  1. Yeah, I like my bindings to be really tight so I get quicker response. I feel more secure on my board when they're like that. I know that's the reason my feet go numb. Occurs less with the capstrap on my Burtons.. I'm wondering if it wouldn't happen at all with Flows. Nah, my friends have had other bindings before they got Flows. 1 is on his 2nd pair now. Whenever I see somebody on any mtn with Flows I always ask em how they like em n nobody has ever said they didn't. Boots.. yeah, I hafta try em on to really feel. I just need a really narrow boot with a tight heel area - my friend just got the F22s n said they were amazing. I'm just afraid they'd be too stiff for what I like. I gotta feel the diff between the 20s n 22s.
  2. Okay, I read the thread right below about Technine offering great customer service. Super. I also read the thread where everybody was bashing Flows. I have a few friends who ride Flows and absolutely love em. They ride a ton of park too. My 1 friend let me try his for a run, but they were too big for my feet, so the only thing I noticed was how freaking heavy they are on both the lift n just carving. He agrees they're heavy, but he said he doesn't notice the weight when he's riding. Perhaps my problem was cuz they were too big n not adjusted properly. *shrug* He had the Amp 5. The Flows I'm considering are the Pro FS - http://www.dogfunk.com/dogfunk/FLO0026/c7/...ing-Womens.html I'm hoping for the extra $ they're lighter? I dunno. Description says they're a freestyle binding vs an all mountain, so I'd assume they'd be lighter? I do a lot of park, so I'm apprehensive for the additional weight. However, I like the Flows for the ease of slipping in n out [i'm a snowboard instructor, so it's not just about strapping in after the lift or hiking in the park], n also cuz of the apparent even pressure that they spread across my entire foot. Even with my Burton's n the cap strap, my feet still go numb. My Ride bindings are comfy too, but I constantly have to loosen em. It's annoying n uncomfortable. Esp midrun when we're doing clinics n such n we're on 1 trail for nearly an hour. The Technine's I'm looking at are the JV womens - http://www.dogfunk.com/dogfunk/TCN0011/c7/...ing-Womens.html is the 'Baltimore toe strap' like the Burton cap strap? All I ever hear are that T9 makes kickass bindings. Furthermore, I have Burton boots which are wide as fock, n have packed in since last season like no other. I'm looking into either Thirty-Two [which I hear fall apart after a season], or Salomon's F20/22s. I know from experience that boots/bindings don't always fit, which is crap. Anybody got anything to say on those boots? /\ I feel like Doug, with such a long post... I dunno, I typed a lot, not sure exactly what I'm looking to hear.
  3. Challenge chair is an 11 1/2 minute ride. *shoots self in head* Hike the park, kids, hike the park.. ;]
  4. Yup. Uhmm.. I forget what exactly happened. It was a few weeks ago.. I know it was more than him just tripping n falling on it tho. I think he was cut off.
  5. 1 thing that really irks me - if u get down to the park n ur friend is dropping in from way higher up to gain speed [re: boardercross at Blue to hit the left side], n u tell everybody to move outta the way/don't go - n then they give u the 'who the fock are u?' look - then ur friend drops in screaming GET OUTTA THE WAY!!! ugh hate that. hahahaha yesss!
  6. Yeah, the booter is insane, I can't wait to hit it. They put a roller in right before it last nite so hopefully u can pick up even more speed. They measured it today - I think it's roughly 30ish ft. They want it to be 60. Ha. n thx for the props on my car. u should see it in the summer when it's all clean n rollin on 19s. ;x It's being fixed. There was a giant chunk taken out from the end on the right side. Stoopid people. okay, ur right, I don't know who u are or who u know, but when ur talkin trash on my friends, I'm gonna defend them since noone else can. n u say those on Park Crue ride all day while getting paid? Wrong. Get ur facts straight, esp since u seem to know Danny, u should also know that they're only getting paid for the hours when they're actually working. So if our friend, Jonny, is at Blue from 8-4, but only puts in 2 hrs of work - he's only getting paid for 2 hrs, not 8. Yes, Danny usually is the guy out there in the wee hours of the nite, but others show up too. I can think of 3 off the top of my head. Keith is out there enough as well. 'band together so the park doesn't get lost in the dust..' are u crazy? They're constantly coming up with new ideas, thinking of ways to improve it.. If u went today u'd have seen that they stuck a roller in after the c-box before the big booter so u can get even more speed. Write emails n fight it? Fight WHAT? The park has improved SO MUCH this season, it's up there with BC's - n they're not in competition. But u know what they say, can't please everyone. Rather than saying, 'oh wow the park is soo much better this yr, check out _____ n ______ ' it's 'we need to fight!! n write emails!! n leave rakes out!' yeah, right - somebody already said it - do u know how much of a danger/liability it would be to leave rakes out?? 1 of our own cut his face open n needed stitches from the rake. All u need is some kid to forget to put the rake back to wherever it came from.. think of that. When little children are riding thru the park, n ppl who just mosey on thru n avoid all the jumps/rails.. it'll never happen. Ever. Bad bad bad idea. *sigh* I'm not fighting or arguing with u, just stating what I know, n just that I thought some of what u had said was completely uncalled for. Don't tell me *I* was the 1 who was being rude. My comments were far from ignorant. Thanks.
