  1. Trevor, The 2 staircase comment is obviously not true throughout the world, but Bear is the only park in the area to have 2 full size stairsets open to the public on a daily basis to the best of my knowelege. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  2. In response to the DC question: It is the exact same design and it is built probabibly a bit better than the stair set at DC. The rail configurations on the stairs are identical with an up-flat-down box on one side and an up-flat-down rail on the other. In the middle there is and up and a down rail with a gap through the top flat. The lip setups for this stairset are basically unlimited so expect to some some original streetstyle setups on it. Don't forget about our other stairset either. It will include a down box with a bar comming off the side and a down rail. Basically it will replicate a true urban enviroment almost exactly, except the cops aren't gonna bust you. Two stairsets for the price of one, only at Bear. In response to the J box suggestion: Thanks for the suggestion, I will pass it on to the Iron Works. As of now, we only have a huge binder full of ideas for how to set up features for this year and no final layout has been created for opening day. Any other ideas on how to set up rails differently or how you liked setups is greatly appreciated. We make the park for you guys, so we want you to like it. What better way to do than that than to listen to the suggestions of our "core park riders?" Keep the suggestions comming!
  3. The rollercoaster was never hit by a groomer, or anything for that matter. That was a rumor started on these messageboards. It was taken off of the mountain in perfect condition last year and is in perfect shape for the upcomming season. We are aware that it and the J box were not the most popular features last year, but they will most likely see their place in one of the many parks at Bear this year. Again if you personally dont like those rails over 30 others will grace all 3 parks this year. On another note, all of the rails from last year have been rebuilt or fixed of any imperfections from last year's season so basically all of the features will slide like new again. Bear is dedicated to having the best and most progressive jibs in the area for all skill levels.
  4. Forumyoungbloood, Its a serious concideration at this point and I'd bet that we will have a barrel bonk or the like by Christmas. If the barrel doesnt come out though you can bet on other "bonkable" features to be in the parks basically full time. Oakley21, As for the J-box we do still have it and I dont know what the deal is at this point. We are no tthrilled by its appeal in the park but we do own it so it may or may not make an appearance this year. You will just have to wait and see. If you hate the rail then there are over 30 others you can hit instead!
  5. The stairs will be set up in a way where minimal people will ride down the stairs as you explained. They are scary looking and id bet that this will not as big of an issue as you would think (something about crashing down stairs appeals less to beginners than hanging out on langinds). I actually think this will be one of the safer features in the way of crowds in the landing. For those who want to get their urban stair jib on without dying in front of the lodge/lift, another stairset will be in cascade park. You can now hit 2 stair features in 1 run and also hit other urban features on the way down as well. Urban Jibbage to the MAX at Bear this year!
  6. haha yeah as well as skiers im sorry... i was just watching parker in a video and thats why i said boarders only. im am sorry fo r the mistake.. and nosebutter 5 would be epic
  7. Suprise, Suprise! Take a look at the webcam tomorrow morning and you will see the beginnings of the biggest stair feature in PA history. We cloned the DC Mountain Lab's infamous stair set so you can throw down right in front of the quad lift. Hope everyone likes the new stuff, its gonna be a good year with 2 new urban stairsets at Bear. More progress to come.
  8. ill sell u a pr of black a frames with fire for 90 is ur lookin 2 spend that
  9. are you building a down flat or a flat down? a down flat that is 50 feet long might be a deadly kink? 50 foot fd would be sick though
  10. Im glad everyone is stoked on the new features and park ideas. I think that this year will be awesome park wise and Andy and the BC Iron Works deserves alot of credit for building some solid and progressive jibs for the expanded park. Hope to see alot of PASR's ripping up all 3 parks at bear this year.
  11. Its not even 20 feet tall so im sure it wont do to much damage. People do urban drops to literally flat from over that height. Im sure anyone who has a clue what they are doing wont sustain injury from it. Remember it is in the expert park so im sure that basically everyone that should be in there will be able to hit it without trouble. I personally think it will be really fun for 1's and 3's and boarders can prob come up with some cool butter combos to pull off of it. Should be a pretty progressive feature if you ask me.
  12. holy jesus ur gonna need alot of speed to hit that thing. looks sweet as hell though. can you say intense spins off? whats the vertical rise on it? how long is it?
  13. haha o man thats alot of requests there... straight up video shoot goin down.
  14. Is the movie full of the usual MSP "heli wrap around shot" in the park? I stopped buying their movies because i felt like they were the same thing year after year and i dont like the flow/editing of the movie (basically what justin said). The skiing is always good though. Has anyone purchaced either witness or quick? I was wondering which one i shoud buy based on editing and skiing quality. On another note everyone needs to see follow me around. its a snowbaord movie but it is by far the best snow sports movie ever made. buy it even if you have never boarded, its worth it.
  15. How am i being negative if im asking if pros are going to be there? If jf and bj are there that is extremely sweet.

    LONG STORY SHORT

i want mine to come... hopefully monday.
  17. what pros are gonna be at the pro am contest? I dont know of any professional riders anywhere in PA. By the way professional does not mean sponsored it means you are paid to ski by a company. Just wondering if you guys are trying to pay some pros to get in on the contest?
  18. The manmade cliff is new for Bear this year.
  19. I do not run Bear Creek; I am on the Park Crew. I shovel snow and maintain park features. I have absolutely no say in the marketing or any other aspects of Bear other than physical work and help in design of the park. I am not going to argue or even comment on how Bear markets the park because I have no backround in marketing yet. I do not post pictures of Bear now because it is not my job to do so. I do not think it is right or wrong to get information out now but again it isnt my job to post park updates online right now.
  20. all im saying on this topic now is that i have a new respect for trevor and his excellent responses. i basically agree with all of them
  21. haha its the 1st leak of the year. Im supprised it took this long for pics of the new stuff to come out. He has posted the pics of the new "cliff drop" on cascade, the new flat down box, the new down flat down box, the new mobile adjustable pitch wallride, one of many new flat bars, and the newly repaired FLOW flat box from last year (under blue tarp). There are still many more features to come for the upcomming season park wise so stay tuned for official announcements. The Iron Works is working hard to bring everyone the best new features possible. I hope everyone likes what they have seen so far.
  22. i would like to add that by no means are those rails/boxes bad in any way. there sick as hell.
  23. yeah i got those same figments like a month ago and there so sweet... definately a good buy btw does anyone want a high blue lens for an a frame... i have an extra one with no scratches/ never been used ill get rid of for like 40 obo. great night lens for the a frame and its gonna run u like 70 at a shop. pm me if your interested.
  24. All i'm gonna say is that bb has made all of its announcements as to what its doing in its park already. Neither blue nor bear has yet. Until christmas it is really dumb to say that any park will "blow away" any other. im also gonna give props to andy lenart here. i know alot of you know who he is and more on here have no clue who im talking about. Andy is the park manager at bear and he welds some rediculasly good boxes and rails. Anyone who has seen the boxes he has built would be hard pressed to agrue with me here. All that I am saying is that people shouldnt throw out bold claims before christmas. Once parks open claim all ou want as to whos is better and you will have a sound arguement. Arguing over a jib variety that isnt even completed yet is just useless.
  25. ^agreed but its really not hard at all on skis either... if u can slide a box u can pretty much do that
