  1. At Buckman's we love to ski and ride. We also know it's not cheap. Even after you have all your equipment and clothes, getting to use them can be quite expensive! And with the way the economy is we want to help get people on the slopes.

Because of that we are announcing our "Buckman's Lift Ticket Stimulus Program"! We have put $50,000.00 into a fund to help make lift tickets more affordable to everyone.

In a nutshell here's the program:

Buy a lift ticket or season pass. GET A RECEIPT!

Bring the ORIGINAL receipt to one of our stores.

We will issue you a Lift Ticket Stimulus Program Rebate Card for:

20% of your daily, multi-day, and weekly lift ticket purchases

10% of your season pass purchases

Rebate Cards are redeemable at any Buckman's retail location.

(You can even use it to buy discount lift tickets!)

Rebate Cards are not redeemable for cash and must be used in full.

We will issue Rebate Cards until the $50k fund is used up. You can track the fund on buckmans.com. When the fund is gone, the program is over!

Of course there are more details which can be found online at buckmans.com or at our stores. Or feel free to ask questions here!

    - Watch for more great stuff all season!

    Think Snow!

  3. At least someone saw them!!! I've never been at a Red Bull sponsored event where finding Red Bull was so difficult. At last years Buckmans event people were literally OD'ing on the stuff...

Yeah, i was disappointed with the Red Bull ground team. They didn't seem to do much. I only was able to get 1 from them. if Kent from Atomic hadn't brought some I probably wouldn't have gotten anymore. Pretty funny how an 8yr old had better luck with the Red Bull girls!

As far as next year - watch for something big! All I can say is we will probably have 2 events bookending the season. Not sure if the parking lot event will work but we are still exploring it.

  4. Ok, want to thank everyone who participated for throwing down big. The quality of competition was outstanding.

Also need to thank all our sponsors and Big Boulder for helping us put this event together.

    So, here are the results:

I am sure that this year's event will be as much fun as all of our events. Quality competitors, great prizes, and well run!

thanks in advance to the Crew at Boulder for letting us have our event at their mountain and for all the work they put in on the course.

If you aren't competing come and watch, take photos, or shoot some video!

If you shoot video check out this post

  7. Calling all videographers!

The Philadelphia Surf & Snow Film Fest rolls into town on March 14th at Drexel University.

any questions e-mail me at johnl@buckmansinc.com

    good luck!

  8. When you register, do you use the reciept as a voucher for your ticket and proof of registration? or how does it work?

Everyone who registered will receive an e-mail (on wed or as soon after as they register) with details.

Competitor check in will be in the boulder Park Lodge from 8Am -9am. Bibs and lift tickets (if purchased) will be handed out. The day's schedule will also be posted there.

    Practice will be 9:30 - 11. Riders meeting 11:20. Event starts 11:30.

  9. Any word yet on the setup?

Ok, so I met with Ian on Friday. He is psyched to do a slopestyle as they haven't done one this year.

The set up will be on Love Park. There will be 4 features. 2 rail options each with 2 choices (easier and more technical) and 2 jumps.

The boulder crew will put together a great course. We will have a DJ, MC, and loads of our vendors set up for the day.

Register now to make sure you get a spot. We may or may not have onsite registration.

  10. sounds like you need some arch support, and the footbeds that come with hotronics certainly do not provide any. i'm not sure what buckmans does specifically, but check out nestors on rt. 145 in whitehall, it should be right on your way to blue. similar to zaps, A Line footbeds are a step shy of the full custom deal, but we've had a ton of success with them, and they're cheaper than full customs. swing by on your next trip up to blue and get your boots tweaked beforehand, and then stop by afterwards if you're still having problems, that way you can get everything sorted out before utah. i'm gonna be out there the same time, where are you skiing?

Especially since you are so close, our Montgomeryville store staff can get you fixed up before you get to UT. Ask for Brian Tobish or Drew Good as they are our best 2 boot fitters in that store. Both have been well trained by Master Fit and have years of experience in our shop.

