  1. Day 2 Opening day for the 2007-2008 season went off great! The season started with a lot of sun and packed powder conditions with a great variety of terrain open, including several park features and the half pipe. For Today: Laurel Park features
  2. Camelback will open for the 2007-2008 season on Saturday December 8th! Skiing and riding will be from 8 am until 5 pm.
  3. Thanks to everyone that posted a guess!! Now we'll wait for the cold air and snowmaking to pick the winner. As of right now -- I see the lights are on and only assume that the snowmakers are at work!!
  4. Rolling out another contest!! Same prizes: Pair of lift tickets, tune and $20 Gift Certificate to "The Jubilee" in Pocono Pines -- the best breakfast around!! Same Rules: I make them, and it's case by case as needed. Post the DAY that Camelback will open??? No two posts can be the same, make only one entry ---- and the deadline is by midnight Thanksgiving Day 2007. Be quick --- there are not too many dates to pick from... Again-- thanks to all that posted for the "Start of Snowmaking" and let's have a little fun while we wait for the cold temps to return (Friday night??)
  5. By my estimate and review of the Posts --DiMeThcOne with the guess of 11/15 at 8-9 pm was the closest (without being past) to the actual start of ----- 11/16 at 9:08 pm!! Thanks to all that participated in the contest! Keep thinkin snow!!!
  6. Entries for the contest is temporarly suspended --- We have announced that tonight is the start of snowmaking. I'll post more and the winner later.. Thanks
  7. As a clarification to IrishSnow686 Q's? Let's keep it simple -- post one Date and Time. Thanks to all that have posted so far!
  8. That's a great question. A "test" doesn't count. The spirit of the meaning "making snow" means an earnest attempt to make snow for the start of the season. And again, I am the judge between the difference. Thanks again for the question....
  9. Come on -- where's all the entries? OK -- I'll up the prize... (1) Lift Ticket (1) Ski/Board Tune AND a $20 gift certificate to the Jubilee Restaurant, the best Breakfast in the Poconos, located in Pocono Pines!! Remember to give date and time.
  10. Not sure about an Off-Piste Down Hill at CB? But a huge Skier/Boarder Cross might be cool? I skied at Blue last winter and had a good time running the Ski/board-Cross run/features. I think a cross route that's made big, top to bottom, would be alot of fun. Big rollers, banked turns, DH jumps, a few bumps and fast straights would work. Off-Piste scares me (as a event planner)...
  11. With all the talk of, "when will CB start to make snow?" I thought we might have a little contest to pass the time-- On this thread, post your guess for the start of snowmaking for the 07/08 Season? Your entry MUST HAVE A DATE AND TIME (both HOUR & MINUTE). As an example, my entry is for November 29th at 8:31 PM. The entry that is closest (but not past) the Date and Time wins. There can be no two exact entries -- so prior to submitting --- look at the other posts/entries. Only one person will be the winner -- and I am the judge and official recorder of the first snow gun starting up. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 21st at NOON. Prize = Complimentary Binding / Board Check and Tune and a Lift Ticket. Official Rules: All other rules, disclaimers, penalties and refereeing will be determined on a case by case basis (by me)! Let's have a little fun while we wait for the Artic Air to settle into the Poconos!
  12. When will Camelback start to make snow? The short term forecasts are calling for average temperatures for the month of November. For instance, the Thanksgiving Day averages for Tannersville, PA, are an average High of 48 and an average Low of 29. Early season is a hard bet for snowmaking
  13. Anyone thinking about winter? I am. Summer can
