Making Turns

Making Turns (3/10)

  1. Props on that battleship lib. That thing looks sick. You guys gotta see the rail we're debuting soon in our backyard park. It's a twenty foot teeter totter rail! We installed it yesterday and are just waiting to blow enough snow so we can hit it. I took some pics of it today with my friend's camera so hopefully he'll send them to me so i can post them. We were also working on our 20 foot dragon tail today. Had to cut and weld some feet for it, plasma cutters are the best, haha!
  2. I don't know, that S-rail was set up PERFECT and stayed that way b/c everyone too scared to hit it. It slid beautifully too.
  3. I was hoping to get up to the Z Games on Friday. Will they have a good set up for it? Too bad now I might not make it since I snapped my skis out west on last Saturday. That's the third pair I've snapped in a year. They need to make these damn skis stronger...
  4. Uhhh, kind of, but not really. Christmas itself is the celebration of the birth of Christ (Obviously christian). What is pagan is the symbols and ritual that were combined with this celebration. For example, the X-mas tree is a pagan tradition originating in Germany, as is the practice of hanging wreaths and sprays of pine.
  5. We do, but the parents are covering it also. They call our trips out west my "incentive to do well in school." No good grades equals no ski trip out west.
  6. Hmmm, I'm not saying it's impossible, but I don't think Blue has even a remote chance of beating BC this year. Having skied Blue last year (assuming it hasn't changed all that much) and just skiing BC on Friday they would have a looooooot of work to do, starting with a lot more jibs and better set up. I'm not trying to become a PAsucks iwith respect to BC vs MC, but BC itself has stepped it this year. Their new jump line is pretty monstous with 50 foot+ landings and that U-box is sooooooooo fun. This challenge is good though, b/c both parks will benefit.
  7. That's what I thought last year, but when I went, I thought, "What a waste of some good equipment." Hopefully this year Shawnee will surprise me... In a good way.
  8. Haha, I've got my Public Enemies for twins, but still, I don't believe ANY twin tip can come close to touching the response and feel of a well-made non-park oriented ski. Just ask Lurker. He always comments on the huge change in my skiing onces I strap on the 5-stars in exchange for the PE's.
  9. Yeah, epoxy works well. Sometimes for smaller chips I'll just use superglue to seal them.
  10. Referring the the Marker 12's, I have a pair of Marker Piston Titanium 1200s on a set of Volkl 5 Stars. I've used them in some most wicked terrain you can find and have yet to have them release when I didn't want them to. From your signature, I see you've got Superspeeds. Is that what replaced the 6 Stars this year?
  11. Lurker and I leave for Vail the day after X-mas. It's gonna be soooooo crowded, though still amazing skiing with how much snow they've been getting.
  12. *Chokes and gags* Guys come on! Stop bringing me down, haha! This could make a great early season nearly perfect. My stomach has this really good antsy feeling in it aftering thinking about a day off school and spent at CB with fresh pow.
  13. I would have to agree with skidude, Mark is the best. He's saved me and my skis a couple times, as well as hooked us up with free skis to build a snow bike, haha.
  14. We have some friends that we ride with from the Loft. Not regularly, but sometimes. We know Pete DuBois, and Eric (don't know his last name) who both work there. I was actually just up there this afternoon talking to them. They were over riding last night.
  15. NS guys are out for blood no matter what sport.... That's why I joined here.
