  1. It was a quick job as there was so much else to groom and push around We will be back asap to fine tune some of the lips and stuff. Cannot wait to build Sidewinder and Terrain Run. Seems like the weather is finally starting to behave.
  2. Yes I listen to this banter once in a while. Going up there tonite with Sabia to help Danny set up Come around. Hope we have plenty of snow.
  3. . what could be considered the terrain park was rediculous. one shoulder high jump that was beyond neglected, and 2 rails? so the big parks aren't up and running yet, ok.. but maybe try putting in a few more features? maybe try maintaining the few that you have available? what i assume was park 'crue' was standing next to one flat box the whole time i was there, yet landings were badly rutted and lips were choppy and soft. basically, when it comes down to it, rakes/shovels aren't canes to hold yourself up on.. they're tools to work with to make features for customers to use. . Yo BC local. I am sorry you did not have a great experience at Blue. The warm weather and and high traffic makes it very difficult to keep lips and landings perfect. Park Crue was there and did a wonderful job to keep the features rideable, considering the weather, and , just as relevant, the insane traffic. When the Crue finish grooming a lip or a landing, they do lean on their rakes and watch people ride the feature, and maybe even test it out themselves. Whats to hate? I did a count on the flat box when I was filming on Saturday, and at one time, there were 2 kids a minute hitting it. I know some of the kids at BC, [Justin Mullen, Boyer ] and we at Blue give you guys props for stepping up the park. This weather is killing us all slowly, so lets all just get along. I hope you come back to Blue when the conditions are better. We would like you to take home some good memories.
  4. The C box is made to be set up on a bank. It will be like a wall ride, except its not. The down flat down interrupted S rail could turn out to be a whole lotta fun. It is the only rail of its kind in the world. Hey, at least we are original !!
  5. Shadows, the rail is only 9" wide. So it is skirted. However, it is is constructed so that the plywood covers the supports, making it a smooth surface.
  6. SPORE : Stupid person on rental equipment. Old ski school term. The bus is almost resdy to go. looking sweet. By the way, the rail on top of the bus is getting boxed in.
  7. That sliding board is the sweetest rail. And as for the bus, you have a good amount of space on either side to put on your buttering skills. JUST PRAY GLOBAL WARMING doesnt screw all our plans!! Oh, and we have snow guns on both sides. Shit load of capacity.
  8. The bus is a butterbox with a rail in the middle. Jump on/jump off. There is a 8 ft. wide buttering surface under the 8. Inch rail
  9. What's going on my brothers and sistahs, Check out our new myspace site here. http://www.myspace.com/bluemtparkcrue Feel free to tell us what you think.
  10. The word "gaper" originates from the verb " To Gape." It means to stare in astonishment. As in the the English : He gaped incredulously at her soft, bouncy bosom. Therefore gapers are basically voyeurs..
  11. I have some info about Sidewinder Park. The trail has been widened x3. It is as wide and in places wider than Paradise. The 45 new york snowguns are installed on riders left as you go down. They are 60 ft. apart. the old snow guns will work the riders right. The new guns have triple the snow blowing capacity of the old guns. Josh from Sunday River is coming down soon to help us with the new features. I know a lot of you are worried, but let me assure you that we have some really exciting stuff in the works. Bottom line, we are designing this park to be fun, challenging and very smooth. Park Passes will not be instituted. We are still considering some sort of "deterrent" at the start, to discourage opportunists . It would be great if you all can use this thread to convey your ideas. Please be civil to each other . so that it is not locked down again. Thanks, and pray for cold.
  12. Doug, it doesn't mattter if you prefer hard or soft boots. I was just speaking generically. I am going to talk with the race dept. and see if they can set up snowboarding gates for Nastar. It sure hurts to smack Ski gates which are are over 6 ft. high. Either with your butt or face. Not good.
  13. We are gonna be settin up gates every Friday evening. I hope lots of you Parkies join up. If there are a lot of you, we can hit up the park in our tight suits and buzz all the railriders and cut them off just as they are about to hit up a rail !!
