  1. Um, omg, Chippy, you forgot to mention the most important part of your day-- meeting me!! We'll def. have to ski together the next time you are at Sno!
  2. Ski, I thought I said no pics unless I looked good in them--no fair!!! I LOVE the one-legged pic of me and chippy though--sooooo hilarious. Thanks for taking them AND documenting my first time doing NASTAR. Very exciting.
  3. Pros: Usually pretty empty, I think the food is good, and the beer is cheap. Cons: Basically the same thing that everyone else has said. I'll add the website.
  4. Oh, how exciting! I don't know, I like to be able to find all of my information online. One-stop cyber shopping if you will. I am pleased to see that they tentatively have scheduled a women's clinic... it would be nice if you could click on the event and be provided with details on how to register, costs, times, etc... If they got a webcam and a new website, they could change their name to Melissa Midatlantic!
  5. I feel kind of stupid in that I never picked up on the whole "railroad theme" until just now... Apparently I'm not so swift...
  6. Agreed re: cannonball. That second headwall has given me trouble on more than one occassion! I swear, boomer is easier than Cannonball. Re: new map being easier to read--sort of, except for that beginner area. That just looks a little too cluttered and confusing.
  7. Webcam would be cool. Maybe you all could overhaul the website and add a webcam? I'd love to see more information on the website, like a calendar of events with details, etc., more info on lessons/clinics, and just stuff like that. Also, y'all don't have a working email address on that site. I tried to email once but it bounced back.
  8. Haha, I thought that too. The moose is a little cheesy for my tastes as well. Also, what is with the new "snake" theme for the new trails? Sidewinder? Rattler? Snake?
  9. Check it out... http://www.snomtn.com/statstrail/
  10. FWIW, Sno updated their conditions page... http://www.snomtn.com/conditions/
  11. Great news--I'm looking forward to those trails being open!
  12. Ditto! Let's start a petition... (maybe someone who is less lazy than I am could email Sno to let them know that this is a bad idea?)
  13. Wtf, seriously? If they want it to be a square square, whatever, but then they need to groom it. Also, sometimes I think Cannonball is more challenging than Boomer. AND, my friend Sarah who has tried both Smoke and Boomer (I'm too much of a baby to try Smoke yet) thinks that Smoke is def. harder than Boomer. Sno needs to recalibrate its difficulty scale. Even if it's "difficulty inflation," I'd rather see those slopes remain the rating they had before--so people don't think they can take their kids on it or wedge their way down. (Note: I am not knocking people who like to challenge themselves and then fall down, because clearly I've fallen plenty, but some of the people I see just don't even have the skills to get themselves down the slope safely without creating a hazard to themselves and others). Also, where do you see the new trail ratings? Their website doesn't reflect any changes...
  14. Ha. Ha. I've got snow in my jacket to prove it, how's that? haha. I wish you could have seen the second headwall of cannonball. It was a total obstacle course between the bumps, ice, and fallen children. Seriously, we saw so many people bringing young children who could not ski on that slope, it was atrocious. I feel so bad for all those little kids falling/tumbling down the headwalls.
  15. I looked for you and Nick all day, and couldn't find either of you!!! Sadness. The bunny hill was insane. I can't believe people were waiting in such a line for the bunny hill--they should have just hiked it--would have been faster than waiting for the lift. In case anyone cares, we only hit the north face, and they def. blew last night. Decent powder on Cannonball and Boomer (though some spots skiied off to ice), second headwall on Cannonball bumped up, which gave tons of people problems, including me:). All in all, a fun day (despite not seeing Ski or Nick!!!), and we ended the day by a little beer in the Sno Grille, which is clearly the most affordable thing on the menu.
  16. Nick, I am also mad that I did not get to ski with you today, but unfortunately, the mechanic people decided they wanted to spend a little extra TLC time with my car today. We'll have to make a lift date. I'll be up tomorrow, sometime around 10am if I can get my ass out of bed. Actually, fyi everyone, Buckmans is demoing tomorrow at Sno for all those interested. Holler at me if you see me!
  17. Awesome. I'll be on the lookout for you as well. There is a chance I might not make it out today though b/c my car is still at the mechanic... hopefully it'll be finished soon though!
  18. Wow, sounds like you guys had an awesome time! I wish I could have stopped by to watch everyone, but I was stuck at work, of course! Ski, do you know whether there is a list of all the fun happenings at Sno this season? Maybe I should call for a schedule? I'd like to calendar them. I don't think I'll ever win anything ON my skis, but I could be a contender for the chugging contest.
  19. Really? I assume this is old school. If so, please be sure to pair it with a nice bright color. Maybe a lime green headband?
  20. I imagine a lot of people are totally jealous of my violet color coordination. I will point out though, that violet is a light purple, so you probably would want something darker. I have K2 coms.
  21. Hey Nick, I'll def. be there on Saturday, maybe like 9-2ish? I wear a violet spyder jacket and black pants. If it's cold I have a matching violet hat, and my goggles are white and purple. I might be out with my friend Sarah (former skiier who now boards), so just holler if you see us (or just me).
  22. Props to Ski for coming back out with me. I was supposed to get there earlier but got held up at a cocktail party that I had to go to for work, so I was late for our lift date. I wasn't tipsy though, I promise--just had a miller light at the cocktail party to fit in with the classy crowd, haha. I had a great time skiing with Ski as usual, AND, he convinced me to try Boomer, and I am really glad that he did because it was lots of fun. Ski told me that when I make it down White Lightning, he'll take shots with me. Actually, I just made that up, but I kind of feel like that would be a good goal for both of us. After we parted ways I met up with a guy I work with (who was also at the cocktail party) and his friends (all boarders) and skiied with them for a while actually. It was my friend's first time on a snowboard, and he did awesomely!
  23. I've actually never had a "grown-up" pillow fight--even though I went to an all-girls college! I swear, every guy I met in college was so fascinated with the fact that I went to an all-girls school. They would ALL ask, "so, do you girls like, walk around in your bras and panties and have, like, pillow fights?" FYI, the answer is no. I have, however, been to a pajama party... For my 25th birthday, my friends threw me a "Pajama Jammy Jam." It was really funny considering about 40 of my friends came and wore their pjs (even the guys dressed up!), AND, the cops came and I had to talk to them in my pajamas, haha. Also, guys, really, I don't think that I look anything like Melissa Midwest.
  24. Gee, I hope you have lots of pillows for pillow fights! lol.
  25. Won't you be taking the shots with me?? Don't you want to help the owners make money? Also, a PASR day at Sno post-New Years is a must. But let's wait til we get the whole mountain open...