  7. Did u ever stop to think that maybe it's been to tough to maintain the park since it's been so soft these past few weeks? Rake the lip, smooth it out, fill in the craters - 15 mins later it's all effed up again. Especially when u have riders/skiiers who don't hit the stuff properly, ride over things, land on the flat, etc. 'Idiots' in charge??? Once a week?? WTF are u talking about? The guys in charge of the park know what they're doing, but they get sh!t from the ppl who run the mtn. Park Crue is out in the morning, afternoon, n nite - n then THRU the fockin nite til 5 or 6am. STFU n keep ur ignorant comments to urself when they're completely unjustified n just downright rude n offensive.
  8. Oh, it can be cleared, but u really gotta try hard. No half-ass approach, heh. I didn't see anybody try it today [Wed], but yesterday we went to scope it out, n a boarder did clear it. A ton of speed is def necessary - like, u gotta start way up high, don't carve, n pump as ur approaching. The dood fockin flew. It REALLY pops u up. 1 of the park guys I work with tried after, n he knuckled n ate it. =/ Just keep ur eyes open for even more changes to the park. There's talk of closing it for a day to completely revamp [but leaving the boarder cross n the lower park open, + the pipe].
  9. The quad was insane even around 4ish today.. I left around 4:30. Days like today are 50/50 in the park: nice cuz when u fall it doesn't hurt, but sucks cuz it's really hard to get enough speed to clear the landings. u guys gotta come visit me! I work Mon, Tues, Wed, n Thurs from 9am - 3pm at the snowboard school down at Valley East. My uniform is just like everybody else's: black pants, blue jacket. I got new goggles tho: black/hot pink Spys, n my board is black...
  10. I just got off the phone with my friend who's sitting with Danny in a groomer - they're workin on the wall right now, n the landings for all jumps are reeeeally nice. /hearsay
  11. Yeah, that was really annoying this am becuz I needed their phone # n couldn't get it! Ughh.
  12. I heard about the stairs!!! That's gonna be sweet!! +1 for Blue vs BC.
  13. Only reason I would say Sheetz is better than Wawa is cuz Sheetz had the MTO computers before Wawa. Wawa has the best coffee. Sheetz has Jones Soda. I dunno bout this. I always stop at Sheetz on my way up for a Red Bull tho, n depending on the time of day, sometimes I'll get something I can chew too.
  14. ^ bahaha.. no, never, right? =/ Doug, we should def meet up some time when we're both up there. I'm heading up tonite around 7... I wanna get close to first tracks tomorrow.. I have a few teaching sessoins I need to complete over the next few days, but I plan on being on the mtn for most of Wed n Thurs.. maaayybeee Friday morning too.
  15. hehe I'm actually certified to teach now. Also, today [err yesterday? sunday], a skiier fell off the quad. It had gone maybe 50 ft, we're the next chair to load, n I glance over cuz it stopped, n there was a skiier, putting his feet back into this skies. WTF. So we secretly laughed to ourselves to save him more embarassment than he was probably already feeling - cuz what kinda grown man falls off a chair lift?? - but then, when there was 3 of us - all boarders - ready to load, he comes in line with us, n cuts between us! So u feel like a dipsh!t cuz u fell off the lift, but don't then cut between friends. He didn't say a word. Not even an, 'I'm sorry, please excuse me..' Ugh, we were annoyed. What ever happened to lift line ettiquite? Snowboarders > Skiiers x infinity
  16. ^ Yes, sorry.. didn't mean to show ya up. I mean, u kept taking the 'easy' way down n everything. Get my # from Eric if u like.. I'll be up there all weekend. I'll ride switch all day if u decide to rent a board. I'll bring u over to the dark side!
