  1. Nah, I didn't eat there. I was just walking by and thought it was a cool building. Some of those were taken with a Canon 1D and some with a Canon 40D.
  2. One of the pics I took on my trip. Spent a week there- it was fantastic.
  3. Hey man, I was up there the same time you were. I just got back last night. I took some great pics and I'm uploading them now. I'll post some when they're done.
  4. My utter disdain for CB aside, they have always been generous with letting their employees AND family members ski for free. I do think employees getting an "unlimited pass" is a bit much. Keep in mind, they don't have to let anyone ski for free. I mean, come on- what person in his right mind would want to ski at CB on a weekend anyway- free or otherwise. Hell, they could pay me, and I still wouldn't ski there on a Saturday afternoon. That place is jammed. CB wants you working- not skiing on the weekend. Picture this: a good percentage of their help goes to school (high school or college) and ONLY works nights and weekends. If they had free unlimited skiing for their employees and it snowed friday night, how many of their employees would call off sick for Saturday and go skiing? Then what are they suppose to do, fire everybody? They would be foolish to allow employees free skiing on weekend days.
  5. I'll apply. Oh, wait- I forgot, Camelback banned me from their property. Nevermind.
  6. Camelback was pretty busy last night. Lots of school kids and lots of busses. Here is a pic:
  7. Yeah, it may be a little slow at the moment. I'm hosting it on my webserver here at home, so the your d/l speed is limited to my DSL upload speed. I'm uploading it to You Tube as we speak. I'll change the link as soon as it's done uploading.
  8. All you really need is the divx web player to watch it. Get it here: http://www.divx.com/divx/webplayer/
  9. Here is the video covering Blue's opening for Friday. This was on the 5:00 news (WFMZ channel 69): You need Divx to watch this. Click here (19mb .divx movie)
  10. My bad, I looked at the calender wrong. Should be 10/1. DUH!
  11. That is right next to the covered bridge on Covered Bridge Road in Lower Towamensing Twp. It's right near Blue Mountain. It used to be a conveyor I think for an old sand quarry.
  12. I was up there taking a few pics. I've uploaded them to my gallery here: http://velocycle.smugmug.com/gallery/1974502 Here is a teaser:
  13. Here is a bunch of pics I took when I was there this past Sunday. I'd definitely like to be there when they call the helo's in. Any one have any clue as to when they are coming? Their website says "within two weeks." I've uploaded the pics to my gallery here: http://velocycle.smugmug.com/gallery/1974502 Here is a teaser:
  14. I took the originbal picture and I am going back out that way tomorrow with my camera. I'll take some construction pics provided it's not raining too hard.

    CB R.I.P

Sure 'bro. There used to be T-bars, J-bars, and rope tows all over the mountain. I've been skiing there since '75 and there have definitely been a lot of positive changes. It's gone "downhill" since the mid to late '90's though.
  16. I couldn't get anything in the foreground or background, I was too close to the fireworks. The CamelNazi's were out in full force and had everything blocked off and cattled everyone where they wanted them to go like sheep. I wanted to shoot from the SunBowl, but they would not let anyone down there. I wound up shooting from the parking lot just above sunbowl. These fireworks were the worst I've ever seen in my life. They only lasted like 25 minutes and the finale lasted like 25 seconds. Where I was standing, not a single person clapped when they were over- that's how bad they were. I was very disappointed.
  17. Yes, I used a tripod. The shutter speed varies from picture to picture. The shutter speed setting I used is called "bulb mode." What that means is the shutter is open for as long as I have the shutter button pressed. So I don't get camera shake on the tripod while activating the shutter, I used a remote cable release. As for camera settings, I used manual mode, f/11 (f/8-11 works best for fireworks), manual focus (pre-focused to infinity), shutter speed bulb mode, tripod, and remote shutter release. Believe it or not, this was my first time photographing fireworks. I may go to Dorney Park tonight to photograph those.
  18. These were taken yesterday at Camelback Ski Area in Tannersville, PA. Here are more of them: http://velocycle.smugmug.com/gallery/1621993
  19. There is only one thing to say about this topic: CAMELBACK SUCKS!
  20. I just gave all three away to someone here. Better to give them away then to have them go to waste. I wasted a few last season.
  21. No, this season only. Man, I can't even give these sonsabitches away.
  22. I have three free vouchers for skiing at CB. I'm not going to use them, so the first three people to PM me gets one for free. Two are employee vouchers, and one is a Ski Patrol voucher.
