Making Turns (3/10)

  1. werd. yeah, for some reason blue's site won't load on my computer. I can only get it open on my parent's using aol. It's weird. I like the pic they got of me. Totally adding that to myspace.
  2. anybody have pics? Jeff? Stevo- where are yours posted? What a fun day. Ski patrol threatened to call the state police and have us handcuffed and arrested for trespassing.... all we were trying to do was get back down to the bottom. Totally memorable last run.
  3. whoa, dood, me too! I made that small battleship my bitch though. Take that! silly battleship.
  4. Good job, Blue! I was riding from roughly 10-4. I had a great time. The cookies are fun to ollie on. but good god are those double chairs slow.
  5. Let's see. All prices do NOT include shipping. Buyer pays shipping. Or u can come pick stuff up. I live in central NJ. Or I can meet ya somewhere next time I'm in the Whitehall/Allentown area. 1. Ride Vista 146 - $200 2. Tech9 womens JV bindings [only used for 1 1/2 months] - $100 3. Ride VxN bindings - $50 4. Burton Synchro bindings - $40 5. BRAND NEW [no box] Oakley A-Frames [gloss black with blue irridium lens] - $85 6. Spy Commet blue camo goggles - $45 7. red Volcom snowpants, size small, only worn twice - $150 [they retail for $280] 8. Betty Rides snowboard jacket, size medium, only worn 4x - $150 9. Oakley full zip down black pants, size small, worn maybe 3x? - $100 I'm sure I have other stuff too... pictures available upon request. Serious buyers only, please. Thanks, -mel.
  6. I had a blast. The only regret I have is not trying the jump - even when my friend offered to pull me the whole way down on his skiis.. Constructive crit: 1 - more organization at the top [altho it was a free event, so who cares..] 2 - longer pond 3 - straight line to the pond please - that turn kills way too much speed! 4 - smoother transition into/outta the pond All in all, for a 1st time event, I think Blue did a GREAT job!! I thought the MC was a riot, personally.
  7. If u click the link at the top above the picture to see the full size version - that's me in the bottom left corner on the school hill!! =] I like Razor's better than Challenge.
  8. hahahaha, don't get ur hopes up, fellas.. I doubt this will happen. Where did u hear such a rumor?? LOL!
  9. I didn't race cuz I thought I'd hafta leave early, but I was up there watching everybody n cheering my friends on. Watched a lot of ppl die - looked like it woulda been a fun course had the wind not been so strong n the snow so firm.. I think that 3rd roller made everyone its bitch, lol.
  10. I'll be there both days.
  11. I read an article in 'Pro Rider' to practice boardslides on rails.. kinda hard to explain with just words.. but if u find an area of flat snow, take ur board off n put it in front of u, then, u wanna jump onto it, with 1 foot next to each binding, n basically 'pretend' ur boardsliding. If u fall foward that's like catching ur toe edge, n if u fall backwards it's like catching ur heel edge. If u can jump on it n actually slide, u get used to how ur body should be positioned, n then u can take it to a small rail. At the same time, once u've mastered jumping onto ur board on flat snow, u can actually stop in front of the box/rail, turn urself sideways, n jump on it like a regular bs. Supposedly this method works well. I've tried jumping onto my board on flat snow, not as easy as u'd expect.
  12. I should be there.. lookin foward to the comps all weekend!
  13. ^ Some ppl are hitting it okay tho.. I've seen a few boarders n a skier make it to the end n off.. others only making it to the top n falling off. It's neat. I'd imagine it'd be a lot easier to hit with lotsa speed..
  14. Guys, it's worth it just to SEE the new roller coaster rail. This thing is NUTS. I even put my helmet on cuz I was thinkin of giving it a try, but then I saw it. I didn't WANT to make it to the end.
  15. Do u get on 22 at that Phillipsburg exit off 78? If so, don't do that! Stay on 78 longer [approx 8 miles] til u can get on 33. Okay, here's my .02 as for ways to get to Blue, cuz I think I've tried em all. Coming from the NJ area, I still think getting off at the LV exit n then taking 22 to 145 is fastest. Taking the next exit off the TPk is another 19 miles! Then ur on 248 for another 10 or so. If u take 22 to 248 ur on there for like 25ish miles - too many miles to stay on that road. I'd shoot myself. My friend insisted on us taking 33 to 512 to 946 1 nite coming back from VT - not TOO terrible since it was like 1am. It's easy to fly on 512, but it's also easy to get stuck behind somebody who drives obnoxiously slow. Same goes for 946. Watch out for school buses. Ugh. I've also done 512 to Lower Smith Gap or whatever the fock that 12 1/2 mile windy road behind Blue is.. that's a funnnn road to drive. 1st 1 lane bridge is 6 miles in, the 2nd is 1 mile after. Def NOT a fun road at nite or in the ice.
