  1. If you are looking for a great ski racing league - check out ASRA (American Ski Racing Alliance) at www.skiracer.com Season openers are at Killington, VT December 11th to 13th. Races are for adults 21 and over. Races and results are done by age group categories. Races are held all over: PA, NY, NJ, VT Great races and great prizes after the races.
  2. Here's a really great deal! For only $15.00 you can get an evening lift ticket and do a NASTAR race every Monday night at Tuxedo Ridge. Every Monday evening Tuxedo Ridge runs a bar league NASTAR race. Sign ups are in the bar from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Race starts at 8pm. Tuxedo Ridge (formerly the Sterling Forest Ski Area) is located on Route 17A in Tuxedo, NY. Bring some friends and come have some fun!
  3. The new South terrain park did nothing to take the snowboarders off the other trails. They are still sitting all over the place. The bubble tents at the Vernon base are disgusting. The bubbles were only supposed to be "temporary". Ten years is NOT temporary in my book. Instead of trying to sell condos and a hotel - how about building a new lodge first? Where is Ski Patrol and why aren't they doing their job to make sure the slopes are safe for everyone?
  4. The races at Elk have been rescheduled to the first weekend of March.
  5. I don't think Mountain Creek will ever be a "destination resort". Even when it was Great Gorge and Vernon Valley it was always a day trip ski area. I think any serious skier/snowboarder that is going to go to a destination resort is going to go further north to a bigger mountain. I would like to see Ski Patrol or a Courtesy Patrol do something about all of the people that sit in the middle of the slopes - both skiers and snowboarders are included in this. If you are tired and want to take a rest - sit down on the side of the slope where you will not be blocking the trails. Or even better go sit down at the base at the picnic tables that are provided.
  6. They were not GE jet engines. The jet engines were made by Curtiss-Wright.
