  1. Man, I hate to say it but I was watching the projected weather for down here and they were saying conditions are similar to winter 2001/2002, a warm winter down here. That was a rotten winter in the NE. CB didn't open 'til Christmas week with only 3 trails. And that was lost a week later in a warm rain. I hope they're wrong. I want to get out of here and head north. PRAY FOR SNOW!!!
  2. I always hated the dreaded "Elk Mobile" at the end of a long day of skiing.
  3. Having had a run in with a grizzly in the northwest corner of Wyoming while fly fishing in 1968, I can attest to thier orneriest. Two campers were ambushed and killed shortly after that the same year. Definetely not a nice bear to be near.
  4. 75 and sunny. Still using the pool and water skiing although a shorty is nice while skiing. Manatees are starting to move back inshore which sux since that results in a lot of idle zones in the rivers. Gators and snakes aren't as active in the lakes.
  5. They do ski just up the road from Chicago in Wisconsin. My partner was assigned out here for a while and confirmed they ski on refurbished garbage dumps. NO KIDDING!!
  6. Hey, they even showed it snowing in the Pocs on the 5 o'clock news tonite down here. They showed a ski area but I couldn't ID the area from the footage they used. AND I'M STUCK DOWN HERE!!!
  7. I WANT MY TWO DOLLARS!!! That's classic ski999.
  8. Having gone thru the knee surgery and all that goes with strenthening the knee for skiing every season which doesn't get any easier as you get older, I prefer a lighter ski. Usually on any given day, it performs well enough without causing fatigue. When those spring conditions come around, give me a pair of Volants any day. That heavy stiff ski will go thru anything at the price of fatigue fairly quick. I always have my Atomics and Volants with me . you never know when a quick change will be necessary. PAX
  9. It all boils down to where the cell towers are. Verizon owns theirs as does Nextel and T mobile. I think A T & T only owns towers in certain areas and lease tower transmission in other areas. I personally never had any luck with them. Best luck has been with T mobile and now Nextel. Had no problems on the trek north outta Margaritaville to CB . Like AMEX, I don't leave home without 'em.
