  1. Labor Day is here, and that means our Tuesday hours change from 1-5 PM to 3-7 PM each week. All the other days/hours stay the same. Fall is just around the corner, so why wait to get ready for winter!
  2. Well, the 2015 at Park 1260 is underway. If you are looking to learn a new trick, or just work out some kinks in the old ones... then you need to get out here this summer. Think about how much progression you can get in between now and the time the resorts open for the winter. Plus, it is just an awesome way to spend a few hours in the mountains on a hot summer day. Skiers and snowboarders are welcome, as are all park abilities. The scene is always chill, and everyone is here to have fun and support one another. Instead of posting a bunch of dates, I will just post the schedule structure: Tuesday = 1-5 PM Saturday = 1-5 PM The first Friday of each month = 5-8 PM The second Saturday of each month = 5-8 PM The third Sunday of each month = 5-8 PM This can be subject to change, so you can always check the current schedule at http://www.park1260.com or on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WordPress.
  3. Don't be a NUBE on opening day... get out to Park 1260 and get your game back and your legs ready! If the temps during a session get down to around 35, the water freezes on the carpet into something like frozen granular. If the temps get below freezing we can fire up our snow gun for some fresh man made snow. Here are some upcoming dates for the pre-snow-season: Sat 10/25 = 1-5 PM Tue 10/28 = 3-7 PM Sat 11/1 = 1-5 PM Tue 11/4 = 3-7 PM Fri 11/7 = 5-8 PM Sat 11/8 = 1-5 PM Tue 11/11 = 3-7 PM Sat 11/15 = 1-5 PM Sat 11/15 = 5-8 PM Tue 11/18 = 3-7 PM Sat 11/23 = 1-5 PM Sun 11/24 = 5-8 PM Tue 11/26 = 3-7 PM END OF 2014 SCHEDULED SEASON MORE DATES WILL BE ADDED DEPENDING ON RESORT OPENING DATES
  4. Well, keep me posted if you find that you are interested at some point. I totally understand the drive! I am not guiding any more, I have been spending the summers at Park 1260 for the most part. But you should definitely give it a try, it is a great way to spend a summer. Hope to see you out here again sometime.
  5. So we did some work at trying to get CBK back up to decent again last season. The comments are that we are heading in the right direction at least. However, we do need some quality park crew members to join the team this season. We really want to keep improving the park on a regular basis, and park crew has a lot to do with that. It does not matter if you ski or board, but you should be able to hit all the features we have setup on a daily basis. You do not have to have previous experience, but it is preferred... landscaping experience is a good one, or if you just have a complete dedication to the park. What I would like to do is to have anyone who is interested contact me here, and then we can setup a pre-season session at Park 1260 to talk about what we want to do this season.

Here is what is happening now: Tuesday and Saturday we are open from 1-5 PM Then there are scheduled events in the evenings from 5-8 PM on various days. Next month we may try to make those evening events a little easier to remember: First Friday, Second Saturday, and Third Sunday
  8. Not sure about sharing images on here. I think this is an old pic from years ago: Ok, so I added a couple newer pics to the gallery to share. The are only like 2 years old instead of 5+

  12. Yeah, of course like 2 hours after I posted that they decided to close early. This weeks weather is a contributing factor, as well as the fact that nobody is coming out... it was dead yesterday and it is dead today. Unfortunately, if you did not come out yesterday, you did not really help the situation ;-) . I am not happy about this either, I spent 18 hours at the end of last week trying to make sure the park was going to last another 2 weekends... but at least we had a long season with some good snow.
  13. What will likely happen on the 12/13 weekend is that the Sullivan lift and that side of the resort will be closed, and the Stevenson and Glen lifts will serve the other side of the resort. They do this so they can work on getting the water park open, and keep trails open at the same time. It takes a lot of work to change over from Winter to Summer. The good news is that I plan on having the park open for the last weekend with 25-30 features. Camelback will be the only mountain in the region open as most places (if not already closed) will close this weekend (4/5-4/6).
  14. Lol, I hear you... about as much desire as I have to go to blue. Thanks though, I am trying to make things better over there as much as I can.
