  1. I see some things don't change around here. Anyway, I skied 14 times in 2011, all at JFBB. I just sort of lost interest and hated going out when it was cold. I didn't even get a pass in 2012 and didn't ski at all. I just didn't feel like it and had other areas to put my money. This year, I might go out a few times. I don't know about a pass. I see that Montage has a morning lift ticket for $20, which is an excellent option for somebody like me. I'm surprised that more places don't go back to offering morning or half day tickets. I might hit JF, I do miss the place and employees. I just don't think I will get there enough to make buying a pass worth it. I guess it might come down to quantity vs quality. Nobody beats the snow quality and grooming at JF. I can't see myself doing more than 15 days, if that, though. 10 days at JF pays for that pass at $400. 10 days at Montage will only be $200, so I guess I have some thinking to do...lol . JFBB will always be my "home" though.

That would be for a midweek pass, since I didn't go on any weekends in 2011.

  3. ...it's really up to the admins to market this site and ThinkSnow Greg only really skis a few days a year and Atomic Jeff moves onto golf and group car washes once ski season is over..if I was ever on staff..I would send all the members PMs to remind them about PASR and get them posting again!!!

IMO, lack of moderation, on line fights, immaturity, and the vulgarity that has become common is what killed the site.

  4. I guess we can't complain. If it wasn't for the last huge snow storm, places probably would have closed up early, with this heat that we've had. March to now has been way too warm for me.

Ya there was so much snow last weekend on what was opened with a good turnout sad.gif Stay open!!!!

    x2.

  5. thats amazing that BB has so much more snow than CB. props for the CB hike dime!

5 degree temp difference really makes a big difference. Even during the middle of the winter, I can tell the difference in snow quality. CB seems to have a higher water content, which makes it heavier. It eventually also seems to melt off quicker (might also be due to the higher traffic at CB).

  6. next weekend (if this rain shit doesn't kill it for good) icon_smile_banghead.gif

Can't make the 2 hour trek two days in a row qq.gif

It was really nice again on Sunday. They have enough snow to get through the rain. With the warm temps expected, it might get a little sketchy though. I plan on doing a couple day trips to Bell, this week. Maybe Thursday and Friday.

  7. Forecast looks horrible. Heavy rain early in the week, with temps in the 80's toward the weekend. Some weather buffs on a message board I monitor are debating if it could reach 90, by next weekend. This spring has been too warm for my liking. I hate warm weather. icon_smile_banghead.gif

  8. I got on the snow at BB at 11:45, after doing some resort shuffling. I was surprised how many people were at BB, with CB still being open. There was about a 6 or 7 chair wait at times. I spoke to somebody who said there was a line at the ticket window when they got there. Conditions were phenominal. The snow wasn't hard at all - it was perfect, nice and soft for carving. I ended up lapping Mittl Weg and Draufganger all day, for 30 runs. Excellent job on grooming. bow.gif

  9. I slept in and got on the snow at 10:45, hoping that it would have softened up. To my disappointment, I found big piles of heavy sugar with lots of ice on the headwalls. I couldn't stand the conditions, so after 4 runs I bolted and went to BB, which I originally thought would be better. I got on the snow at BB at 11:45 and it was like going to heaven. The snow was nice and soft and I couldn't find any icy spots wiggle.gif . I ended up doing 30 runs and bolted about 3:30.

  10. Wait...you want to put a HSQ on East Mtn. and expect the people trying to ski Exhibition to ski down Sno Chute and across the top to hit Exhibition?

Triple chairs would still take care of that. I should have clarified it better. I was just pointing out how much area it could cover, when the snow is firm.

  11. The forecast for Camelback Saturday is sunny and 45 degrees. It's supposed to rain tonight but they're supposed to be open tomorrow and as long as they are I'd say Saturday is a sure thing.

I'm not worried about Saturday. I'm worried about driving and having them not open on Friday. It happend once before to me, in a similar situation.

Got my dates confused, I believe the rain will be over long before morning. As long as they're daily report says open around 7-8 when they put it up should be a safe bet.

I have to leave by 7:40. They told me they should know by 8:30.
