Making Turns

Making Turns (3/10)

  1. We need some Step ups / step downs or other types of hits. Rails are cool, but 17 rails/boxes and no jumps is a little out of proportion. What are your plans for a jump line this year? Make sure your landings are long and steep and whoever builds them knows their shit.
  2. Just wanted to start a thread about the lack of quality and effort put into camekbacks terrain park this year. I've noticed that they state they have 6 terrain areas on their website and there is only basically 1 trail with poorly constructed features and terrible jumps. I have a season pass here and have had one for the past 3 years, but I may be reconsidering for next year. Their jumps have no landings and aren't constructed properly. I've noticed they don't blow additional snows needed to open the big jump line and it just seems like they don't give a shit! Any insight as to why there is no effort in this area??? Steve
  3. Anyone know the deal with the lack of a terrain park at Camelback? They dont have any descent jumps at all when i went up this past sunday. Are they planning on building any any time soon? Also i saw they put their big air bag in on Sunday and were doing test runs. I was told that the only option was to buy 3 hits for $10. They said there was no option for someone with a season pass buying a air bag season pass like every other resort that has a big air bag. That is pretty shitty if true. If anyone has any info on these two issues please hit me up and let me know. I am trying CB out this year with a full season pass and right now im not too very happy. Thanks, Steve
  4. I saw on camelbacks website that they are getting a 50' Big air bag. Does anyone know when this is going down?
  5. I will start off by at least giving sno a little credit for at least trying to make a terrain park. However here is what I have found to need improvement. 1. The jumps are OK, however there is NO pop of the jumps there need to be lips on these things to make it easier to do tricks. 2. I saw the "park crew" guys putting the blue shit on the jumps and they put it all over the entire jump. These guys have no idea what they are doing. There were people sking that ate shit and ended up looking like smurfs! 3. Back to the park crew. They are out there regrooming all the time which is good. However they have NO idea what they are doing. The takeoffs onto almost every rail is too close to the rail. There needs to be a gap especially if the rail is 5' long like most of the rails at sno. 4. I think if sno gets at least one person that knows how to ride the park actually work on the park crew this may help the final product of what they are putting out. Feel free to tell me im wrong, but these are my opinions and i could definately put more down if I felt like it.
  6. Just got back from sno and the conditions are pretty nice with the dusting we just got. Once again, I noticed the trail that the "park" is supposed to be on has not been blown on all week. They could have blown enough snow over the course of the week to have jumps built. It looks like they dont even care about the terrain park aspect of the mountain. If anybody is on here from the "park" crew, please talk to your superviser and get something started here. I would think people that are in the park crew would want the park to be nice and have some pride in the shit they built. At this point, you need to shut that trail down for a week and blast the shit out of it to get a good base. Build the 3 or 4 jump jumpline and put in rails between the jumps so that everything flows together nicely. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER BIATCHES!!!! Myself and others that had hope for sno this year are giving up after this season if things dont turn around and turn around quickly. Peace!
  7. Thats exactly how I feel!! They either have to step up to the plate or go out of business. It just sucks that my season pass is to sno right now and they suck major cock.
  8. I skied up at Sno mtn yesterday after coming back from the parents in Harrisburg. I was hoping to see a full park settup. Unfortunately what I saw jump wise was the biggest joke I have seen since like 95' in the world of terrain parks. The jumps were the most hilarious things i have ever seen. Did anyone that actually know how to hit jumps see these things. This really disappoints me as I bought a pass at sno and like to split my time 50/50 between park and all mtn. skiing. Who if anyone is in charge of the park and what the hell are they doing? I would love to hear feedback on what the deal is with the park at sno. It was promising when they paid Planet a few years back, now it looks like they just gave up! I will post pictures of the jumps so you guys can laugh tomorrow when im up there. I skiied at ski roundtop outside of Harrisburg a few days earlier. This mountain has 500' vertical and is 2 hours south of sno. They only have like 10 trails and have a descent settup with 2 nice tables.
  9. Any word on when sno is going to start building jumps?
  10. Hopefully they make enough money to get properly insured so that they can build a real park where people can progress!!
  11. Ha ha ha... It looks even worse on video. That looks F'n sad right????
  12. Is there anyone on here that actually works for sno mountain? I have a few questions about the park. It takes about three days of blowing non stop to make enough snow to form a huge table, stepup, stepdown for pa standards. The resort has been open for Well over a month and sno continues to put up UNSAFE jumps where the landings are not steep or long enough, not to mention they are old school straight up tables. They should utilize the natural lay of the slope like planet did when they built their 3 jump line a few years back. There should be a nice booter right before that straight box is right before the drop off half way down the hill. Yeah a box is cool, but you could save a ton of snow by utilizing that slope as a landing. Sno obviously needs to step the FUCK up. My moms an english teacher and could make a better park setup. I do freestyle and all mountain skiing, but like i said b4 if sno doesnt step up their park im out. IM not even a hard core park rat, im sure they bailed after last year. Im sure alot of other people will do the same in the following years. Also, time is wasted making stupid ass features that make no sense that NOBODY even hits. I will do the research to find the correct methodology for setting up a terrain park if there is someone that looks at this site that will implement the correct jump building standards. If you are out there let me know and ill dig some shit up. There is NO way freestyle skiers can progress past a certain point at sno mountain, which makes sno mountain a waste of time and money to these people, I am just trying to provide some insight and let you know the market is out there and the crowd will come if you build it correctly ;-)
  13. Just saw on the website that sno is re-doing the mainline park and it will be done by tonight. Any idea what sno plans on doing with that, or any pics?
  14. Does anybody know what the plan is for the terrain park? There are a few things bothering me right now. First of all, the last two weeks were perfect for 24/7 blowing of snow and there is 1 jump on the entire mountain (not even built right) and no snow being blown for others. Secondly, the website and sno literature says they have a half pipe. There is no snow blown for this at all. By this point in the season there should be at least three decent sized jumps on the main park with a flowing variety of rails. Is there anyone in charge of the park that has any idea what they are doing? I can already tell that sno lost alot of the park guys that were there last year as they must have all went to boulder to ski/ride. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for the last two weeks, now im just getting pissed off! They need to hire an experienced person that actually skis or rides to run and manage the park. It seems like sno knows that boulder markets the shit out of their park and assume that its not even worth investing in their own park because it will never compare. In reality if snos park was 75% of boulders park and had nicely groomed, maintained, and built feautures sno would have the total package since you can actually ski at sno as well... These are my thoughts, what does everyone else thinks that goes to sno for the park and knows what they are talking about?
  15. Hey, Im newer to the area and know no one that skis around here that is around my age and good. Im looking for someone to hit up the park with and also rip up some shit on the north face. If anyone is going to be up there tomorrow that is interested, hit me up! Steve
