  1. T Dur, you're funny. I'm kinda hoping this bit of snow will soften the park up a little tomorrow.
  2. bugger all about 3 inches where I am about 15 mins from Bear Creek in the hills around 800-1100 ft up
  3. the next two weeks look great! and the longer range gfs models look good too
  4. Darn, I wish they did that for the slopestyle event. I'd be thoroughly down for that.
  5. I predict next weekend will be pretty sick.
  6. the cliff is kinda a joke... except when they set the fdf off of it.
  7. the weather is going to SUCK somebody change it please?
  8. so the iced up trees made things look mad surreal at night, wish I'd have brought a camera
  9. After Christmas it looks like they'll be going off.
  10. Its in the 60s in Philly right now. I have my window open and t-shirt on and I feel quite comfortable.
  11. Dear god the weather report looks bad!
  12. PA weather is very fickle, and Bear Creek is in the worst spot for it down in Southeast PA. Every now and then we get a very good winter, but snow is more the exception than the rule most of the time.
  13. You mean its been like that forever in PA??
  14. What's with the ridiculous weather for the next two weeks? Damn storms are tracking straight across they're not riding up the coast. Stupid jet stream.....
  15. Is that old or just an error?
  16. When is/was Bear Creek technically open? Is it being counted from the first chair opening? If so that'd mean an opening on Dec 7th is the same as last year right?
  17. By MRG you dont mean Mad River Glen do you? I snowboard so thats out of the question.
  18. Anything in Vermont with good snow and terrain that's comparatively cheap? Like Whiteface cheap?
  19. Stowe sounds pretty killer right now... but what about prices? Remember, I am a poor college kid.
  20. Ok so I've narrowed it down to two destinations: Stowe/Smuggler's Notch, and Whiteface. Stowe has a reputation for being gnarly and it gets a ton of snow. Whiteface is a bit of a mystery, and I kinda feel like it'd be fun to see what its all about. It also gets a lot of snow, and it has 3,430 feet of vert... which is a hell of a lot of vert. Stowe would be about 30-40 dollars more expensive for two days. I haven't looked into lodging however. Anyone got feedback on the two?
  21. I'll bring a blanket? I only thought this would be necessary if I absolutely couldn't make the trip in one day and had to stop short. I guess that should be my next question then: how long does it usually take to get up to Vermont/New Hampshire? Has anyone driven it that can tell me? Oh, and I'll be going in January during semester break. I thought about December but I thought it was best to avoid the holiday crowds.
  22. Over semester break I was thinking: what would be better than a trip to some awesome mountain with awesome conditions, where it would just be awesome, all the time, upside down, on fire. Well I've been mulling this over for a while now. What I've figured is that I am definitely going by car, flying isn't gonna work. That basically means, no west coast, so I've got to stick to the right coast for this adventure. Now that I've narrowed down my options that far, I've gotta be economical about this. I was thinking New Hampshire, I heard Loon was going off last year so I wanted to check that out, and I hear New Hampshire gets more snow than Vermont, amounts that are comparable to some western resorts. Well anyways, my questions are: 1. Are their any kick ass places in Vermont that are affordable? 2. Is New Hampshire worth the extra jog north? 3. Are you allowed to sleep in your car by the side of the road? I shred too, but I'm really looking for a balance between a happening shred scene and some really nice snow and terrain to cruise about. Which is why I thought Loon might be ideal.
  23. Well hopefully when semester ends they'll have some good snow and all their terrain open. I think that's do-able by the weekend on the 20th/21st. I like taking breaks from the park to mess around on the rest of the hill.
  24. I hope they make some snow tonight. Looks like marginal weather from here until tue/wed of next week. Do you think they won't cuz of Turkey Day... is it like a law that snowmakers can't work or something??
  25. wowwwwwwww intense anyone have any idea what's going to be open over thanksgiving weekend?
