went with my dad, we got to elk a little past 8, no wind and not too cold, i think it was like 28? idk.
we got first chair and warmed up on delaware and susquehanna. the snow was nice for PA, hard hard cord. visibility sucked, the top third of the mountain was blanketed by fog which made things sketchy. i was a little hesitant at first but settled in quickly cause the conditions were very predictable, no cookies or ice chunks or unevenness anywhere.
then we blasted over to the other side and lapped the same 3 or 4 trails for most the morning before returning to susquehanna and slalom and getting in some hot laps before our morning passes expired.
not once did we wait in a lift line. the fog was a bit of a buzz kill, but there was no one there, snow was great, and it was an awesome first day back!
