You know the feeling is mutual. And if I came off defensive in my replies above I apologize. This crew, who I consider friends, obviously enjoy being around and have a ton of respect for, is one major reason (if not the biggest) that one doesn't just walk away from blue; and when things are good at blue they're really good. So Blue will never not be part of the equation..at least if and until I am physically no longer here.

But the consumer side of the brain says...do you continue to fork over the pass $$, no matter the cost, given the number of gripes I / we've had (that have seemingly been higher this year). whether it be lifts, bad grooming, snow, sugar, questionable decisions, poor lighting, school groups, litter, crowds, lack of line management etc? But on the flip side, CB is never going to be an option, I like montage and JF but they aren't either at this point. so my brain goes back to...is there a way to get the good that comes with Blue without having to reward them for poor decisions by purchasing a pass yet again in Feb or March. It's quite the conundrum to be honest. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.

Overthinking bro.  Ultimately it comes down to what is the most convenient for you to get the best turns in that you can each year.  No sense in cutting nose to spite face over gripes with the place if indeed Blue is your best option still.  Just dont spend a penny at the property on anything but the pass, use the shit out of it and in the end, you got the best of Blue for your $$$.

You’re a chill dude…some people would want to fight in that situation even if it’s their fault.  One time like a day or two before a ski trip I was skiing down shuttle back when it was empty at blue and you could fly down it, and some guy who was prob tucking since midway clipped my ski tails and cause me to spin out but not fall and he fell..he was all pissed…and I said you hit me…and he kept going and I repeated you hit me…

ski and ride with your head on a swivel

People be crazy.  I try to diffuse those situations immediately.  Not for fear of a fight fear of goinf to jail if someone forces me to fight em.

Remember to use sunscreen for afternoon sessions..and practice smart style.

Speaking of smart style I had my first head on collision today in front of the quad gates.  I was coming from the progression park going way wide to keep a little speed over to go to the 6 pack and a skier in the other djrection deer in headlighted at the same time with me and whammo.  Really hard hit but no harm no foul, we shook hands and said we both fed up.  First time for everything.

Yeah I’m prob gonna have to bite the bullet and buy ikon and would be rad if there’s some sort of discount or perk for blue passholders.  For awhile they were giving Jackson hole season passholders base passes but that’s one of the flagship Ikonics. Plus if I’m on ikon I can ski with you and salty at camelback.

This is getting good.  We can have PASR Sugarbush Aprils all the way through after our local options close!!!

what do you think is going to change, besides the price going up?  ikon will be 5 or 7 days.  only ikon places that are unlimited are Alterra owned resorts (aka KSL capital).  Blue is owned by KSL Resorts.  All KSL resort properties are just partner resorts with 5 or 7 days.

as for the ski carry ... you should thank me for trying to help you.  very ungrateful.

There is discussion of a possible discount on the Ikon Base pass for all access Blue and Canelback pass holders.  We'll find out officially when Ikon drops the 24/25 news.  I am grabbing one.

  6. Just got home from a most excellent afternoon sesh at Blue The True.  Was busy around noon but lines dissipated as the morning tickets left.  Snow was most excellent considering the crowds.  I think the only ice sketch spot I found was the landing of the 2nd rail on Come Around.  Be back tomorrow for more of the same!

  7. Came back for some more First Tracks this holiday weekend.  Managed 10 runs before the lift lines grew longer than 60 seconds when the public peasant tickets started scanning.  ROTD was Marjis and Cliffhanger with some lovely groomed packed powder cord.  All in all JADIP.  First tracks is the deal on the weekends.

At like 745am, a ski patroller going up for another dawn patroller run asked if anybody wanted to be a ski patroller and it was an echo of No’s so I made sure I said Hell No extra extra loud lol and Dick Nosely was laughing..not as hard as Enjorales was laughing later on in the lot.

The ski school “tram” golf cart shuttle thing loved going down our row..so many happy noobs getting to see the gritty underbelly of a major PA ski area..

Also tomorrow there’s gonna be a special guest at Blue according to Tactical Tim…he wouldn’t tell me, I’m guessing it’s not Saltys sister 😞

Correct. On holiday weekends starting at 7:30 is such a massive bonus, and especially on a day like today. I wish Blue would implement the same thing as Camelback.

For reals, 2 weekends more than pays for the addition.  Any weekend mornings that look to be great I will take advantage from now on.  Nothing beats an hour of ride on to the lift peace even on a Presidents weekend powder Saturday morning!

I love how CB staggers their lift openings like today, so I hit untracked off BB6 at 730 and then more untracked off Stevie at 800. Cliffhanger was Da Bomb as the people around me tore up the perder creating a snow cloud as I sliced thru untracked paradise. 10/10 experience, best runs of the season in PA for me

2nd best to Tuesday @ Blue for me.  First Tracks really is worth the price of addition.  This season is getting GOOOD.

  11. Just got home from an amazing First tracks morning at The Camel on my new pow board.  First tracks was the play I cut fresh lines on the East Side until 8 and caught one of the first Stevie chairs to cut fresh lines until 9:30 and bounced.  Never waited in line until the final run at 9:30 when the masses were piling in.  All in all JADIP.  Have fun @saltyant, nice seeing ya this morn!

My friend thinks the snow tomorrow will keep the crowds low in the morning. I told him to rethink that.

It's gonna be a, get your runs in from 8:00 to 8:30 and then bail, kinda day.

See you in line at the Big Bear 6 @ 7:15 if there is more than 2" in my driveway in the morning.  First run on Mariji's!

I was originally going to Camelback but couldn't find the stupid parking pass, so at the intersection of the roads going to Blue or Camelback I made a right turn toward Little Gap. It was a radical morning skiing western groomers. I'll save Camelback for tomorrow since I can obtain First T.rax and get there before all the herbs

I think I will show up to Camel to First tracks out the pow tomorrow before the peasants are allowed past the gates.  Think it's to big a risk to park and wait at the Stevie for 7:30?

Damn kicking myself for missing sidewinder, I thought it was closed.  Got my edges sharpened on Sunday and of course hit a rock while making a turn on switchback 🤦‍♂️.  I knew the risks though🤷‍♂️

Ducked the rope at about 940 on Sidewinder.  Both Switch and Side when they were untouched were hard pressed to clip a rock cutting a fresh line but once tracked up got a little sketch.  Such a good day.

    Hit the Burma woods?

Did not touch Burma for fear of getting stuck on the run out.  Did touch plenty woods though.  Every lift line is tracked out now though.