We do carry the Intuition liners and various footbeds (from simple trim to fit up to full on custom molded). I am confident that they can solve your issues.

I do suggest you have them taken care of and then use them at Blue or somewhere at least once prior to heading out west.

good luck and have fun in UT!

  11. John - You might consider adding a competitor name line as part of the registration. I am not competing, but I am registered. :P

The online instructions should say that the competitor info should be entered as the ship to. I will have my web guy clarify that.

Regarding the set up, I am meeting with the Boulder Park people on Friday to finalize that. Will try to pass the info along once it's established.

    thanks,

ps - registration is going along nicely, can't guarantee there will be on-site registration so register asap to ensure you don't miss out!

  13. An apperance may be in order, what kind of shit do the people who place get. I hope it's not like the EMS where you win points, and those points add up to the series winner.

Not sure but I do know that the people from Scion came to Buckman's to get the prizes for the winners of each division!

  14. Why can't it be in a mall parking lot again?

Because the mall makes us pay to use their space and this year they added to their fee quite substantially. If we have it in the mall lot we won't be able to give out the kind of cash we do!

Sorry, it's moving to Boulder for this year and probably will be back in the mall lot next year.

  15. How ironic. You are calling me out for calling someone out.

How about taking your own advice and keep it to yourself.

    Johnny-

I wasn't calling anyone out. No negativity from me. I just didn't want to get the blame for the misinformation.

    now worries TT!

i too just wanted to set the record straight. everyone can watch for details on our event being posted next week.

  16. I was at Buckmans the other day and they daid they wre having issues securing insurance for the event.

    Hey all -

The details are still being finalized but we are moving our event to Boulder for this year. It's still happening on Saturday 2/21. Probably going to be more of a slopestyle event than pure rail jam. We will still have the large cash purse (over $5k total) along with thousands of dollars of give-a-ways.

This had nothing to do with securing insurance. Was moved in response to the mall jacking up the price for using their parking lot.

Watch here and buckmans.com for final info within the next 2 weeks.

  17. Hey everyone, I'm a freshmen at elmira college and Im gonna be spending a bunch of time at greek (hopefully) this season and was looking for people to ski with.

my buddy Kevin is the marketing director at Greek. he always likes getting out for some runs. stop by and tell him John from Buckman's sent you. he knows all the locals and people who hang out at Greek so he should be able to point towards some people.

  18. got an old board i wanna let my friends borrow, but it needs a little edge repair.

    any recommendations?

although it looks like you are from jersey, our shop (Buckman's) does great work. we have a couple of guys who only work on snowboards and with our hot boxes and top of the line equipment the guys can do some amazing things.

doesn't matter which location you use as all work is done at our central workshop.

  19. Liner-gate isn't going to work.... apparently my liner is a tad different after looking at it and it's just not going to happen...

For now I'm just going to try it out with my old liners as they fit into the shell without any real bunching.

Just for reference reasons... what's the deal with the intuition liners.. I hear that name everywhere but I have no idea what they are, etc..

fyi, Buckman's carries Intuition liners and we have trained boot fitters at every location. The Intuition liners are great especially as replacements in older boots that have liners which have packed out and are sloppy. They are also great for giving you a better custom fit in new boots.

I have had some toe nail issues over the years as well and after the podiatrist took care of them I now make sure I keep my toe nails as short as possible especially during ski season. I like tight boots and keeping the nails trimmed helps.

I also have gotten a pair of the Intuition liners, had them molded to my feet, and use them in my main set of boots. Now all is well with both the fit/comfort and performance of my boots.

I am not sure if Ski Bum carries them but if you are from that area then King of Prussia is an easy trek. Stop in and ask for Dave Yatsko or either of the store managers Matt Mutter or Drew Kinckiner. They are probably our best 3 boot fitters at that location. Our stores are open 10a-9p M-F, 10a-5p Sat and are closed on Sundays!
