  1. Actually, that title goes to Sunday River. They already opened. Apparently they have been first in the east three years in a row now. Oh yeah, greetings from my new home in the Catskills.
  2. Wow..that's and awesome and very detailed explanation. Way to dig into the details. So here's to hoping for a good cold spell in late October. :-)
  3. I actually can't remember when it opened last year. I just know that it was like Thanksgiving or before.
  4. 13 miles...now there's an endurance test.
  5. Out of curiosity. Whats the average length of the trails at Sno? How long is the longest? How does that compare to other mountains like CB or ELK?
  6. Hey Guys, I just scored myself an Arbor Wasteland for 269 bucks. Its normally like 500+. There seem to be quite a few good deals on sierrasnowboard.com. You might want to check it out.
  7. I have two daughters 4 and 6. We decided that 3000sqft (current house) wasnt necessary, and instead we would prefer more land and less house.
  8. Yeah were going to be building something like 1800 sq ft. Currently looking at land
  9. maybe/maybe not....just look at the sub prime mess with houses. Peeps buy waaaaaay more than they can afford.
  10. I agree with you. New England is going to get hit hard. However, don't underestimate how much gas most peoples Expeditions take on a 60-70 mile drive from the city
  11. Yeah gas prices are going to hurt the resorts this year. Indirectly food and heating fuels are going to as well. Since they will suck up more disposable income that folks would normally spend on tickets, etc. Julie (wife) and I considered CB passes this year but now were thinking buddy passes to Shawnee since its uber close to home and then spend the rest of the money on tickets to jfbb. We had Shawnee passes last year and found it really good for those of us with little rugrats who are just learning.
  12. I'll take 2. Do you accept AMEX? :-)
  13. i cleaned and waxed my Ride Control and my wifes Arbor Stance today. Decided that I really like Arbors and found an Arbor Draft on clearance for like 200 bucks so I picked it up. Should be fun. Maybe some Union Forces to go with it.
  14. I sure know I am. The wife and I did good all last month, but now we've started breaking out the Warren Miller, Standard Snowboarding movies. Basically were jonesing for some snow and a steep hill :-)
  15. Yea I will need to change my name...so far i've had 36 days on the snow this year. Shawnee was good, however both my wife and I agree that we need something with more terrain next year. I spent most of the season at Shawnee with the occaisional jaunt to Camelback and Sno. I also hit Copper (Colorado), Stratton (Company Ski Trip), and Northstar at Tahoe. Definitely a whirlwind season. It's amazing how much I've learned. I could barely stay up on the board at the beginning of the season and now both my wife and I are riding rails and hitting small kickers. It's sad to see the season starting to end.
  16. They were indeed making snow today and the people in the office ( i was there to pick up my $99.00 March Pass) said they are determined to stay open until the end of March. Here's to hoping.
  17. Will it only apply to an unlimited pass? Or can I apply it to a Sunday through Friday pass too?
  18. I doubt they are custom unless they are below 90cm. We have a 90cm Burton Chiclet for my year old
  19. Was there on Sunday and Monday and conditions were pretty good. The guns were going non-stop on a ton of trails. It got icy toward the end of the day but thats to be expected with all the city peeps showin up. Try: CountryClub > Pocohontas>Lower Delaware Bennekill>Kitatinny>Lower Bushkill Any of the open blacks Its fun there. I just wonder if they will ever open more trails?
  20. It was like 3 in the afternoon until 5 so i guess broaching on night. Icy snow is ok, but this more like and Ice Cube. Some of the trails had very little cover. But yes, I will learn to ride on everything it does make a better rider. I just cant believe the disparity in conditions. In comparison, I did several weekend night sessions at Boulder and while there was defintely ice, it wasnt like riding down a solid block of ice As a matter of fact. The first turn I ever linked was at Boulder at about 6:30 - 7:00 on a Saturday night a few weeks ago.
