  1. A few pics of the park from yesterday (Tues. 12/28).
  2. Checked out the webcam just now and it's looking a lot less crowded than usual for a Sat. night. I realize once the warmer weather hits, the weekend warriors don't think about skiing, but I'm hoping the conditions are still somewhat decent. Anyone who went today please post a conditions update.
  3. Parks were great today. I was there in the morning until noon and speed was an issue for hitting *all* the jumps in cascade jump line. And in the tubing line, I'd straight air off the 1st one to gain speed and I still cased the last big one. Did they make snow last night and that's why the snow was sticky?
  4. Just got back from a morning session. The groomed everything with the exception of sasquatch. Park was nice as far as rails go, but speed was an issue for the jumps. The 2 double sets of jumps at the top of black bear were the only ones you could get enough speed for. None of the jumps in cascade this morning were hittable because of the slow snow and high winds going against you. Here are some pics of the park https://www.dropbox.com/gallery/298636/1/Feb%2011th%20Bear%20Creek%20in%20the%20Morning?h=35b522
  5. This is what that feature looked like when complete w/rail setup The rest of the photos are at http://www.bigboulderpark.com/media/photos
  6. Curious what the previous/standard strategy is and the downsides of it relative to this new one?
  7. Just got back from a morning session. Park was decent for what they have to work with post rain. Jump line was really nice. Not very crowded either. Should be great tomorrow after some fresh manmade snow.
  8. Just got back from a morning session. The park setup was nice. All rail lips were pretty much perfect. The 2 jumps in the jump line were built great, but speed was an issue because of the snow that was made last night (sticky as all hell). With a bit of melting during the day with the sun, then freezing back up at night, the jump line should be great. Keep up the great work park crew!
  9. Not the news we wanted, but thanks for sharing and keeping us updated.
  10. I'd give it a go. I got the discount last year with PASR and I bought it online the 1st week in Dec.
  11. The landings are perfect at Boulder (steep & long, hardly any impact on landing if you hit it right). With the conditions being slow because of the slushy snow, it's pretty much impossible to overshoot them. I was up today and the jumps in Love park were great and the top one on Boulder park was also good. The only problem was that it was foggy as hell. Love park had a 4 jump line today with the last 2 jumps in the line having both a med side and small side hit. The avg size of the jumps in Love are from 10ft up to 20ft maybe (I could be way off here). The 1st jump in Boulder park is 25-30ish and the 2nd jumps (side-by-side) are both monsters like 50ft and 40ft. I'm not much of a rail guy, but they got a decent variety of rails. I get a pass to Bear Creek and their park is really good, but I've been to Boulder the past 2 weekends and it's been a ton of fun. If Boulder was as close to me as Bear, I'd get a pass to Boulder.
  12. So how are the park conditions? What's the setup like jumpwise? I was up last week and Love had a 2 2-jump (small/med) setup and boulder had jump/hip/jump setup. Is that the setup now even after the rebuild? Anyone who was there today let me know. Planning on going up tomorrow even with the rain.
  13. Today was not good for park riding at all. Lots of snow and super windy made it impossible to carry enough speed to hit the jumps/rails. All that snow and still the snow quality was poor. It was groomed ice underneath wind blown snow.
  14. Back from a morning session today and Cascade jump line was perfect again today especially with the soft landings from the warm temps. Last jump in tubing was money. Nice mellow take off. Doing laps on all 6 hits was great.
  15. How's the flow with the 2 rebuilt jumps in Black Bear. Can you carry enough speed to hit all 4 easily with out knuckling any of them? Or do you have to do speed checks/push to link them together nicely/
  16. From the lodge Conditions are great. Park crew is doing a great job maintaining everything. Natural snow is great. Lift lines are pretty deep now. A little tough to keep speed to hit all 4 jumps on black bear. All in all great day.
  17. Does the park crew have a schedule throughout the day for when things are maintained/fixed? Is it different for weekends vs. weekdays? Whens the 1st round of maintenance in the morning? Before the lifts are opened? Or is it done after closing the night before? I understand it could vary everyday based on the weather, rider traffic, park setup, etc., but in general what's schedule. I want to make sure this isn't taken the wrong way. I'm not complaining about park conditions/crew at all - they've done a great job this season. I'm just curious and it'll tell me the best time(s) to ride the park "in general". Thanks
  18. It's gonna be 61 on Sun. Get ready for a spring session in Dec. Jump line should be fun since the landings should be soft - that's assuming you'll be able to carry enough speed.
  19. Props to the park crew for getting a decent amount of features out for opening day.
