  1. you're the one posting entire threads about one guy cutting you off??
  2. 1st, never said i didn't have a good time.. i had a great time.... 2nd, the conditions were alot nicer for skiiers, my edges were detunes, and its different for boarders.. 3rd. I did hit that trail, and i forgot to put it in my report, but it was most deffinitly the best trail for the day. alot of powder. best powder i've seen in PA. But the middle was solid ice on the one side, and big ice chunks/balls on the other side.. I only got to go on it twice though because Ski patrol yelled at me.
  3. The long steep and windy road to the top was quite fun, as we slidd around the corners on about 2 inches of snow. Once getting to the top, and getting all my stuff together in the very small, very crowded lodge, i headed out. My hopes were relitively high, since i read they had about eight inches of REAL snow the day or so before. Well as i strapped in on the extremely windy summit i started my uncharted run down. (there were no trail maps anywhere on the mountain.) I suddenly realized this fresh pow pow i had been expecting was not there.. In fact i was surprised to find there wasn't even some nice groomers or man made snow. The fact was, it was one solid sheet of hardpacked snow (the kind that you can't even carve a rut into, and was very frustrating the first many turns i took) Not only was it EXTREMELY hardpacked, but everywhere i turned there was large SHEETS of solid ice that i would have to flat base it across, or my butt would pay the consequences. There was about an inch or two of granular snow on the top at some parts.. and some parts at the very very side you could find a secret pow stash (a whopping 3 inches, wooo!) Since i was unfermiliar with the mountain i couldn't go fast down any of the trails, I couldn't tell where any of this non edge holding hardpack showed up (which was 80 percent of the mountain) and i didn't wanna be flying down and then not be able to regain control after i merge into a smaller trail. However, there was quite a few little "rollers" that were very steep, and very short that were all over the place and you could pop all sorts of 1's and 3's all the way down the trail, which was probably the best part of the whole mountain. The Stambogen (sp?) bowl was very dissapointing, it had a very thin cover all over it, which parts of solid grass, and hay type stuff sticking up alll over.. (this is the end of february right?) Well they had one part at the verrry end covered with snow, and then the windy trial leading to the bottom seemed like it would be alot of fun, if it wasn't all scrapped off ice that made the turns very annoying. The Glades looked like soo much fun! too bad they were mostly all closed,, and most of them didn't have enough snow cover for me to risk getting by without some major core shots anyway... The park had a few rails that looked like man made welded together jackked up skate rails.. with massive gaps onto, and whoever made the lips had no idea what they were doing. The only jump was this tiny little sideways spine... no kicker or down ramp really.. halfway through the day some locals grabbed some shuvels and with the help of there snowboards made a little kicker, so it turned into an actually pretty nice very small 10 foot step over. I spent a good part of the day just hiking that with a few of the kids there.. It wasn't a bad little jump, considering it was made with shovels and snowboards rather then a groomer... anyways.. too sum it up... it seems like the mountain has AWESOME potential.. if the groomer actually gave a **** about his job, and helped the park crew out and actually tilled up the freaking trails... The lift attendents and and ski patrol were VERY nice (excluding the fact that they skied right by this little girl who just slammed straight into a shed, dispite our waving and screaming) and i also saw a guy who looked exactly like GSS..... overall, it wasn't a bad day.. it was sorta fun... but i was extremely dissapointed...
  4. thats the most constructive post i've seen on this thread.
  5. Agree'd about the QP... and i personally never liked the a frame... ahha idk why..
  6. I only ride it when I have my avelanch Beacon and shovels... and NEVER EVER Ride alone...thats the #1 rule.
  7. As i walked up to the lift it was all really hardpacked, almost icy... with a top layer of sugar. I thought oh greaat... Then when we got to the top it was soft manmade snow on top of the same hardpack.. which got my hopes up a little. Then as i went down it alternated between the sweet n low, ice, and manmade unresponsive snow all the way down the trails. very weird conditions to say the least.... Wasn't to bad beside the icy spots though... Very fast too. I didn't have any trouble with speed at all.. I also saw a few bare spots... not cool
  8. me? yea... I didn't last night cuz everything was too icy... Speaking of last night.. IT was really hardpacked.. and all the lips to the jumps in black bear were pretty much solid ice... The cascade jump line wasn't to bad though. I dont like the quarter pipe right now though, it starts out mellow then all of a sudden goes straight up... it needs to be more of a gradual change... Everything else was pretty nice besides the icy lips to the black bear jumps... the landings got dug out pretty bad on some of the rails.. but i saw the park crew fixing them a few times... good job And me and corregated pipes dont get along hahahh!
  9. hahah! dang, i wasn't even paying attention.. deffinitly ment EXTREME.. haha...
  10. I've bombed it straight down cascade right to the F chair and never got a whistle... ever.....
  11. dontcha hate those bad days? seems like bear creek is struggling this past week. I wouldn't say that bear creek is all beginner trails.. but Its not steep vertical like "missdemeanor" said... sry to hear your experience was bad there
  12. Oh i'm waiting for it.. Dont worry. i'm in a pissy enough mood already
  13. its so i dont turn out like an annoying POS porno addict like yourself.
  14. ya they need a good flat box agian.. they took the good one out for the double C. and it made me sad :-(
  15. because i put a little bit about what the other side is like and for those who dont ride park can just quick take a look at this instead of filtering through alll the park thread... it did turn into more of a park TR then i realized. but o well... And Cole where did you build that? do you think they're going to keep it up?
  16. I didn't really ride the otherside of the mountain alot. I had to take adventage of the soft landings and try some "big" stuff. But when i was over there the conditions were granular, spring conditions, pretty fast, and not TOO wet, pretty nice actually. The park was good, the beginning of the day everything was really prime. Lips felt good, landings were really nice. Then after about four or five everything started to get cut out. and by the end of the night all the landings were really cut out. So if you want to get some good park riding in try and go in the early mornings, its really nice then. overall it was a great day, good spring weather, (few drizzles.. thats it) the park crew did a prettty good job.. So take advantage of the Soft snow and head to bear in the morning before everything is really torn up
