Good Form (4/10)

  1. Haven't had a chance to follow everything lately but is Boulder doing a movie premiere again this year? I haven't seen anything about it yet, but I always look forward to the free swag and a good movie.
  2. So what's the technical name for that big green thing in the warehouse?? I was up thursday and they guys were still weldin it up, looks good painted. Should be fun/different. Guess I should get my pass soon. . .
  3. Yeah probably close to it. Not a chance now though, with Sunday River opening a matter of minutes ago. . .bummer.
  4. Haha although that would be sick, I don't see it possible let alone happening. I said test the guns doug, not full out open a slope lol.
  5. Accuweather is saying a low in the mid 20's for tonight at Lake Harmony. This means for like...a couple hours..Boulder would have a chance to test out a few guns. I never remember them testing in the past, they usually just go for it when they start the season but anyone think it's a possibility? Probably not, oh well just informing you guys of the cold temps up there currently and into the weekend. They're saying 1.2" of snow too, but I'm not counting on anything. Noaa isn't quite as optimistic, although they are calling for some snow too.
  6. Do they check the expiration date on soup cans....?
  7. Well since the word STOKE(D) has been wayyyyy overused in the past month or so, i'll join in so i'm not left out. Pretty stoked that Boulder is opening. Too bad all my buddies will be at the park crue meeting at Blue...
  8. Most definitely a fun place to go once a year. Change up your normal and try out Shawnee, you'll have a blast. Up on the back (no idea trail names) there's never anyone and you can shred through the woods. I ended up on the gravel road that goes under the bridge the one year and had to walk back up to the trail. If you use your imagination you can find cool lines and everything...i won't be hatin on Shawnee at all, even if their jumps blow.
  9. Like I said in the other thread, the dude that was doing interviews with the news crew told me 10am Saturday morning. He was pretty serious about it, but i'm sure Boulder could easily change that to Friday if they wished. They could open today if they wanted to...
  10. He's a pro...he does it every single day, i'm sure he got it under control. And if not...well then that's a bonus adrenaline rush.
  11. Sweet! thanks papasteeze. The guy at Boulder said they were focusing mainly on the night time snowmaking. I wish I would have asked his name, it slipped my mind. I completely agree though, why run in super marginal conditions during the day and use a ton of power for barely anything, when they can just fire up at night and run the guns strong using nearly the same amount of energy. For those SMI polecats, I believe they have 3 rings (nozzle banks), and it's no more than the turn of a valve in order to increase output by a huge step. That might just mean more pumps running in the pump house, because whether or not they're using all the rings at night or just one during the day, the on-board compressor still needs to be running. I'd love to see the coverage up there now, i believe it got down in the mid to upper teens last night, so they should have been running full bore. *edit: Some fangun stats.
  12. That'll come out to one redbull at the boulder park lodge for use of the pics elsewhere....
  13. Glad you like the pics. I go to Northampton Area Community College...pretty lame but i'm going for Communication Design aka. computer graphics and I don't mind. I like my new truck and I figured I'd get some use out of the low gas prices, so yeah I do take some un-needed trips for little or no reason, but oh whatever it was a fun night and I continued my tradition.
  14. Damn guys, I take a 100 mile round trip to get some pics, and when I return you already have some. Talked to a guy up there they were having an interview with, and he said Saturday 10am is opening day/time. 19 Guns going strong on Freedom, and I was very surprised to see them blowing across the entire mountain. Even on that bunnys elbow or schuss or whatever it's called, they had guns going. Oh well, here's what I got: Temperature was 24 degrees while we were there from 8:15-8:45, and a perfectly clear sky so I'm sure it was dropping quick. I had my hand held weather station with me and it said humidity was like 63%. Took a ride over to CamelBack, and the temps was 28 at the top, and that's the only place they had the guns going. Not very many either from the way it looked, but who knows they have so many no trespassing signs it's crazy, so I didn't risk hiking. The guy at Boulder was very cool, he was explaining how they'll go at any chance they get, and that's what the industry is all about, taking risks. When I asked he said feel free to walk around and get some pics.
  15. Currently waiting for my friends, and then we're off. Prepared with 5 cameras and 4 people, i'm sure some decent pics will get posted. I'm pretty stoked, i've done this for a few years now and it's never any less exciting than the year before. Boring classes tomorrow, so I should get this pics up tonight. Check back around 11 or so.
