  1. Killington did take their park to new level. but their parks are all spread out. i liked okemo and bear creek.

Yeah thats true, but it's okay with me because when I'm there I usually freeski a while then hit the closest park then freeski a while and repeat. Plus for me last year, their top to bottom intermediate park was perfect for me to progress in. They had just enough big and small jumps to practice new tricks over and some pretty cool boxes and rails setup, some hips, general goodness all around. I enjoyed myself in there and rode it for a long time.

  2. Steeze insists that a couple of rails in the parking lot we saw last week were new (recondidtioned) and either they are new to CB or they really look different out of the snow. He skied there 10 days last year, so I am going to err on the side of being positive and start a potential rumor and say that there is a battleship and a flat down flat in the parking lot.

We'll snoop around today. I met the head of security last week, I told him I would be back

I can kinda get away with some things younger people can't

    Story at 11 :rock

Oh baby. Camelback definently has never had a flat down flat rail, so if steeze saw one of those, that's definently new. They did have a battleship, but if this one he saw was wider than an inch and not a piece of crap, it's new too. Looking forward to your story at 11, haha.

  3. Going straight across is really easy. Grinding across sideways is much harder because you have the natural tendency to lean backwards while sliding sideways. If do this on snow because if you don't you'll flip forward. If you lean back on a box, you'll fall on your side. Thats what makes them hard.

I am very pleased that CB is stepping it up this year (never thought I'd say that...) and I hope that you are right mtnbiker, I'd love some new rails.

  4. Rising Into the Air: What are they building? Don't go climbing the walls trying to figure this one out?we'll tell you soon enough.

Haha, I'll laugh when I turns out to be a rock climbing wall for Camelbeach in the middle of a trail. Seriously though, if it is a wall-ride, I'd be very impressed and pleased.

  5. Ill jump in and say MC was my first true home... they were ranked 4th on the East Coast in terrain parks this year by Freeze mag. I don't exactly know the numbers for transworld, ill agree that there is not too much intermediate terrain, its mainly advanced... but the setups are perfect. honestly people there are diffrent ways to set features up, and street style was the hype last year at creek, so the kickers were suppost to be mellow. Shawn Orecchio (park director at creek) knows what hes doing, ive sat down with him and chatted and he knows his stuff. I havn't been to bear yet so im not saying a word about their parks but i really wanna make the trip. I work for a Park now in PA, but my roots and experience is a good 70% dirrrty jerz.

Shit sorry... this was suppost to be made by PARKBUILDER.... looks like my bro was on b4 and left his name on! My B

Yeah, many of my snowboarding friends liked it quite a bit, but I just thought it would be way better if they just made the kickers bigger. I mean, I like to gap onto rails, but I don't like to jump as hard as I possibly can just to barely squeak onto the rail. It may have just been an off day. It was really icy and they might have not been able to reshape the kicks correctly with the conditions.

  6. Head of the class?

    What class? Pennsylvania?

You guys can hype up yourselves up all you want, but theres no way you are in the same league as mountain creek.

Wow, why bother coming here first off.

Second off, most people who live around Bear Creek are about 2 1/2 - 3 hours away from Mountain Creek.

Third, I personally think Mountain Creeks park sucks compared to Bear Creeks, but thats just my personal opinion and you don't have to think the same thing. All I know is last time I went to Mountain Creek it was bad. Everything was rediciously big and setup horribly, which isn't a good combination. The kickers onto the rails were so low and worn away that it was almost impossible for skiers to gap on. The jumps were also poorly planned out. You couldn't get enough speed to clear them because the wind was so bad. There was no middle park either. I'm all for challenging features, but there is a way to do it, and then there is a way to screw it up.

Fourth I realize you're just trolling, but posting this is the same as someone going to a Mountain Creek message board and saying, "Head of the class? What class? New Jersey? You guys can hype up yourselves up [sic] all you want, but theres no way you are in the same league as Whistler Blackcomb / Okemo." Obviously, but are you really gonna drive/fly far away to go there everyday. No you're not.

    -----------

Anyway. Sounds great, I'm looking forward to this year. I love how you guys switch the park up all time, its a suprise everytime I come down there. I like the suggestion box idea too. Hopefully I'll see you guys up there this year, have fun with the park.

  7. Ah, I can't believe you guys aren't happy with two new advanced boxes. Sure, they might not be amazing or easy simple boxes, but did anyone here ever think they would see CB improve their park at all?

