Nice pictures and pocket beer.  How long was the wait for the snowcat?

Technically 0 minutes. We got there between snow cats so we waited 10 minutes. Well worth it and its free

  2. GSS, the bubble lift is new for this season.  I was reading a magazine about the local ski areas and it mentioned that along with another lift that was upgraded.

Stopped at Highside brewing in Frisco after Copper, which is also pretty new. It was decent, had a tropical milkshake IPA.   Ate dinner at Bakers Brewery in Silverthorne...surf and turf tacos and a stout...fried ice cream for dessert.

Going to Loveland in an hour or so.  Forecast doesn't look great, high winds and chilly.

Is that heated chair new?  I don’t remember riding it last season. It’s cool riding the surface lifts and the old double in the back bowls at Copper.  I’ve had a lot of fun at Copper mountain...I have 9 days total there.  I’ve had a few fun boozy days on the mountain where I’ve stopped for drinks at one of the two mid mountain BBQs..very relaxing low key mountain and like you said huge.  Still some runs I haven’t skied there.  Here’s pictures from a spring day and a pow day last year at copper.

It might be new, I'm not sure.  Copper was awesome they had pretty much everything.  Nice groomers, open bowls, glades and trees. Highlight of the day was definitely the run off the cat in mostly untouched snow.

  4. Got to copper around 10. This place is huge, I keep getting lost. Did some groomers, a few glades, and a long bump run that I ended up on by accident. Also rode the bubble lift which isn't really needed for today.  Supposed to do some runs on the cat in a bit

  5. Heading to Copper in a bit. Today should be good, sunny out and no clouds for now.  Yesterday was flat light most of the day.  I was flying down one of the wide open runs in montezuma bowl and fell pretty hard hitting a bump I didn't see.

Try to get over to the new Beavers lift.  I heard there’s good tree skiing over there.

Beavers was closed but lapped montezuma area and lower east wall. Ended the day with a few beers.  At a brewery in Frisco now

So cool that you got some fishing time. Looks awesome!

Yeah I am gonna try to fish again for a bit later. I'm a total gaper when it comes to trout fishing but it was awesome just being out on the river first thing.

Dropped into the lower east wall just to the right of this picture.  Not too hard core compared to the other hike to stuff but the snow was great.

Damn I was just in PHL as well. Could have had a PASR beer together! Have a great trip - looking forward to the pics!

Damn I would have been in for a beer. Hopefully you're going somewhere fun too.

Have fun..those are all great mountains and crowds should be light.

Thanks, looking forward to it. I'm not looking forward to the late night drive from Denver to Silverthorne but at least traffic should be light

  10. Waiting at PHL airport now, plane boards around 6. Flying into Denver and then staying in Silverthorne.  My buddy from Steamboat is meeting me tomorrow and staying a few days.

Plan is Arapahoe basin tomorrow, Copper Friday, and Loveland Saturday. My Saturday night flight home got canceled so I'm staying in Denver Saturday night and heading home on a 9am flight Sunday.

I'll try to post pics over the next few days and some reports...probably more pics when I get home as I tend to use my camera instead of the phone if I can

    Mmm Breaker...

Had the Minefire Blackberry Jalapeno Ale (I was driving) and the wife had The Land of Hatchy Sorachi IPA last weekend. both are delicious!

Minefire is awesome...I don't think I've really had a bad beer from them, they're easily one of my favorite breweries.

Montage is much more tailgate friendly

True, plus you could stop at Breaker Brewing afterwards if you went to Montage.  Cameltoe has faster lifts, so you could get more runs in there probably...plus it's free

  13. Today was fun...good times and decent snow. Sidewinder was fun despite the bare spots. Nightmare/dream weaver was good too.  Meats and crackers were good, as were the brats from Mike.  Had fun hanging with you guys, looking forward to next season.

    Sincerely,
