  1. As of 2pm when I left they had finished grooming the snow out. I guess it shouldn't be too long before they set the park.
  2. The small park started out with a bowl set into a large snow bank with a c-rail up top. Next was an X-Box and C-Rail. The third hit was a choice of three a straight rail(mailbox), down rail, flat down box. The fourth hit was again a choice of either a small rainbow, a flat rail, or a table. The next hit was about a 15' kicker with quite a bit of pop. It wasn't bad but not great imo. And lastly was another table setup. I think that was everything. If I am missing something maybe someone can help. The large park looks like it has quite a few large hits and plenty of room for rails and whatever else they decide to include. Hopefully they set it up well because they made a ton of snow on it.
  3. Here goes my first trip report. Rolled into the lot around 7:55 am. Not to many cars in the lot which was a sign of things to come. We took a few warm ups on the top of the mountain and scoped out the park as it was closed for the first hour or so for grooming. For most of the day we lapped the northface. The snow was quite soft but held up well. It was very carveable and made for an enjoyable day. WL was bumped up and made for some interesing runs to break up the monotony of the other NF slopes. Hopefully it will get cold again so they can open more terrain. All in all a great day at Sno.
  4. Definitely. I was there this morning and it looked like they dusted most of the open terrain with more snow and concentrated most of the effort on the base area and park area. The larger park was groomed out today so I guess they are going to open it soon. Fastrack and Runaway are going to to need quite a bit of snow before they are open.
  5. They are setup like real picnic tables because that's what they are . They are just like the tables in XNick11's sig.
  6. I agree completely. The snow was great on Sunday and the crowds were non-existent. I enjoyed it so much I will be back again. Compared to what I remember of Montage the last time I was there (10 yrs ago) the new ownership is headed in the right direction. Now they just need some new lifts.
  7. I agree totally. I was there today and the park was enjoyable in the morning when nobody was there riding. As the day wore on there were more idiots rolling through and mucking it up for people who actually were trying features. It seemed that people were rolling the lips on the first two jumps. I agree the step up needs to go and should be replaced with another hit like the first which was the best feature in the park imo. The new snowmaking system seems to live up to the hype. The coverage and base depth were great. Some trails could use a couple more days of grooming but overall it was a good day at Sno.
  8. I dunno but it only topped out around 31 here in philadelphia today.
  9. I am looking at the weather right now and it is 22 degrees with 45% humidity which equals a wet bulb of somewhere between 16 and 20 degrees according to this: http://www.skibearcreek.com/winter/winter_...ortwetbulb.aspx I see no reason why JFBB should not be making snow at this point unless they are having equipment problems or something unforseen. These next few days are prime snowmaking oppurtunities and imo should not be missed given the previous stretch of warm weather.
  10. It isn't suprising though. With good snowmaking days so few and far between it is suprising they made it as long as they have. However, it looks as if temps are going to cool off after this weekend and hopefully BC, blue, CB, etc can make some snow and finish off the season on a good note. This warm weather is not a new thing either. I was listening to the radio this morning on my way to work and in 1998 Philadelphia received 7/10 " of snow for the entire season, plus it was quite warm.
  11. The forecast shows marginal temps for tonight depending on the humidity. Snowmaking is all dependent upon the wet bulb temperature which is a measure of the temperature and the humidity. Here is the forecast from accuweather and it looks like the 9th or 10th will be the next possible snowmaking period. http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast-15day...62&metric=0

    Rumors...

Rumors are just that.....rumors. I doubt they are bankrupt although this crappy winter season has so far hurt most resorts. However, with all the money that has been pumped into BC recently I doubt the ownership would allow BC to go bankrupt.
  13. Just hope and pray the weather gets colder so BC can make snow. Remember BC is farther south than other mountains and therefore may not be able to make snow when other places farther north can make snow. I was looking at the upcoming 15 day forecast and it looks like temps are going to be more seasonable next week. However, the bad news is it looks like they are forecasting a few days of rain. Hopefully the forecasters are wrong and it gets cold enough for some natural snow to help the situtation. I can remember back in the late 90's when this area had some crappy winters where the mountains really suffered due to abnormally warm winters caused by the EL NINO. Imo we will have our share of cold weather and snow this season. Hopefully, sooner than later.
  14. As far as I know there is no public transit anywhere near BC. It is either find a ride, drive yourself, or thumb it.
