  1. Snow was pretty good and crowds were pretty light from open until around 11:30 or so when it started to get packed.  Fun little park setup but with all the people hiking it got annoying by mid day to lap through there.  Took a break from around 12:30 - 2:30 for a liquid lunch and then headed back out for a few runs to finish the day on Sat.  Then did a quick open to 11 session on Sunday before heading back.  Definitely worth the drive to get on the snow.  Legs felt great and got my new setups dialed in.  Looks like they will be getting more terrain open in the next few days / week.  I would recommend it if you can't wait for local spots to open.

  2. Burton71 I thought u were rich and isn't six hours enough time for Blue? I'd think with slumming it at bear creek you'd hit Blue every chance you got.

Some days its enough...others it isn't.  I wouldn't say I'm rich but I do OK for myself...mostly by not paying double the price for what things are worth.

I usually hit up Blue once or twice a season for a mid week open until about 5pm session and then once or twice for weekend morning sessions before the stupid crowds show up.  I'll probably hit the weekend sessions but the mid week is out at the price they want.  $110 + lunch and bar tab would probably be close to my season pass price...fuck that.

  3. Not that I would ever ski more, but I really don't see what they gain by limiting people to 6 hours. If anything it will get people to spend less time taking a break to eat and drink, which is not in their interest.

Yep, its a pretty damn stupid step up they way they have it.

If they were smart they would have an all day pass for a reasonable price and then a flex 4 or 6 hour pass to use whenever you want.

Probably going to scratch Blue off the list this year unless I score some vouchers.  Definitely not going to pay $110 for a mid week day trip.

  4. Skiing till 10am has nothing to do with being in shape. It's when the crowds and conditions get bad on busy weekend days at blue. Honestly nowhere else but on PASR do people put down fat people. When I'm at karaoke or out and about in Allentown I am

Well liked by everybody. burton71 I don't even know what u look like all I know

Is that you are wealthy like most PASRs and cheap like most PASRs.

Congrats on being liked in Allentown...I'm sure that is quite the accomplishment.

And I'm the least cheap person I know.

  5. Just curious, why would you want a loan that long? I get it when your interest rate is 0, but if it's not, and you've got the money, why not just own it outright? I had a good interest rate on my subi, with a 5 year loan, but by putting half down and paying more than the minimum each month, I paid it off in 3 years and saved about 3k by doing so over the life of the loan.

With stupid low car loan interest rates your money is better off invested in something else at an easily much higher return.

  6. I've driven a bunch of stuff over the last 10 days and here's my short list:

2014 Dodge Durango RT and Citadel

    2015 Ford Explorer Sport

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit and Overland

    2015 MB ML 350

All are in the 50-65K range and have adaptive cruise control, navigation and rear entertainment. I'm leaning towards the Jeep. It's the sportiest and probably would go through deep water, snow and over curbs the best.

Out of those go with the Jeep unless you need a 3rd row then go with the Ford.

Maybe check out the MDX if you haven't yet.  Excellent reliability and tech with a bunch of room inside and drives like car.
