  1. The Jib Stick Jungle Rail Jam has been relocated to the bottom of Cliffhanger/next to the Stevenson loading area. The event will be held rain or shine. The age categories will be as follows: Age 12 & under Age 13-17 Age 18+ Categories will be divided into male/female and ski/snowboard Looking forward to seeing you all there!
  2. You can register the day of the event. Registration will take place beginning at 12pm. Release forms can be downloaded off our website (http://skicamelback.com/images/SlideInk/THRrelease.pdf) to speed up the registration process and for anyone under 18 that will not have a parent/guardian present to co-sign.
  3. To update my previous post, Camelback will be closing for the season Saturday, April 5.     NJSkiFamily is correct- we will be open all this week and possibly next (weather dependent, of course). It has been set up next to Ticket Sales on the weekends. Check out the website for pictures if you have not seen it yet- The Easter Bunny even tried it out yesterday!
  10. If the picture pass that you have states on it that it is valid for the 2007/2008 season, then you can show it at Camelback for a complimentary open-to-close ticket. Stop in the Guest Welcome Center with your pass when you arrive to pick up your free pass.
  11. The 10,000,000th guest was named today! He recieved a free 2008/2009 season pass for making history. Our local news station was here to film this special occasion as we bombarded him at the ticket window with balloons and cameras. I think we scared him a little- he thought he was on a candid camera show and it was all a joke! Check out our website for pics.   12. March Madness Season Passes are on sale beginning Monday March 3rd, 2008. Ski and ride every day until the end of the the season for only $99! Plus, you can send in your pass at the end of the season for a credit towards your Unlimited Pass for 2008/2009! The March Madness Pass can be purchased in person at the Guest Welcome Center or online at www.skicamelback.com Winter is not over yet- March is filled with great spring skiing and riding along with fun events and entertainment. For nearly the same price as 2 day or twilight lift tickets, you can enjoy unlimited skiing and riding until the end of the season, plus apply the pass for a $99 credit towards next season's Unlimited Pass!
  13. So... the box that we built for the Derby is too big to get out of our office! We are starting re-construction this afternoon. Will any of you be competing tomorrow? I will be judging the Derby so make sure you stop by and hi! Also... Check out Liquid Sunshine tomorrow in the Main Lounge (21 and older only!) from 4-8pm and Joe O' Malley on Sunday from 2-6pm. We will be kicking off March skiing and riding in a big way this WinterFest Weekend! 100% open and (hopefully) some fresh powder after tonight's predicted forecast of 2-4 inches! Subaru will be hosting their 2nd "Master the Mountain" Tour in the base area along with demos by Swix, Nitro Snowboards and Nordica Skis. I was pretty impressed by some of the boxes I saw when searching YouTube for the video link I posted earlier in this thread- the Empire State Building, Army tanks, Santa's sled...

This event is free to any skier or rider (12 years old or older) that has a valid lift ticket or season pass. Registration will be held at the ski school desk from 10am-12pm and the Derby will begin at 1pm on the Sunbowl. Subaru "Master the Mountain" Saturday & Sunday - Complimentary ski and snowboard tips, mini-lessons and the opportunity to view the entire lineup of 2008 Subaru vehicles. There will be Prizes and giveaways at the Subaru tent throughout the day. Slide Ink Rail Jam Sunday - Open jam format competition in the Rhodo Terrain Park at 11am. Registration at the ski school desk from 8:30am-10am with practice beginning at 10:30. Registration fee is $35 (includes a lift ticket, $10 fee for passholders).   19. Glenn is correct about the 7 elements of the Responsibility Code. A Platinum Card is a fully transferable card that is pre-loaded with 8 open-to-close lift tickets valid any day of the season. The tickets can be used all on one day, or spread out throughout the season. I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with! The safety tip for the day is: You must not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.

In honor of National Safety Awareness Week (Jan 19-25), we have started a contest on YouTube to submit your best video which covers all 7 aspects of the Responsibility Code. 1st place will receive a Platinum Card for the 2008/2009 winter season! Details of the contest: * videos can be created by an individual or a team * videos must be made at Camelback * videos must contain all 7 elements of the Responsibility Code * videos must be submitted by Friday February 29, 2008 To submit your video, visit www.youtube.com/group/cbkcontests, join our group and upload your best work.   21. All of our Burton rental snowboards have strap-in bindings. As long as your board has strap-in bindings, you can rent just snowboard boots. It is $20 for a boot-only rental, which you can purchase at ticket sales when you arrive.

  23. I've noticed some confusion about when season passes can be used during the time before night skiing. I want to clarify for everyone which passes can be used when. Saturday December 8, 2007 (Opening Day) - open 8am-5pm: ALL types of passholders can ski and ride (in celebration of the kick-off to our 45th season) Sunday December 9 - Thursday December 13- open 8am-5pm: ALL types of passholders can ski and ride (Unlimited and Sun-Fri & Nights passes would be valid anyway, plus Nights Only can be used because we are not open for night skiing) Beginning Friday December 14 - open 8am-10pm: regular passholder restrictions apply If you need any further clarification, please feel free to call us at 570.629.1661.   24. Camelback will open for it's 45th winter season on Saturday December 8, 2007! We will be open from 8am-5pm with 18 trails, representating terrain for all abilities. The 8 foot Burton Progressive Halfpipe will open on Saturday. This will be the only Halfpipe open in the Mid-Atlantic region! The Laurel Glade Burton Progressive Terrain Park will also open on Saturday with a variety of rails, boxes and other features. In honor of our 45th birthday, all season passholders will be able to ski and ride on opening day, regardless of the type of pass that you have. Night Only passholders can ski and ride during the day until Thursday December 13, 2007. We will begin night skiing on Friday December 14, 2007. Regular pass restrictions apply beginning Sunday December 9, 2007 for Sun-Fri & Nights passholders. The Snowtubing Park will begin weekend-only operations on Saturday December 8, 2007 and will be open 9am-5pm.   25. The Ski & Snowboard Service Center (Repair Shop) at Camelback Ski Area is currently looking for a part-time technician. Available hours are Mon-Wed-Sun 4-9pm and Fri-Sat 4-10pm. Great pay and benefits- including a free Sun-Fri Season Pass, tubing park privileges PLUS lift tickets you can give to your family/friends!
