Bell is NOT closing.. And once they put all the development in - your little "Grand Hotel scene" will be over... That petition sucks... It makes NO mention of whats being offered to the employees - what are their options? It's all emotion and sky is falling BS.. I can't sign it.. Sorry - but this is a debate for us NY'rs that feed that place with our tax money to support 3 typists with year round govt jobs... Just BS... Ski areas are seasonal work... Everywhere! If those people don't want those jobs there will be a line of folks from that valley waiting to take them.

GSS - I think you crossed the line with the Facebook attack on Greg... It pretty much pissed off everyone.. Including me and all the rest of the people advocating for your return. It's still an assumption based upon the past just the same.. Most people I know from NYC are nice and polite... nothing like your assumption.. I work at a company where we take people to NYC all the time and they are very impressed with the way they are treated by the locals... Also remember when you say NY - it's a pretty big state... It's like saying people from Philly act like people from Pittsburg... It's just not a fair assumption... Those assholes could be from anywhere.. NJ, NY, PA, CT.... And if I remember correctly... Camelback, Shawnee and JF had it's share of jerks too.... But you don't see me ragging on CB and JF... And I'm supposed to be an obnoixious NYer... According to you...

I have friends that teach that get huge tips at Hunter... Also have freiends who waitress and make good tips..

the top of Hunter(Colonels chair mtn) is way closer than 2-3 miles... There is expansion in the works.. Look for more terrain opening up in the next couple of years... I'm sure it is nicer in the winter.. But probably a lot more dangerous.... I'll take spring corn and more stable snow.. No problem there.. I'm taking a AVI1 refresher in December at Pinkham Notch... Hope there's fresh snow at Tucks then... After that - I'll probably hit Tucks in Feb and March.. I know the terrain and it's a s-load closer...

Indeed.. Been wanting to explore the Chic Chocs in Eastern Canada for a while... I've began running to prepare for the week... Once ski season starts I'll skin up Hunter a couple times a week,,

Headed to JH this March... Love PB and Altatchutes... It was a toss up between JH(staying at a friends condo for free) and a BC hut trip to Canada using my splitboard to get around... Couldn't decide so I'm doing both...

They actually make them ski without their jackets the first couple of weeks because people complain there's too many on the trail... It was one guy... me... And I'm back...

I've read those... It's so typical... Stems from some intermediate skier that got jammed into the only 2 easy way down from the top... Probably fell in front of his kids or girlfriend and was embarassed... Took it out on Hunter based upon stuff he's heard from people like 999..... In a way I should thank these people ....

never - don't race... Although I may work on the race crew if needed for the NORAM(or whatever it is)... I'll gladly go to Tuckermans with you that weekend and share a beer above the headwall... I'm only defensive because I live here and want to fight back at some of the things you guys said that I believe are gross exagerations...... I don't know why you can't get that through your head??? I know I can't win an argument with 999.... not even with solid photagraphic proof AND firsthand accounts from people who frequent this board... you - I could care less about... I start hitting Tuckermans in March - been there in February before... I use a splitboard to get to the ravine and have avalanche skills and equipment ... I was seriously joking... I have no interest in proving my skillz against yours... I'd personally rather be at Tuckerman Ravine that weekend testing my skillz against a mountain...
