they already updated on their website that they will be closing tonight until temperatues change and allow them to reopen ...aka they need to make more snow

Last night when I was there it didnt really seem that they groomed out the snow to give the trails even coverage. There were some areas that already had mud coming through before the rain even started last night. All this rain in the forcast doesnt look good for hte conditions Doug, didnt you say that Danger had made some prediction of us getting some snow soon? Another jinx or did it just get delayed for a few more weeks?

Why? They paid for a offpeak pass so why should get somehow get an unlimited pass for no extra money?

But light doesnt really reflect off dirt real well. I checked it earlier too and it was dirt and now it looks liek snow. I doubt it too that they made snow on it but for a second it got my hopes up. I guess you are right with it being the lighting. They should try to dim down the lighting so that in the future it doesnt fake looking like snow and get dumbasses hopes up like me.

Is it just my messed up laptop or are other people seeing snow on the timberline webcam? It looks like a decent amount but mark was saying in some thread that timberline wasnt their top snowmaking target b/c it requires other trails to be open to get to it.

damn, that ruined the first great idea ive had in a while on the other hand it is occasionally fun to mess with the police

These abandoned mountains actually gave me a good idea.... are any of these mountains still somewhat untouched with trails that are still ski/snowboardable? Say we get a storm that dumps enough snow to give a good enough base to ride on, would any of these mountains be ridable? Would beat going to a active mountain and have to deal with the crowds. Kinda like poaching runs but its not really poaching if the place is closed.

in the opening thread mark posted that they are pushing to open friday or saturday ...that would be sweet.

im constantly checking the webcams hoping to see them firing up the guns soon lets hope they can blow tonight and the next 2 or 3 nights to open by next week

Yeah thanks for finding it sno. Pretty weird how someone would sell it, and even weirder how someone would buy it for so much. Shipping for that probably would cost alot. Bear Rep, think you can manage to get some money to get some of that for us passholders to ride on? You could advertise that you are the only mountain on the east coast that has Colorado snow.

Should have done like a fundraiser to get money to buy some snow. I looked on ebay and I couldnt find the auction but I didn't do an indepth search, maybe someone else can find it.

Does anyone have any information about the Mountain Dew Vert Chal. at Big Boulder tomorrow? Like what time it starts at? And what exactly is it, a downhill race kind of like NASTAR?

Yeah I'll definately will be there on Jan 5, I just won tickets on the air for it.

Maybe that oil spring mt was leaking into their snow machines last year is making some difference in their snow this year? That would be sweet if oil could do that to snow. It would be the new trend in snowmaking.

Im making my first trip up to killington this week with my family so Im looking for any suggestions/advice and things to do after the mountain closes. FYI- Im 17, my sisters are 14 and 19 and both my parents are coming- so going to the bar is kinda outta the question. My parents want to do more family things and go out to dinner. What are some good places to eat? What are some places to make sure to avoid eating at? Any trails that I should make try to take a run on? they have something like 42 trails open last I checked Suggestions for driving up there from this area. We will be leaving tomorrow morning between 6 and 9ish so we will miss the worest of commuter rush hour. Any other ideas/advice? Thanks

With the opening of bear less than 3 days away has anyone or does anyone know what trails they will open with, or if they will have all ready. Are they only going to have trails like kodiak and black bear and trails that are serviceable by the B quad or will they get the F quad and surrounding trails ready too. Maybe get someone from BC with real info to respond?
