  1. Aight. For this Sunday, I'm gonna be at Bear Creek. So if you're gonna be there, PM me or reply to this post or whatever. Going on Papa Steeze's advice, I'm gonna try and set something up at big boulder sometime in the near future...so stay tuned for that. If you're gonna be at bear, let me know what skis/outfit you're rockin so i can find you. my name's Ben and i'll most likely be in all khaki with green salomon boots and blue pocket rockets (if i bring my skis) i'll also have an old 16mm camera and a tripod, so you shouldn't miss that. see you tomorrow.
  2. i can do blue mtn too if that works better for people. i live south of philly, so i don't wanna drive up to freakin Scranton or really too far past Allentown. you guys will understand when you start paying for your own car and gas.
  3. Hey guys, glad to see some responses. I'm thinkin this Sunday (11th) at Bear Creek. Lemme know if you can make it. Peace.
  4. Hey everybody. I've been working at The Ski Bum for 4 years and I'm a film student at Temple University in Philly and I'm looking at getting into the adrenaline sports film industry. Anyway, I'm looking for some skiers and snowboarders that have mad skills in the park. I'm going to be shooting on 16mm film (some black and white, and some color) and probably some DV as well. Basically I'm using this footage to put together a reel to accompany my resume. So obviously you guys would be helping me out a lot, but there's something in it for you too. First off, I would definitely give any participants a copy of whatever footage I get. Also, my reel is going to be sent to companies like Teton Gravity Research, Level 1 Productions, Poor Boyz Productions, Rage Films, Warren Miller and Matchstick Productions. So, you'll get a little exposure in the process if that's what you're looking for. I'm up for any location, but something close like Bear Creek would be ideal. Also, since we have all this cold weather now, I'm up for some urban rail sessions too if any of you guys have any good locations. Sundays and Mondays work best for me. Let me know if you have any questions/concerns. If you're interested, reply to this post and we'll try to get something organized. Thanks guys!

    Twin Tippers

Hey Guys, I just got back from Stratton's on-snow demo and rode pretty much every twin tip for next year. I won't go into everything, but I'll give you some suggestions. First of all, the K2 Public Enemy sucks as an all mountain ski as far as I'm concerned. An all mountain twin to me is a ski that is good in the park but can rip on the groomers and other conditions. If you haven't gone fast enough on the K2 PE to see how crappy they are, then you can't ski very fast. Anyway, Volkl is replacing the Karma next year with 2 different skis. Can't remember the names of them...one is called the Bridge, I think. Anyway, Volkl makes an awesome ski and they always have, so you can't really go wrong with them. Rossi renamed their Scratch FS and BC. The new FS is ok...better for park...not sure what the new name is. The new BC is called the Brigade and it was pretty sick. Super sweet pinstripe graphic. Skis well all over the mountain, but still good in the park. I think the best all mountain twins I was on was probably the Nordica Supercharger line. Also, next year's Line twins are pretty sick. Super stable at high speeds but still somewhat buttery. If anybody is looking for a more park specific ski for next year, check out the Jon Olsson pro model from Head...siiiiick graphic, but it might be tough for some of you 12 and 13 year-olds to get your parents to buy them for you...b/c the skis have two super hot chicks on them...twins actually (how convenient). Anyway, feel free to shoot me any questions about anything as far as next year's skis go. Happy skiing.