  15. Unfortunately we have not been able to rebuild Turkey Trot yet, but we will as soon as the holidays are done. Here is our current feature list as of 2/16/14: DROMEDARY: roller roller roller roller banked turn 8' flat box 16' step box 5' table jump UPPER MOORE'S: 20' snail box snow spine with hitching post 16' urban down box 16' flat box 20' planet flat box 16' mailbox lip jump 20' flat box 10' table jump LOWER MOORE'S: 20' urban rasta box 10' close-out rail 20' wide-flat-bar flat rail 20' planet up box (to) 20' planet flat box 16' up box 35' hip jump OAK GROVE: 16' urban single barrel rail 24' down flat down wide-flat-bar rail 8' pole jam rail (to) 16' down mailbox 20' flat up flat-bar rail 15' step down jump 25' step down jump 35' step down jump TURKEY TROT: snow spine with large propane tank wall ride 20' down flat double barrel rail 20' 6" bar flat rail 20' mountain dew rail (tripod) 30' urban double barrel flat rail side hip hit 20' c-box 16' flat-bar flat rail corrugated pipe corrugated pipe corrugated pipe HIKE PARK: 16' down mailbox 12' donkey rail SUNBOWL PROGRESSION PARK: 6x1' flat box 6x2' flat box 8x2' flat box 8x2' flat box 8' flat-bar rail 10x2' flat box roller roller
  16. So over the past 2 weeks we got a lot done. We have 6 parks running with a grand total of 44 features. The jump line on Oak Grove consists of a 15', 25', and 35' step-down jump. We also added features to Upper Moore's, Lower Moore's, and Dromedary (including a small 5' table-top jump). Our upcoming plans include a rebuild on Turkey Trot including a side hip jump, a 10' table-top jump on Upper Moore's, and a large hip jump on Lower Moore's. Plus we will be moving things around a little as we complete these builds.
  17. Ok, sorry for the delay in getting back in here to post. Basically we had spent about a month in damage control mode, just trying to keep the features standing. Weather has been better, so we did a couple of builds last week with more to come. On 1/9 we setup features on Upper Moore's. On 1/14 we tore down Oak Grove and built on Lower Moore's. On 1/17 we built on Oak Grove. This Thursday we are building a jump line on skier's left Oak Grove, then the next week will be a rebuild on Turkey Trot. So there is a lot more to come, weather permitting! Park passes are gone for this year, but if enough people complain we may be able to get them back. The fact is that a very small percentage of mountains still use park passes. It basically comes down to upper management not wanting to restrict their paying guests. Personally, I think they make the park a much safer place for everyone but it is not my call. Send an email, or post on one of the Camelback social sites. Park crew has tried many times to educate the guests, but they usually do not listen. The response the justo got was about the same one that we get. In fact we have had guests complain to management about park crew telling them what to do. I can also tell you, as a terrain park coach for 10 years, that the people that are the problem NEVER want to listen to what you have to say... they bought their ticket and they are going to do what they want. They are also the same ones that cut you off in line at the store, and drive like idiots out on the road.
  18. OK, so due to some grooming issues we were not able to build on Upper Moore's last night. However, we did get the chance to throw a small jump in on Oak Grove. More stuff coming on Monday... unless the park melts away over the weekend.
  19. Snow levels look good for a jump build next Monday. The first jump is looking like it will be at the bottom of Oak Grove. This Wednesday we will be doing a build on Upper Moore's, with about 8 features.
  20. We just have not had enough snow to really build a jump. However we plan to add one or two on the 23rd. This week we will be building on Upper Moore's... it is still not know yet how much snow we will have to work with there. Jumps are coming soon though. We are also working with a new groomer, so there is a bit of a learning curve.
  21. Total feature count as of 12/11/13 is 17. With 6 boxes, 1 mailbox, 8 rails, 1 propane tank, and 1 wall ride. We hope to have another 10 up by Christmas if the cold temps continue.
  22. This past week has not helped us one bit... the warm weather and rain really took a toll on the conditions and the park. We had to rebuild last night, even though nobody has even hit the setup from Tueday. But, all is well and it looks like some decent snow making weather coming up this week. We will be building on Turkey Trot this Tuesday with the following features: 12' propane tank, wall ride, 12' urban down rail, Mountain Dew feature, 30' double barrel flat rail, 30' double barrel down-flat rail, 20' c-box. Hopefully we will be doing a build every week until the end of the year, with our sites on Upper Moore's next week.
  23. It is hard to find everyone in one place anymore with all the online social options. Here is what we have setup on Oak Grove: double 8' prog box step-down, 16' flat box, 20' flat-down box, 16' flat-bar flat-rail urban down, 12' donkey rail Here is what I have lined up for out park build tonight on the other side of Oak Grove: 20' flat box, 20' snail box, 16' up mailbox, 12' close-out rail (fat single flat), 8' pole jam rail We are planning another build next week for Turkey Trot... so let me know if there is anything you would like to see setup. We need a little more snow to get a jump in, so lets hope for the return of good snowmaking weather.
  24. We are doing a build on the left side of Oak Grove on Tuesday night. Anyone have any favorite features they would like to see setup for this weekend?
  25. Management/owners really want to make sure there is a terrain park open on day one. So that is one reason that they blow that loop first. It would be nice to have the CBK cam point in that direction to show some white, and I can bring that up at the next meeting.
