  1. I find it funny how most of you guys rail on CB consistently, and then they offer one cool after season rail jam and suddendly theyre the bomb... hah
  2. From the pictures, to me it doesn't look like the pipe is any bigger than the other one... really how big is it?
  3. Well its about time camelback got some nice words! For being the best overall resort in our area, you guys don't cut them much slack. They might not have the best parks or best personel, but overall they have the best customer experience, terrain, trail layout, lift layout, and grooming. You might not agree with me on the finer points, but camelback is a great mountain.
  4. true method, but theres no other feeling like riding a 17-19 foot walled pipe.. I'd much rather ride a superpipe anyday (:
  5. Well right now they look to be about 10 feet, but keep in mind this isnt a final grooming, they are just shaping the pipe and then making more snow. However you're right, there needs to be more height. With any luck it will be pushed past 13 feet, now that would be nice!
  6. Camelback has a new photo up of the Zaugg doing some preliminary shaping before more snowmaking.. looks like the pipe is taking shape. It looks great so far, and judging by the one photo it looks like there will be plenty of tranny room, which was a problem on the old pipe. Anyways, I wish I was home to check it out!
  7. I'm going up tonight, maybe I'll see some of you there.
  8. Sounds like a decent setup, I'll be up there monday morning.
  9. You guys are acting silly. Whats wrong with hoping for a little cold weather and snow? If the forcast says so, theres a good chance it might happen. No one expects forcasts two weeks in advance to be accurate, its just an estimation. Just be glad they arent forcasting 70 degree temperatures instead and hope for the best.
  10. If the temperature really do drop sharply after saturday, I don't see why everyone wouldn't be opening on the 8-10th. A whole week to make snow with lows in their teens and highs during midweek reaching the mid 30s, its not a stretch at all.
  11. Given the new 15 day forcast from accuweather I'm going to say the 8th for CB
  12. Wow, Cataloochee and Sugar are already open, with Beech opening soon. I'm suprised, but I guess i shouldn't be, with the elevation those resorts have and the natural snow you're getting right about now. Well enjoy it, we should be soon too.
  13. I get a white screen on my pc, but it works just fine on my mac. I figured you guys would have the same problem so i took a screenshot for proof. Whether or not they are making snow anywhere else on the mountain, theyre making it, and they have our attention. Getting a head start on the base or just pure marketing, I love to see it either way.
  14. http://www.jfbb.com/webcams.asp First Pocono mountain to lay down some snow? Who else is going to join?
  15. Accuweather's predictions are a bit more optimistic.. they always have the best forcasts for winter weather
  16. They are. Mount Snow, Windham, Okemo, Killy, all have snow down already. Sugarloaf opened Monday, with everyone worth mentioning in New England going to be open by this coming weekend, many on friday the 24th. The lows look great now, with a small warmup at the end of the week, but I would assume PA resorts would start making snow tonight.
  17. I wouldn't count that pipe out yet. It has never been called a superpipe by camelback, but it will definately be bigger than the laurel pipe. Just wait until they get snow on it.
  18. I liked that. Looks like shawnee had a real nice setup this year.
  19. hmm.. ski999.. i see you havent gone anywhere
  20. Yeah dave and another friend of ours came out for the first couple days of spring break just to hang out for a few days.. The 4th picture is from Mammoth.. and thats probably one of the steepest lines ive ever skiied yet.. that part was nuts. The guy, i forgot his name, but him and a few of his friends were all mogul skiers.. I think he actually does live in Colorado.. why does he look familiar sibhusky? And lol yeah he lived.. 2 of the guys in our group straighlined the whole thing I guess thats why they were pros.. pretty nuts.
  21. First thanks to Jeff for telling me about this place, and second im impressed on a job well done, so props. Maybe some of you know, but in any case, im in california and i just wanted to share some pictures from my times at kirkwood, squaw, mammoth, and Northstar this year. I am in the first two pictures, and Anthony Boronowski is in the picture before last.
