We went today after lunchtime. Managed to miss the storms for an hour and a half, and there were probably 25 people total on the mountain, which was awesome.

I was hoping to get out on Sunday but the weather didn't cooperate anyway. Hopefully this Sunday
Spoiled the first ever November Sausage Sunday, too

Also, I wanted to make the joke about Elk’s expertise.

Why does everybody care about landscaping on the bunny hill.
How else are we going to get this thread to 100 pages before the lift opens?

i fully expected to see the same thing where it drops down into the learning area skiers right of the big patrol building where the doubles used to be. was surprised to see nothing there.
I’m sure there’s just nothing there yet. Either they will plant some trees, or plant some snow fencing. I’m betting they just haven’t done it yet for access.

Blue and CB kind of makes sense after the management merge.
But who knows. They already have Montage and Shawnee in the similar area.
Maybe 7 springs...
7 Springs is Epic. It’s gonna be Sawmill.

Announcing a new PA add to IndyPass tomorrow.
Will Camelback become one of the cool kids?
My money is on Sawmill

New line of shrubs going across the new bottom of the school hill where the lift goes over it, and the ground drops down for clearance. Wonder if they called in Elk for expert advisement?

The only thing I think I actually worry about is will my pass work at blue ? Every year that first scan feels like gambling but I'm hopeful this year I don't need a note or at least they get me a badge...... maybe nastarglenn could hook it up
They have a couple of test gates inside the lower lodge this year, which is awesome. One of my two kids' passes didn't work at the test gate on Friday, (I wasn't binging them up until Saturday so tested ahead) and when I went to the Customer Service counter they said it was showing he had a pass but needed a picture. I was sure happy to know that ahead of time instead of at the gate.

What a difference it is on coming soon vs paradise at night. Lights on coming soon are awesome, amazing, bestest lights I’ve ever seen on the slopes. Paradise lights are classic night riding at blue, although I somewhat enjoyed them for nostalgic purposes
That’s interesting. I thought the lights on Paradise were upgraded to the new LED lights.

Wow the rain is far away..Blue blew the call on this one.
On a day like today the decision to drop 4 hour tickets is a real detriment. They’re not gonna sell a ton of 8 hour tickets with the rain coming, but they could have opened for 6 hours, sold some 4 hour tickets and only had to run one 8 hour work shift.

Someone had a good idea to put it there. If it works out, it should be good for everyone.
I wonder if they'll still have features on Come Around or just keep everything right there?Later in the season? I’m sure Come Around will still be a park once they are ready to open it. And they’ll likely remove the features from the School Hill. It gets a decent amount of casual first timer use during the season. Parents helping their kids or boyfriends (or girlfriends) helping their SOs try to get the hang of it on an I’ll advised first date that they thought would be so cool but end up being a terrible idea because of course their boo has never done this before and nobody’s having a good time. It’s a nice setup for spectators who don’t participate to be right there next to slope to see the kiddos, something the valley school setup isn’t super conducive to

Kind of surprised they didn't bury these. Guess there wasn't time . . .

Crane is outta there, working on the juice lines now

easy out
Also, if someone really wanted to be a troll they could comment on Blue's Facebook page something like "Will we have to take the quad to ski Free Solo and the OG6 to ski Paradise, since Sky Top isn't listed on the expected open trails?"
I bet that would prompt them to add it. They don't want to leave trail count on the table.

Blue gets more natural snow than Camelback, despite being more southerly and lower elevation, due to lake effect snow from Beltzville Lake. It's not fair to criticize Camelback because they don't get natural lake effect snow from Beltzville Lake. And Camelback has snowtubing open this weekend which is so rad!!!
3 minutes ago, GrilledSteezeSandwich said:I’m gonna say you’re wrong. Camelback receives more natural snowfall for two reasons and these two reasons only. Camelback is farther north and it’s at a higher elevation.
Also, don't discount the wave pool effect snow.

All three days. If the weather is 90% chance of steady rain, likely no Sausage Sunday.

A couple of my coaster friends (a married couple) rave about this place. Every room has a different theme. I think their favorite is Gone With the Wind themed, called like Maria's Curtains or something like that
