  1. Nice! I'm real jealous. It's strange to think of a Tahoe trip w/o Heavenly or Squaw mentioned. I don't blame you for skipping out on one or the other .. maybe to avoid the crowds. But in my humble opinion.. it isn't a trip to Tahoe for me without going to Kirkwood, Squaw, AND Heavenly. Northstar is also a great pick. As for toting around the sister and brother-in-law who aren't that experienced, you should be fine at every resort. They all have their challenging terrain, but plenty of easier areas... cept for Squaw now that I think about it. Their easier areas are kinda all right there by the upper lodge area... and then that long ass trail down to the lower lodge area...
  2. Didn't expect such great conditions after soo much rain. Great to hear. Now if I can only kick this cold in time to head up this weekend...
  3. Haha.. I know I know. I'm the last one to earn my turns like you guys. Fair weather rider imo.
  4. I really don't understand why people continue to bitch about minor things. ALL mountains have pros and cons. If Sno opening not opening midweek-days is such a con... go elsewhere. It's really not that hard of a concept. I own a season pass to Sno, yet still make my way to other mountains to try them out. Now... It honestly makes sense to me why Sno's doing this. For those who've rode midweek during the day.. know it's by far the least busiest time. Until people start coming out of their Autumn season hibernation to get full swing into the ski/snowboard season, it makes perfect business sense for Sno not to throw money into keeping the mountain open for the very select, very few die-hards out there that are taking days off of school/work to go riding. Once January rolls around.. the rest of the skiing and snowboarding population (myself included... total days snowboarding = 0) will finally get the drive to get full swing into the season. Now, for all of you debating on whether we should be happy or not Sno made the effort to open as early as they did.... keep in mind Elk didn't even bother to open in November. It takes a lot of money and effort to get open as early as these local mountains did. If you're not one of the firsts... sometimes it's just cheaper and smarter to not rush things like Elk. I'm happy Sno did push for an early opening.
  5. Meh.. I don't see it that way. It's a positive thing that they're even open this early... and the continuation of a sale doesn't mean things are going poorly.
  6. You got it right. Killebrew & Mott canyons.. Good stuff.
  7. No love for Tahoe? Casino nightlife, sierra snow, and the tons of choices of different mountains keeps our crew coming back.

It's funny how a change of ownership = change in trail priorities. It feels like a decade straight that Montage didn't open Whistler. Now Whistler's one of the first trails to open every year under Sno. holla
  9. Accuweather.com's forecast... looks like we should have plenty of nights for some over-night blowing. Can't wait to get some good coverage and many trails open. Wednesday, Dec 3 Sunshine Low: 35
  10. Jilted lovers... they always come back to haunt you.
  11. Hah.. I have Black Friday off of work.. most likely won't be going shopping. Is that what you have planned?
  12. I'll take a Black Friday opening!
  13. Hell yeah! Hah, for quite a few years in a row they couldn't open till January..
  14. Awesome.. thanks for the update.
  15. Hah.. awesome. Yeah, let me know if you hear back from them. I'm wondering if I should just call.. that way they're forced to address me.
  16. Bueller.. Bueller.. Welp, for anyone else interested, I emailed them my questions yesterday afternoon. I'll let everyone know their answer.
  17. I did a quick search because I remember someone talking about this.. but then I figured this topic probably deserves it's own thread. Has anyone gone the email route for their season pass pictures? I'd like to do this, but I want more details and am too lazy to call them. Does size matter? Background? Can I pose? Last year's season pass was the worst photo evar, but as a guy, we're required not to care enough to ask for a second photo.
  18. Personally, I still outright refuse to believe Ryan when he said he wasn't provided with the resources needed. Snow? There was a SHIT TON of snow on that trail. Tools? So many that he's donating them to Boulder. Pipe groomer? Ok, so that came later, but it was there. Resources as in people? I thought he came with a team. If not, Santa and his crew were always around ready to help. The only thing I know of (and I already admitted I'm not an expert on this subject) that Sno did not provide was dirt work. But the way I look at it is if Sno can build a 22' pipe with snow alone, they can build a few features and hits working with just snow. Again.. how many people have knocked Ryan for never showing up. Not sure what the arrangements were in that contract he signed... Yeah it sucks to not get paid (for 8 months! ouch!)... but if I didn't come into work at my job, I wouldn't get paid either.
  19. danke sir. And for those who hope forecasters are accurate this far in advance.... Accuweather.com's forecast for Scranton, PA: ___________________________________________ Friday, Nov 21 - High: 37
  20. Brian is about to die, needs cold weather badly.
  21. Well, besides the typos and poor grammar, Sno never did release an official statement.. and weren't the ones who started this. So it's not like he needed to come out and defend himself by knocking Sno. Also, the "too bad for us as we will be neck deep in powder" was just a tad cocky... but oh well.. good for him and his crew.
