  1. Went to Blue Knob for the 1st time today and I couldn't have been anymore disappointed. For all the hype I've heard about the great terrain they had I found it to be half-ass at best. It looks like the mountain was just randomly thrown together with no planning whatsoever. Ice patches were to be found all over the mountain, and I don't even want to get into how unbelievably SLOW the lifts were. I'm beginning to think a tow-cable would be better. No wonder why the place is never crowded, it's terrible. Terrain park consisted of 3 gap on rails that not only had no lips but also were not even planted in the snow properly. I somehow reached the one rail and when I hit it it started to come out of the snow, great work Blue Knob. Sorry to sound so negative but I'm just trying to give my honest opinion. Blue Knob is one mountain that I will never go to again.
  2. Hello all first post in this forum, I'm about an hour away from Blue Knob and I'm wondering if it's going to be packed this weekend due to the Holiday. I was going to to go JFBB or Blue mountain for the weekend but I am afraid it's going to way to crowded to be enjoyable. Will the conditions at Blue Knob be good this weekend with all the manmade snow they are blowing. Also I am a boarder and enjoy a park does Blue Knob have any type of park this year?
  3. Hey all long time lurker on the forum but here's a post. I left my house at 6:45 with my neighbor and we were off to the boot. Traffic couldn't have been more agreeable. Nothing bad except a little slow on 22. Anyways after booting up in the parking lot we had our tickets bought and got to the scanner 5 mins early. The clock at the scanning booth said 830 so we started to walk on and were stopped by the scanner. He pointed behind us and said that clock is the official "Blue Mountain clock". Anyways we were #2 and 3 to be scanned in and we sprinted off for 1st chair. Tom slipped on the way so waiting for him forced us to settle for chair #2. However, arrivng at the top we could see the 1st guy up was still playing around with his skis so we were off the Razor's to warm up. Could the snow have been any better? It was the best groomed snow I have ever seen from Blue. It was so perfect I can't even describe. Run #2 took us to the park. This was my 1st time at Blue this year since the mountain has been 100% opened and I was quite impressed by the park. Throughout the day I hit everything except the roller coaster, and the "season ending booter." After run 25 we lost count and said fuck it and just continued having the time of our life. I don't really know anyone on the forum but I think I saw atomicjeff decked out in all black? Doug, I think I saw you too. I remember falling near the big booter and someone came by and was like "woah there." I apologized to that skier and he said "Don't worry about it just have fun out there..." or something like that. Anyways after 11hours (yes 11) on the hill we were ready for our trek back home. Today was just the day I needed for my spring break. Everything was perfect all day. Great job Blue. Everyone enjoy the rest of the season.
  4. Today was great Doug. I think I covered every trail but Burma/Paradise and I thought the snow was great on every trail.
  5. Hey there! I've been a lurker for a couple of weeks but I finally decided to register so this is my 1st post. I got in the parking lot at 7am today and just chilled in the car until about 7:20. I got to the lower lodge ticket check around 7:25am and there were 2 skiers there (Doug and Atomic?) who beat me for the 1st lift up. I had to settle for the 2nd chair. Anyways today might have been my favorite day of the year if it wasn't for the big bad wind. I thought the snow on razors was amazing before they shut it down for the race team. I also enjoyed tucking challenge all morning. Anyways I usually wear black pants blue jacket with a long(166cm)snowboard. Hopefully I can meet up with some of you guys next Saturday bright and early.