  14. Snowboarding Gates Clinics on Friday evenings. We are starting a racing clinic on Friday evenings. If anyone is interested in learning and practicing Slalom and GS technique, join up. I will post what the costs are and when this program starts. If you know of hardbooters who would be interested, pass this on.
  15. Hey, I can name a couple of groms who would give any of you open classers a run for your money. Besides, if everyone has a chance to win , we would attract a lot more competitors, which is the name of the game. This comp is not for Pro riders, its for the local talent to show up and throw it down. I am sorry DH thinks this comp reeks of amateurism. When it's all over, I think he will be proven wrong.
  16. Man you guys are such a bunch of girly whiners. We give you a comp to take the tedium out of the weekday; give you 8 mofoing divisions, so everyone can compete. Offer each winner of a division a trophy and a decent prize and then one of the 8 winners walks away with a $1,000 bux. I guess you cannot please all the people all the time. Deal with it people. You have a good local series like everyone wanted, you know we are gonna pull out all the stops to make it very professional and fun, and this will attract good riders to our mountain. Things this year are gonna be sooo good. You should all be doing backflips, instead of constantly playing Devils advocate....You Devils!!! Personally, I cannot wait for December. ......
  17. I wish we had 8,000 smackers to give away.
  18. There will be 8 winners.... 8 divisions. Only 1 will get the $1,000. do you savvy?
  19. TUESDAY NITE FEVER Divisions: [Open, 14&over, 13&under, women.] SNOWBOARD [ Ditto ] SKI. Start : 1st Tuesday in Jan 2007. And 3 more subsequently. If you win in your category, you make it you the finals, which will be held in Feb. So you have 4 chances to compete to try make the finals. In the finals, the winners of all 8 divisions will receive a trophy and prizes. Then the names of all 8 winners will be put in a hat and one name will be drawn out. This lucky person will win a $1,000 voucher for a shopping spree at Amateur Athlete. P.S. Amateur Athlete are being super generous in sponsoring this comp. Even though they do not yet sell skis, they sell dope apparel and accessories for all you homebodies. So go there and show your appreciation, and give them your business. As for PP's, Stevo : What can I say ? It's a delicate subject that is being discussed. You guys will be the first to know if there is any news.
  20. Yes Amateur Athlete is gonna sponsor The Tuesday Nite Fever. Grand prize is $1,000.00 in a gift voucher to be spent on whatever you desire from the store. Plenty of other prizes by equipment and apparel sponsors. And we thought we could keep this quiet until the brochure was printed !!
  21. Why cancel? Do you compete? Park passes are tuff. If we have decent weather, than the snow can be worked. Lighting will be inproved.
  22. We are calling it "Tuesday Nite Fever" Hooking up some mad sponsers, and an awesome grand prize. This is gonna be loads of fun.
  23. So, we're having a Tuesday nite series. Starting in the middle of Jan. Everybody will have 4 chances to qualify for the Finals. So 4 Tuesday nites and then the qualifiers compete in the finals. I need your input on how to breakdown the age groups. I'm thinking 14 & over, 13 & under and women. Trying to get a mega cash prize for winner. Keith.
  24. Thanks for the good words. Trev, I'm gonna set up a meeting in August when everybody is back from France. Will mosdef let you know. I don't think wind will be an issue on the new part of Sidewinder. Also have you guys noticed how the snow on Razors is always decent?... State of the art snow guns. We will have some new ones on Sidewinder next year. Tables v. Cheesewedge : No Park passes means every Tom, Dick & Harriet WILL enter the park and gape. If every jump was a table, these guys will insist on riding over them, and if they are older 2 plankers make some turns on them, just for the hell of it. Maintaining lips & landings, when the snow has turned into granular is difficult. Once you ride over a 10' cheese wedge and jar your knees and spine, you kinda think twice before doing it again, unless you clear it. The point about longer steeper landings is valid and we will address it. This is not to say that we will not have table tops. And Toast, I too like the idea of mound of snow with a lip in front of it. Anyways, thanks for the input. We are listening.!!
  25. What's up Trev. You gonna work for me next year ? You guys should keep this thread going. I want all your ideas and desires for Blue. Because, we do listen to to what you guys want, and will try to accomodate, if it is feasible. So keep it coming.
