With the 26 degrees at dawn we got some really good surface back after grooming.

It was a bit soft by 2PM ...like your boot would sink in 5 inches when you walk...but forget walking...go ski.

Its wet and not sticky.... and no rain all day here.

There's about 5 inches of snowcone snow everywhere.

It kicks up a hell of rooster tail when turning hard.

Sounds nice..would you describe the snow to be like applesauce???

Yes... but much firmer.... like snowcones.

Its funny we are working up ways to describe the surface now..at the end of the season.

Has anyone made list of the snow / food descriptions?

When its really cold we have solid ice groomed to be corduroy...

but

sometimes the groomers grind up the snow and create a chalky very fine powder.

Depth of that powder varies...sometimes an inch or two.

A little warmer...

and we get snowcone granular on hardpack.

sometimes an inch...sometimes 5 inches.

Warmer... like this week.... and we get slush..BUT

its not like city slush...messy wet crap...

is almost dry..... doesn't melt away...doesn't wet you when you sit in it to strap in....

and we start naming it stuff like mashed potatoes.... creamed corn...apple sauce.

Either way you spoon it out....

it has been VERY rideable and a joy all week.

I didn't get rained on yesterday or today and both days the surface was great to play on.
