else encounter rocky raccoon?
  6. Thank you. I usually ride Camelback but I went to Blue this weekend for the first time and absolutely loved it. Aside from the raccoon that literally ran at me :)
  7. I'm new here but may as well contribute. Arrived with my daughter and her boyfriend at 9am almost on the dot. This was their first time at Camelback but not mine. Waited about 20minutes while my daughters boyfriend picked up his rentals and then headed directly to Sullivan. There was a small line but we were able to grab a chair about 5 minutes after getting on line. As we were riding the chair up we heard it. The sound of ski's and boards digging into really icy hardpack. Once we got up to we decided to take it slow and start on Birches. The conditions were quite icy on Birches and Meadows. At some points it was like snowboarding on an ice cube. I guess this is to be expected, since it had just finished raining a few hours before and the temp rapidly dropped. Conditions were mostly the same throughout the day, though things seemed to soften up a bit after 12pm. We started noticing real crowds at about 11 and by 1pm the lines were longish but mostly moving fast. However, the line at Stevenson was especially discombobulated. It got better once they started having a ranger direct the line and loading. By 2:30 we had hit 12 different runs and decided to call it a day. Especially the boyfriend who was using rental gear that was killing his feet. Overall, not a bad day but not a great one either, just sort of meh conditions but a bunch of fun runs were had.