  17. Thanks, guys. Doug, yeah I called Wed before work becuz I needta arrange a schedule with my current job.. I spoke to both Tim n Keith, n I'm still as confused as ever. Saturday is gonna be a bit of a surprise. I didn't get my board edged either!! ugh. Working 12 1/2 hr days doesn't allow it! Maybe I can swing by before I head up tomorrow... As for what dept? I have no clue. I don't think I wanna do the explorers program. I just wanna do something using my board. I guess that's more info I'll be finding out on Saturday. As for the pay, I asked Keith about that - he said it begins with minimum wage [wow, it's been a loooong while since I was paid that], n then increases depending on experience, yrs working there, certifications, etc. Also, apparently there are tips, which he said can be pretty decent. I'm excited. Still no place to crash [cept this weekend]. Can't wait to ride s'more tho. Say hi to me if u see me --> pajama snow pants n camo goggles!
  18. Anybody else going to be there? Anybody a current employee? Does anybody know if we get to ride for free this weekend post-meetings? Thanks.
  19. ^ and that's why riders are cooler than skiiers.
  20. ^ Hey Matt. What's shakin? Jim told me u were trash talkin chick riders. wtf? Thanks for the offer, I'll let u know.. I'm checkin into all available options. I was really hoping Lazy Mile woulda been open, but no, it wasn't. I won't be able to get back up there til Friday nite after work, but I won't be on the mtn [altho, come to think of it, I should haha]. Saturday at 8am begins the ITC training, so I'll be up there thru Sunday whenever I leave. Did anybody grind that branch that was off to the left on Vista? I tried it, n then when I went to hit it again, there was a crowd of ppl with the same idea, n I needed to leave.
  21. Ugh, it was awful. I desperately need to tune my edges. Oh, n we didn't get on the mtn til about noon - ran a bit late..
  22. Funny u say that, cuz I don't mind at all - as the 1 link in my sig may imply. Anyways, I'm def going to Blue tomorrow/today. Leaving at 630ish am, planning to arrive around 8-830. Leaving by 2 [i have work at 5]. Look for me! I have camo goggles n pajama snow pants!
  23. Whoa, I thought this was the 'what car do u drive' thread for a second, lol. Thread officially hijacked! Peter - why'd u have a yellow top btw? Did u have THAT many accessories, etc that u needed a deep cycle? Polo green n yellow are a common combination on gagt. I think Luniz did that too? Anyways, Dec 10-11th is the ITC training session - who am I staying with? Also, anybody actually going to BE there? I'm thinkin about goin to Blue Sunday am.. leave by 2ish. I hafta be at work at 5. Thanks for all the replies, fellas. I appreciate it.
  24. ^ yeah yeah.. isn't that how it is on so many forums tho? 95 miles.. Doug - I didn't make that site! I just modified it! It's www.myspace.com all the cool kids are doin it. lol. I think I go to Rita's every day in the summer. I could easily live off that stuff. n THANK YOU for calling it 'Italian ice' I HATE how ppl round these parts refer to it as 'water ice.' oh, n that 2nd table in the park - that's the only 1 I actually ride AROUND. Tried it once, never again.. haha.
  25. Thanks for the welcome, guys. =] Papa - who's the 'we'? u n Jibo? I've actually never been to CB.. always had a pass to Blue n a triple play card to Creek, so never wanted to waste $ that could go towards NY/VT/points north. Doug - I'm not a skier. hehe, but my fave trails are Switchback, Sidewinder, n both the double blacks [Razor's n Challenge]. Lazy Mile can be fun cuz there's always stuff to do on the sides. A couch is perfect - how far do u live? I can do dishes n supply beer. Peter - I used to be a member of UD's snowboard club, but I've already graduated - besides, I'm looking to actually work there. I've done the drive numerous times over the years, but I'm hoping to work there, so I'd like to work consecutive days n avoid driving back n forth every day. If u had a modded GA, are u familiar with gagt.com? I'm an active member over there. Love the STi's... have fun with that lil monster! AWD rally car, hell yeah! Jibo - 30 mins in whatever direction is still closer than the 110 miles that I'd need to drive from DE! Talk to ur roommate n lemme know! I already know for sure I need to find a place for the weekend of the 10th cuz that's when the ITC training session is... my friend lives pretty close, but he also lives with his parents, so it's really not gonna fly.. I may hafta quit my current job to work at Blue due to lack of availability =/ so cash is gonna be tight. I'm fun[ny] n can def bring beer tho! I s'pose I'll be finding out more info next weekend once I meet some ppl there. Greatest thread? Riiiiight. lol
