  1. Hi everyone, Good news for all you Park Rats. They are widening the top part of Sidewinder. If they do it all the way to the Wall Ride, I forsee a rhythm section with 3 progressively bigger Booters. Also we bought a new Park Bully 300. And the best Groomer driver I know, [And believe me I've seen a few], Danny, attended Cutter Camp this spring at Mt. Hood again. We are gonna build more rails this summer. What they are is a secret, but I can say that they are going to be long and oh so mellow.... Also Max and Sabia are at my Summer Camp in France this summer , so they are coming back with new ideas. All in all Sidewinder Park is gonna step it up. We have the terrain and forward thinking management to make Sidewinder as good and sick as anywhere else. Just pray for cold and snow.!!! Have a good summer Y'all. Keith.
  2. i unfortunatly was one of the people that didn't get to practice which was lamo but i heard from some people the practice was more fun than the actual 'jam' itself, but i wouldn't know, then i got one run and that was it... but oh well. I hear you. Next time it will start earlier, and maybe we will put a rail on the Blue Mt. Shuttle and drag it down on Vista..
  3. Hi, This is Keith. I am in charge of Park Crue. I have had lots of feedback about the Rail Jam & Slopestyle. Most of it was good. 1.The set up of the rails = Good. People loved the rails, but as Jeenyus says speed was a problem . This can be corrected by moving it down the slope a little. 2. The Sound System, announcer and the way the spectators were coralled and safe from the rest of the slope - Good. The spectators had a ball, and all the comments so far from them are very positive. The equipment reps said that it was like a pro event... Now, the negative. The age groups: Shoulda been 14 & over Boarders and skiers, 13 & under Boarders & skiers. [4 1st prizes] We also made the mistake of starting the contest late in the day. Next time, we will start earlier, there will be 4 different color bibs[For the 4 Categories} and it will be a freeforall jam for maybe 2 hours or more. That way every body can have more than 1 opportunity to throw it down. As for the Slopestyle, I have not seen Sidewinder look so perfect this year. It was a beautiful day and the snow started to soften up as the day wore on. We basically wanted to have 6 hittable features per run. There were at least 2 lines to take and you had the opportunity to hit the smaller or huge jumps. Some people complained that the jumps were too big, but really the larger of the smaller jumps was maxed out at 45ft. Little Lucas Wehr [age10] was easily clearing it. Better watch out, some of the up and coming Blue Mt. groms are killing it. It stands to reason, they have a big Mountain park to play in!! All in all it wasn't a bad 1st Shredfest. We are learning and the next one will hopefully be bigger and better. I look forward to all your feedback. Keep it coming. Thanks
  4. The Slopestyle will start where the Sharkfin is. The rails are smooth straight boxes app. 12" wide. We hwve a PA system and music for the Rail Jam tomorrow. A ton of swag will also be raffled in addition to the prizes. We also have guest commentators. If any of you feel up to commentating let Park Crue know. This contest should be mad steezy....
  5. The Slopestyle is going to start where the Sharkfin used to be, and end at the big booter before the stairs. There will be a couple of different lines. We will be adding new rails and features. We are looking for perfectly set up features and flow. Spectators will be allowed to ride down the slope. We hear that a lot of MC and BC kids are coming to compete. good luck to all.
  6. Shredfest 1 March 4 & 5 Many of you have asked about the format etc. 1. the boarder/skiercross will be run on Raceway on Sat. morning. Ed Preece will be running it as usual. The feedback we got from the last one was very positive. The course flowed well and a lot of fun was had. Nestors have been very generous and have supplied some great prizes. 2. The Palmer Rail Jam will be held on Vista on Sat. evening. We have built some smooth straight rails especially for this event. The main rail is a 20ft. staright with a gap onto 20ft. down. we are also doing a smaller 15ft. straight rail with a smaller easier gap for all the 13 & under groms. Palmer are supplying the prizes and they will be given out as follows: Best trick ski Best trick snowboard Best trick ski 13 & under Best trick snowboard 13 & under There will not be a separate womens category. So girls, you will be throwing down with the best of them. There will also be a raffle after the event so do not throw away your bibs. 3. The Slopestyle Championship is going to be killer. We are setting it up in the middle of Sidewinder, with due consideration for snowboarders and skiers. If you have the skills and the incentive, we have a small cash prize, trophies and a ton of swag. Coke is also in the lodge with "Vault" and a snowboard simulator, and live music is provided by the band "Asking Andy" All 3 events are going to be spectator friendly and we hope a lot of you compete and join in the fun this weekend. We would sure appreciate your support to make this a successful event, so we can have many more.
