Pizza Wedge (2/10)

  1. I'll be up at Belleayre on Friday and Sat (24/25). Let's hope that there are some decent runs. See you all there.
  2. According to the website they will have 5 trails and 3 lifts open this weekend... maybe with additional "real snow" they might open more? I'm heading up tomorrow morning for the day. If that's all they have open I'll probly end up at hunter on saturday.... ------------------- ... got a little captain in you?
  3. I won't be up there this weekend... but the plan is belleayre Saturday after thanks givin... I'll be there with my capt morgan logo on my leg... it'll be good to finally meet some of you. ------------------ .... got a lil captain in you?
  4. this is my first (college student only) but that's b/c of the money. Hopefully it won't be the last. ------- .... got a lil captain in you?
  5. I'm honestly not sure... I could ask him at some point. Someone mentioned before that they wern't open last year... so I don't know. Good question though.
  6. My uncle is an ex-ranger at Hunter (one of the better ones...believe me) he's been there for over 25 years... his peoples are telling him that they are doing everything they can (again dependent on the weather) to be open for the Thanksgiving weekend. Everyone start prayin.... ------- ... got a lil captain in you?
  7. Definitly more fun to drive... but I def had a close call going to CB last winter... I was on I80 just before PA (exit 4ish) while traveling with lastdutchess, with about 7-8 inches on the road... I definitly hit a patch of ice or something spun 180 almost hit 3 cars then ended up backward right up next to the median. This could have been much worse, but between luck, the ski gods, and my driving skills we were able to make it to the mountain on time. Still scary though... as soon as I got out of my car to see the damage, my first thought was if I'd still be able to make it to CB to ski for the day... Then my second thought was to see if lastdutchess was ok, then the ski's and finally... my car. I guess that's how it goes... ------ ... got a lil captain in you?
  8. That works in the parks and such... and could be adjusted, that if you want a total mountain pass you would have to watch a similar video... similar reprecussions if you mess up... I'm liking that idea. --------- ..... got a lil captain in you?
  9. Yeah.... I mean people need to learn. The need to learn their sport at a pace which is good for them. That's why there is the coolmoor and sunbowl. If you don't understand the merging on trails, or speed control you need to take some lessons. (and stay off any upper trails green or not) I agree with lastdutchess. I've only been doing this for about a season now but I took the time to learn. I usually like to agree with Darwin in these situations but it really screws the rest of us up in the mean time. I think that there should be like an orientation for all skiers/boarders who have not been to CB before... Any other suggestions? I know it's not exactly feesable, but something needs to be done. Even if all the rangers were excellent they couldn't see everything. -------- .... got a lil captain in you?
  10. I'll bring the my friends Jack D, Mr. Morgan and Jim, anyone else you think I should invite? --------------- ... got a lil captain in you?
  11. Thanks for all the replies. I make like 2 or 3 trips a year out there with a bunch of friends, those days we usually stay in a hotel, it's the rest of the season when there is just me and or one of my friends. We are both college students so we get the College Student Season pass (no saturdays...). I usually like to be up as much as I can, usually Thursday nights, Fridays, Sat nights and Sundays. I don't have the time to do that everyweek but that would certainly be nice. I actually have no official affiliation with the sponcered weekends, but the last february when they were there I won some cool stuff... that, and Captain Morgan is certainly a great drink. So me + the captain + camelback = ton of fun. I think I'll look into hooking up w/ someone who wants to make a lil' extra cash. Right now on a college budget, timeshares and hotels are just a tad out of my price range. As for Doc Rockel, I didn't have the oppurtunity to have him, but a bunch of my buddies who are in the Bio program had him... How do you know him? You go to TCNJ? If I can end up working something out about staying friday night into saturday, I am definitly going to let the ski patrol know. I've been an EMT for 6 years and recently certified Firefighter so... that stuff is kinda right up my ally. Thanks again all... See you around. ------------------ - got a lil captain in you?
  12. Hey all, I'm new to the forum and relativly new to Camel Back. I've been riding there for about a year. I'm really excited about this upcomming season, but I'm worried about the time I can spend up there (especially with the gas prices so high) . I've got about a 2-3 hour commute depending on traffic and weather, which is a pain in the butt to say the least. You know, 2 hour drive on any randomn afternoon, 4 hours of sking, then another 2 hour drive back, seems a bit much when I want to come back and ski on the next morning. I'm looking for a place that that I can stay at for like a night or 2 a week (throughout the season) without paying hotel prices (just as bad as gas). My uncle has some friends up at Hunter that have a ski cabin, they each pay like 20 a night per person to stay and they can come and go as they please. It's basically a place to sleep and stay warm at night. Then, they only have like a 20 minute ride to the mountain in the morning. It's works out great for everyone. Anyone know of any places/people offering a simmilar deal? Or anything even close (really cheap local hotels ect...)? Any locals willing to give up heated space in a spare room for some extra cash (w/ references of course)? Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all. ~Shouting out from Jersey~ P.S. If you don't wanna post that info here for fear of bombardment... shoot me an email at mnich2@t*c*n*j*.edu (just remove the *'s)