I'm going away to college next year, and I would have bet large sums of money that CB would not make a single step to upgrade their park while I was still around. They actually did do something though. Still if I want a crazy park I'm going to Bear Creek, but at least CB did something.

I mean they have a 40 foot wavy-flat rail, but it's do-able. They have a short flat box to practice base skills, and a nice but short mailbox rail. They also have the kink box, and then those cruddy rails that I never hit. Its not like they don't have anything but these 2 boxes. Its not great, but at least they are doing something.

Wow, I never thought I'd be defending CamelBack.

  8. Man I definently could of went for some of those crash pads. I'm tired of getting bruised on rails/boxes. A kid behind me wanted the crash pads sooo bad, it was pretty funny. Every time a number was called he was like, "All I want is the crash pads, come on please please please I want the crash pads." You guys gave away so much free stuff it was awesome. It seemed like everyone but me got some sweet stuff, but thats the way it goes. My sister got an awesome DNA shirt that was actually made for girls, so she's happy about that. It was nice to meet up with you all again, but I think the main question is:

    "Can I kick it?"

  9. ahhhhhhh... I hate you! Haha not really but man that sounds like so much fun. Top to bottom runs in October at Killington. I seriously considered making a run up there, but I unfortuantly realized I had about 5 obligations this weekend I couldn't blow off. Though I did consider it. Sounds like fun.

  10. i got the sickest boot, im stoked. saved me a bunch of money.

me and mike wilson didnt get along to well.

so then at the movie he threw some free stuff, and the first thing he throws, hits me in the dam face...

but overall, it was good. movie could have more park and rails, but it was good.

and technically i won three times, but they only gave me boots. im satisfied though :)

Edit: it also just happened to be my brithday yesterday.

How did you "not get along to well"? He seems like a pretty laid back guy.

LineSki: I was also there watching you climb up the pole. I was the guy in the black Mt. Bachelor sweatshirt laughing at you and Anthony (the other kid climbing the pole) trying to get the jacket. It was okay I guess, the movie wasn't the greatest, but what can you do. Looking forward to SH6. I'll see you all there.

  11. I second that. I absolutely love BCs park and I'm getting a season pass there this year even though its over an hour from my house. I'd love to see pictures of the new boxes and rails for this year too.

I'd say keep the nice flow that you had going from last year, which I'm sure you will. I would personally love to see even a very small version of this:

    cliffkick.gif

Thats from Level 1 Production's "Shanghai Six" by the way, but the point is, even a 4 foot off the ground one of those would be really fun, a 10 foot one would be insane. I love the gap on. There are barely any of those in Skiing/Boarding and I love that crap. If you guys built that, I would probably weep for joy in the middle of the park for an hour. Thats about all I can think of now. Thanks for asking our opinions.

  12. when i went to get my season pass, i asked the lady what they were doing to improve, and then asked here if i could see the rails that they have.

she said she had no idea what i was talking about. so hopefully she doesnt know anything

Haha, yeah I did the same thing. The first lady said, "I don't know" and shrugged her shoulders, but the lady behind her said "yes we did", and then I did a little dance, because I didn't believe it until that very moment. Hopefully they'll be good.

  13. post some pictures immediately alright?. i think i saw a paper article on you last year? is that correct? because i build boxes like you also and you claimed to have the only c box..... i had one last year and an s box. take a peek. if so, tell me where the session is and we can shred......http://garagecreation.tripod.com

Haha, no, that was us. We didn't claim to have the only C-Rainbow box, we just said (at the current time) that there weren't any C-Rainbows at our local ski areas. You can look at pics of what we had setup at our site below in the gallery. We hope to have more stuff setup this year.

Edit: Woooow! I just checked out what you guys have put together. That is some AWESOME stuff. Where did you guys get all that snow from first off, haha. We never got that much, I don't think at least. You guys have been using PVC for the coping? We've trying to figure out what we want to use for the side rails, looks like it works well. We were a little afraid our skis would dig in really hard and we'd break ourselves.

We had ambitious plans last year and had 30, 40, and 50 booters made of dirt ready to be covered and an 18 foot quarter pipe made of dirt to be covered, but our land got taken away. We had to relocate it to my friends backyard temporarily. We'll see what we can do this year. I am super impressed by your stuff, that S-Box is really nice. The jumps were awesome too. You've given me something to shoot for this year.

  14. I was told that the fake snow stuff should work well, and they had a bad batch that made gel. They said they were now sending out stuff that works well. Its suppose to be really good, but super expensive.

That is really cool, I liked the video. How much did that carpet end up costing in the end?
