  1. Does this mean that they don't plan on making the additional parks. Not to piss people off, but like I posted before, I think the number of people who don't do parks outnumber the amount of people who do at JFBB. Merry Widow is a popular trail for freesking and I could see where they could have got complaints on turning this into a park.

From what I heard, they are still planning on have a couple parks. I think they are still putting it on merry widow. I tend to agree with you on that point. Personnally I liked it on tbaum but it would be interesting to try it at least once on merry widow.

  2. so this is what papa was talking about...

by far the worst news ever.. :banghead

Yes, But BB still has some talented snowcat peeps and a PAID park crew who are descent people. And we still have the killer rails they made. I'm sorry to see them go, but I guess it is what it is.

Good Luck Guys, It was a pleasure having you turn the mountain arround and raise the bar in this area, even if it was for a little bit.

  3. who am I pissing off? other customers? I doubt it.... I am a customer of BB and I am pissed about the change (as others will be) and you should know that if you care about us.

To be honest, JFBB has been a somewhat stagnant mountain in the past. Peak has done the most improvement I've ever seen on those mountains. Yes, there is a ton of things changing. Some of the changes I like, some I don't. I've heard allot of ideas thrown around but allot of these ideas have been changed, dropped, incorporated, etc. The point is that the are in a growth stage and unfortunately that may mean staff changes, price increases, park passes or whatever else they feel will make the mountain work. Keep in mind that changes are not always permanent. If it doesn't work, they'll change it back or to something else they see to be a better fit. Peak is experienced with resorts, but new to this area. It will take time for them to see what the demographics call for.

What I meant, is instead of getting everyone worked up, wait till everyone finds out on their own then say "what can we do about this".

  4. I actually saw a lift ticket laying by the Tannenbaum lift, on Friday night. I wonder if they changed something with the sticker. I read somewhere on here about somebody using zip ties, instead of the metal wickets. They didn't switch from the wickets, did they?

no, they still have the metal wickets. I did notive while putting the pass on this year that adhesive on the back of the ticket was not sticking real well. Alot of times I've found passes on the groud they usually are because people A. put the wicket on upside down or B. has a zipper handle attached. a couple times I've found ripped ones. Usually by rails.

  5. It's not just the PITA ticket validation that bugs me. I don't like the fact that my full name is printed in big bold letters. And if I had kids, that would bother me even more. IF ANYONE AT BOULDER IS READING THIS, PLEASE PRINT A PASS NUMBER INSTEAD OF THE PERSONS NAME.... hell, just ditch the validation and get a hand scanner for lift attendants like MC has.

  6. hahahaha.... I hadn't noticed that.. Welcome to PASR!! Careful about saying anything negative about that place up that way.. I get needlessly blasted on a regular basis for expressing opinions about sno

It's not really negative but true. Every resort has growing pains when starting. Montage is a great mountain but was highly mismanaged. It has plenty of potential that hopefully Sno will take advantage of, but it will take some time for reorganization.

BBJF looked at buying that mountain several years ago but Montage wanted a large sum of money and also wanted BBJF to pick up the debt. As you see, it was too high of a price.

Personally I wish all the mountaints in the area would get togeather and do a combined resort season pass like the have out in Colorado.

  7. jeeeez, ru related to doug? :rofl

He is prob. used to a desparate mountain that was tring to attract people to recover a deep deep debt by discounting tickets. (yes the old Mountage) Gee, wonder why they were in debt.?.?

Boulder is really stepping it up this year, just buy a season pass. It'll probobly take a couple years before Sno (new owner of Mountage) catches up to any of the resorts in the area.
