Making Turns

Making Turns (3/10)

  1. That's an awesome Trip Report! I'm glad that you enjoyed Greek! I was there Saturday and Sunday (morning) for the Cancer event. I can atest that Saturday did suck! My goal for the 24 hour event was 100 runs. The demo and skiing with customers throughout the morning and early afternoon slowed me down a bit. The weather didn't help much either, but I mangaged to stick it out all night and get in 75 runs. I took my boots off Sunday morning to find a swollen and black and blue left foot. X-rays yesterday showed a hairline fracture in one of my meta-tarcels. No fun on that front but the event was awesome! Sunday did look to be one of the best days of the year, but after skiing for 24 hours and not being able to fit my foot back into my boots we packed it up and headed home! I'm glad you were able to enjoy all the snow and sun yesterday! Thanks for the great report!
  2. I did get and chance to ski the Kung Fujas! It skied a lot like the Seth of old, but better. I guess that's the best way to describe it. I highly reccomend skiing it before you buy it, but it was a very nice skiing ski. A lot better than I anticipated!
  3. The PE is now the Extreme! Similar construction with a different sidecut! It skied great, it's just a little bit more turny. Hope that helps! The walls didn't change for next year! It's a sick ski! Armada didn't make it to the demo, and the Rep didn't have any suspects. I only skied the new Dumont, The Lord, and the Czar. The Dumont was amazing! Probably the best park ski I skied all day! It's got a lot of pop and the vertical side walls are a very nice touch! The Lord with it's mini rocker skied great it was a lot of fun and it floats well and busts through crud with no problem... think of it as the love child of the gun and the foil. The Czar was sweet! At 111 underfoot it was suprisingly agile and it wasn't to hard to make short turns. Salomon's tins are probably the best out there in my opinion. They've really stepped it up for next year! Icelantic didn't make the demoeysince there aren't many shops in NY that will carry them. Volkl didn't bring the Kuro, and BD didn't show up. They will most likely be at some of the Telefest's around the state. I know there's one at Denton on the 23rd and 24th.
  4. I think one of our employees ordered that boot on an employee early release program. I'll check into it and let you know! It does look like an awesome boot though! I know demoing skis is a personal preference thing, but I could/can at least give you somewhat of an idea about how they ski.
  5. Hey everyone, I'm attending another shop employee demo on Wednesday and was wondering if anyone on here had any skis for next year that they wanted a review on? I'll put out a general review later this week, but wanted to know if there were any skis that people were particularly interested in! Let Me Know! Think Snow!
  6. The Jesters are great! But who really needs a DIN of 16? I skied the new Griffon last week at Stratton and it was awesome and definetley the way to go. All the features of the Jester but with a DIN of 12. And it's not $300! It's also lighter than the Jester which is always nice.
  7. You're on to me huh? Lol, looks like E-bay will be the option to unload to make a profit, but I'll let you know!
  8. The Bridge is the way to go! I opted early season to get the wall and granted it's one of the best park skis ever made the bridge may be even better. If you are only riding park then the Wall is great but as for all mountain and some park the bridge is definetly the answer! I haven't heard anything about the binding issues. I have z12's on both my Bridge and my Wall and have them cranked up to 10. I've done a lot of urban on the walls and Swain has a nice 75 footer up and haven't had any trouble... If you're blowing apart z10's I'd look into an STH for next year or even the Marker Griffon. The Griffon will be just like the Jester but have a din up to 12 and will sell for about what the Z12 does. Oh and by the way I have a pair of Walls that I skied 5 runs on. They are a 169 and just a too damn short for me! They have White Z12's on them. anyone interested?
  9. Awesome! Sounds like you had a good time! Yeah the bumps on Elysian are closed until they get some more snow, but they are usually cool with you skiing over there, the coverage just sucks and you run the risk of skiing over some rocks, but its often times worth it to ski the bumps. Your trip report was great and right on in my opinion! It was very positive and that's always a good thing! I looked for you on Sunday but didn't see you. Think snow!
  10. I have a brand new pair of Volkl Wall's in a 169 They are center mounted for a 28.5 size boot with Salomon Z-12 Ti's Anyone interested? They are destined for E-bay but I thought I'd check with you guys first. They've been skied about 5 runs. I'm asking $550 but will entertain offers. Let me know!
  11. How was your trip? And what'd you think of Greek?
  12. I was there last sunday and the conditions seem to get better and better each day from what I'm told! We're supposed to get some snow tonight so lets hope mother nature hands us something good! Have fun and let me know how your trip went! I may or may not be up there on sunday. I have a red North Face jacket, black Giro G10 MX and will most likely be riding a pair of Mantra's.
  13. Skied Greek yesterday and the new snow has helped! Everything is white again! They have all their guns blowing snow and it should shape up to be a great weekend! We have cold temps forecasted for the next couple of weeks so its only going to get better! I'll keep you posted as to how the mountain is shaping up. THINK SNOW!
  14. Hey there, I sold the skis last month. That's not my e-bay auction... But thanks for looking out! They were an awesome pair of skis! I skied some pipe the other day and wish I had them! Oh well! Thanks guys!
  15. Hey All! I skied Greek on Sunday... The runs that had snow were amazing! There wasn't much open though. I think they had 18 trails. All the warm temps and rain really killed them. For a few weeks they had everything open and it was epic (as epic as Greek gets). They've gotten 8 inches of snow since sunday and it's dumping right now! One good thing is the rain refilled all the snow making ponds and the lake so they have more water to re-make all the snow they lost! I'm headed up tomorrow, so I'll let you know how things have improved. If the weather keeps up like this they should be fully open and have some awesome conditions by super bowl weekend. If you can find a pass holder that will go with you to buy your ticket you can get 20-30% off. It's not much but it helps!
