  1. Food was great, Thanks Sno for pass holder day, we even got a free pass to sno cove when it opens. It's looking like everyone's lost interest in the mountain on pasr. I know there gonna try to open next week, there's still a huge base on a lot of nf but the rest of the mountain is getting very very thin.
  2. This sunday, 3-6, Sno grill, free drink, food. Who is going? Ohh by the way, conditions last night were great great great! lightning deeeeeep carving. I didn't go anywhere else but nf. plus, I know there trying to open next weekend but I doubt it, this may be the last weekend there open! get your ass up there.
  3. I guess it wasn't. someone stopped to look at how low the light was and I said something to him.
  4. parking lots pretty empty if I were you I'd get here now Omg it's so nice out you should wear shorts I am
  5. I said screw work, I'll be up there by 9 green pants and idk maybe a yellow hoodie. robably on skis
  6. cheech was that you standing at the top of lightning looking at that pathetic light last night? If it was I was the guy in the brown coat. Lights are still out on spike. I guess they just gave up for the season or something.
  7. Get'em fitted custom, you'll only regret it for 3 weeks of using them, (They'll hurt pretty bad) then you'll be happy, they'll be amazing. usually boot fitters (Good ones) drop you 2-3 sizes from your shoe, I'm a 12 shoe and he put me in a 9 ski boot.
  8. Ya'll lol I have work till 10am but I can get there by 11 if I have the motivation. speaking of motivation. I joined a gym, planet fitness. Its pretty sick. Anyone else go there? (The one in greenridge plaza) Weather wise it looks like its gonna be OK until 2.
  9. let that be a good example that first impressions are sometimes wrong.
  10. no offense to people who are strapped for cash but buying the cheapest gear is stupid. I'm all for a great sale but I strongly believe that cheap gear holds you back. mittens suck. cold hands? ride harder and get bigger coat so your sleeves cover most of your hands. I use pipe gloves all year even in single digit temps. btw I got to the parking lot had the banana with the ride delta's and the alp with the flows, took it out of the car, looked at it, and swapped the flow's out for the delta's I just couldn't go back to those pieces of shit. first had my stance about 15 5 got a little comfortable, then went 15 15, then about 20 15, got confident on a double black carved hard on the heal and went down due to heal drag, slid my ass down about 200 ft, finially spun around on my ass dug the heal in and rode away before I came to a stop, I was like woh noooo good... I'm gonna have to get the hard bindings. but now I know why alpine board's are not that popular, it was fun for 2 runs then got kind of boring. regardless of how much I'm gonna use it, I wanted to try it and It looks awesome so It'll look great in my room. It wasn't a waste.
  11. I recommend it if you want one board to do it all. but I would wait till next year at this point to see what they advance on, this was only there 2nd year on the deck, I'm sure they're gonna improve on the tech. my complaint is the base, it seems to not take wax as well as my other boards/ski's Its really weird actually, its like it needs another coat but it doesn't. What's nice is there is no metal edge on the nose and tail so you cant catch, or fuck up your car if you load it in there that way. There are a ton of other RC boards out there though, I haven't tried anything else, but as far as I know, Lib tech pioneered it. plus there made in America and with times like these I think It's a good idea to buy domestic.
  12. This is the top of lightning, notice the light up high broke and is missing, they replaced it with a new white one about 10ft off the ground.
  13. ya, the speed entry was my reasoning for getting flows 3 years ago but after going to ride deltas, the buckles on the new rides are so quick there is almost no difference. I can strap in standing up pretty much everywhere. And If I'm by my self I strap in on the lift which is super tough in the flows. So in most cases standard bindings are more convient, lighter and faster. Stance is 15 -13 I changed the alpine to 15 15 after doing a little carpet boarding
  14. I'm gonna try the flow's, I know... Flow's suck, but there just laying around and they are pretty stiff. also speedy entry/exit for a speedy deck... (Yeh that was lame) Plus the 32 primes are pretty stiff already. both bindings are set at 30, anyone have any recomendations? I'm just guessing at this point. I've never ridden a forward stance like this. I cant wait to ride this, it should be an experience. It kinda reminds me of a slalom ski (water skiing) I can do that too so... I should pick it up pretty fast Like I said, if anyone wants to try it I'll be happy to let them, just PM me and meet me at Sno. I'll be up tomorrow afternoon and sunday morning.
