Pizza Wedge

Pizza Wedge (2/10)

  1. Obviously it doesn't make them, but you're channeling people right into it. You have to assume some of them are going to end up doing something out of their league when it's there. Just put a little fence right to the right of the landing or something, pushing them just past it so they're not cutting in. Even with that fence, there were still kids/gapers/whatever just rolling over the jumps, playing around on the landings and everything else that has become so normal there.
  2. Well that makes a ton of sense to funnel all the gapers into the biggest jump they have. Worked out great for that girl yesterday who looked like she broke both her legs. There are trail merges everywhere. If it's that big of a problem, make it like a 3/4 length fence so people will at least have to slow down, and put up a couple merge signs or something. If anyone working at Bear is reading this, that fence is infuriating. It does not make sense to restrict peoples options there.
  3. Can someone please tell me what the FUCK the deal is with that fence? Bear blew my mind this weekend (in a bad way).
  4. Nice, thanks man! Anybody have any word on black bear? Hopefully this rain doesn't screw things up too bad for tomorrow.
  5. Damn, really? That sucks. Could somebody post a park update when the build is done?
  6. Really hope they don't have to close, it was great this past weekend. I agree on that flat bar, as well as the candy cane. That's exactly how they should be set up! Well done.
  7. Yep, you can tell that one for sure. I don't know why skiiers like rails like that. And that's the line I was taking as well, but it's super annoying to have to cut all the way across to get to each rail, in terms of speed and criss-crossing people coming off that huge box. Just because it's possible to make it to each feature doesn't mean it has flow.
  8. Regardless of whether or not they're the ones I want to hit, you put similar features in a line. The odds are pretty good someone who is hitting the boxes would want to hit the boxes in a line, likewise with the rails. Again, this is how every other park works, it's not some radical idea. Just switch the up box and down bar and it's fine. And Kyle, I snowboard.
  9. Bear was pretty fun yesterday, but I have two major gripes: After that whole conversation on here, why why why is the candy cane rail set up like that?! I just don't understand why it's straight on. Nowhere else sets rails up like that, and that rail is usually set up right. You shouldn't have to "imagine" it being set up correctly. Just boggles my mind. Also, can there be some semblance of park flow? No reason the flat rail, down bar, and candy cane rail should all not be in a line. Having to zig zag around to hit them is real dumb.
  10. How about another rail or two for the weekend...?
  11. I'm sure kids love the ride-on lips. There will be kids who hit every single thing regardless of how it's set up. My and others gripe is that it sucks when everything is played down to the lowest common denominator. If there's only going to be ~5 features, most of which are boxes, at least set up the 1 or 2 rails correctly so we can enjoy them.
  12. I'm pretty sure the original Boulder post was comparing respective opening weekends, not where you are today vs Boulder. And I think the lip criticism is valid, I always end up bringing it up here and it always causes a fuss for some reason. How can anyone think that's an appropriate size lip for that rail? I am aware it's a small rail, but you don't need a 2foot high lip with the beginning of the rail level with the lip. Yeah, there's a lot of "non pro level riders" or whatever you want to say, and that's why there's all the flat boxes. If you're only going to have one down rail in, make it normal at least. Sure it's a bigger rail, but the lip is proportional to it. It's set up like a handrail, the way everyone wants it to be. Imagine the lip to that thing starting at the top flat part. I'm not trying to insult you guys, but this point seriously gets brought up every year on here. And it generally gets sorted out over the course of the season, I always have a good time at Bear. But come on, no more ride on rails please.
  13. Have to agree about the setup and Boulder comparison. There's gotta be more rails in for the weekend. Also, I'm real curious what Art of Flight has to do with Bear Creek?
  14. Awesome, they definitely needed a new DFD. Hopefully a bigger version of that flat bar one?