  15. Yeh, the website's so sad me and cheech can agree on something... Its bad.
  16. cheech they actually replaced the light at the top of lightning, Its great now, lightning is probably the best lit trail on NF, boomer had a big problem at the top but they repaired one of two (I think) first headwall on smoke has the light you can see from the lift, that one goes out sometimes but I believe its on 70% of the time. right sides of smoke and boomer are pitch dark.
  17. Uhh yeah, NEWS FLASH lightning hasn't been groomed in 3 weeks, the groomed symbol is on it (And its becoming more amazing every night so don't!) There is no rail garden next to the magic carpet, there hasn't been one there in almost 2 months! its Thursday, long haul has been closed since sunday, hey convent because they don't have to change it tomorrow night! If your not going to update your condition's daily, the least you can do is date your report so you are not misleading your customers. there websites like a broken clock, its right 2 times a day... (or in this case a year)
  18. Look I went overboard with that post, I'm sorry, I just want things to get fixed. I don't know if Sno actually neglected the lights, for all I know they could have had electricians try to fix them. I'm sick of trying to do it this way, Sno guys, If you would like me to be productive and answer questions you may need from a customers POV email me at Davieclauss@yahoo.com What's good for your business is good for my skiing experience and if we work together I think everyone can be happy.
  19. Dime if your saying i'm wrong please correct me, glen said more air, Each Gun at sno has its own air compressor, thats a fact, the fan guns have vein pumps and the vikings have piston compressors. Besides that the snow makers at sno are doing an amazing job, any ice is pretty much because of skier traffic, the groomers on the other hand could be better, but there not that bad. Regardless, This is about the lights! I felt bad about posting those pics, after who ever sno rider is explained the situation. but then I realized, the lights sucked there first season, sucked even more last year, and are absolutely horrible this season, they have been horrible since opening, I don't know if its the balasts in those lights but that tower had 2 out of 8-10 lights working all year, they NEED TO BE REPLACED!!! now they all go out and ohh now lets call an electrician? are you serious? thats just major neglect, just with every other trail on the mountain, hmm, pick any trail on NF and I'll tell you several major problems or lights that go on and off randomly, and then when they do replace/add lights, they only put them up about 10ft off the ground! I do have to give them credit for the effort, but they're wasting there time, anyone ever drive past CB? the whole mountain is lit up perfectly! someone find a pic and post it Look, people still get the impression of montage and how shitty the conditions were, especially at night, death cookies, ice, I wasn't there much before it was sno but all the memories I have were ICE. People look up at that mountain from the highway and the valley and see the same mountain, I guarantee, replacing all those lights PROPERLY!!! would add some serious business to the place and would defiantly pay for its self in night ticket sales.
  20. This is gonna be fast BUT From what I heard they ALWAYS NEED 5 pumps under normal snow making conditions to get up to pressure. Each gun has its own compressor I'm sorry but your underestimating me, I've made my own snow machine using an air compressor, pressure washer, brass fittings, check out snow at home I copied off that. it was very effective. I can take a picture of it if you want. I know all about how it works, wet bulb temp, nucleation, the whole 9 yards. I gave up on it because it was very time consuming for where I live, plus I have a freeken mountain to ski at. regardless. I know more than most people on here.
  21. let us know what you thought, BTW the speech was decent.
  22. super short Lightning was the best I've ever seen it, if you didn't go up because you thought the weather sucked you missed out big time, go ahead kick yourself. I clocked myself on my iPhone's GPS and I hit max speed of 49.5 on smoke, someone tell me if this is fast for ski's boomer and smoke, both great, they must have blown last night and it stayed cold throughout the day, it was better tonight than 8:30 sunday morning. upper stuff, mainline, headwalls icy like normal but thats expected, spike, still dark
  23. extra pumps make a shit ton of sense when it delays progress when one goes down. REGARDLESS we had a great season, and still (Hopefully) a full month left!
