hit dragonfire, mittle wig, and bunny schuss to round out the day. left at 3 pm. it was cold.
Winter is back. The snow was in really good shape thanks to the cold temps. BB is in prime condition.

That's got to be the longest post about lockers in the history of the internet. R2 I didn't read all of that but are you saying that you never made it out on to the snow because of lockers?

Back from Homewood...all I have to say is...
Homewood is THE SHIT!!!!
Best snow EVER, DEEPEST snow EVER!!!
TOO Deep for me in a ton of spots... Even the groomer runs had a foot of fresh on top of them by days end.
The one downside was that it was snowing wet today all day so it got real heavy as the day went on, and it was just dumping all day long.
Knee deep in cement isn't fun for me, or David.. I am simply too heavy to float in that deep of wet snow.
I need to go so fast that my legs can't handle it to keep on top of it and anywhere where I can't stop now and then for my legs to recover lead to me sinking and having to find ways to get back on top. What can I say, I'm a fat out of shape guy and for me there is such a thing as too deep.
I took my firstbloods today having NO IDEA what it would be like there. This made the snow at Kirkwood look like a heavy dusting.
There weas simply deep snow everywhere. It's definitely smaller than a lot of the other areas I've been to, but with the snow they had there and NOONE there it is a serious gem if the conditions are the way we found them today normally. I mean WOW... Deep doesn't even describe it good enough.
Homewood has some crappy traverses with some uphills that kinda sucked as the day went on and they got covered over. Other than thay, there is no downside to it.
Do not get me wrong, I did not have a bad time. I struggled in the change your life deep snow no doubt, but there was SOOO much snow everywhere it was basically pick a spot how deep do you want to go. I like the boot deep stuff and can somewhat hang in the knee deep... anything deeper than that was sink city..
pics coming if this internet connection will allow it..
Sounds like an epic freakin' day...awesome.

Good deal but I don't want to use a vacation day for Jackson frost.
Mid-week at JF is worth it.

Southwest... bags fly free...
Like I said... BALLER STYLE Yo!!
3 MORE DAYS...stoked for you man.
-
The hobaks looks like they'd have my legs screaming.
-
PC as you know there is no other way to ski Vader other than BALLER style.
I wish our wipeouts were caught on camera today. I missed yours (jfskidan where were you with the camera) and I have no idea how I recovered from mine...which I thought was a certain yardsale courtesy of Vader; but I miraculously ended up back on my skis.
PC have fun in Tahoe. We'll see you next month.

Much as I like JF, I have to admit you are right. Pretty short. The challenge is just taking that first step off the top into the steepest part of the slope. After the first turn or two, its all about controlling your speed so you don't hit the crudish bottom going too fast.
You can always make the run longer by skiing the Elevator Glade and right on down to the Elevator without stopping in between.
-
As if there aren't enough shots of Elevator...
You're right. We need some video of the Elevator (Thanks to JFSkiDan for his camera skills). Here I am making my way down it a few weeks ago - not my best form
-
PC I'm excited for you man!! Ski some powder for the JF crew!
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You do know that I was kidding when I said 90 mph right?
-
Nice report does the elevator have a smooth runout if you were to straightline it???
Yeah it flattens out at the bottom and it's smooth. I wouldn't straight run it. You may be doing 90 mph by the time you get to the bottom.

Hey all,
Just back from a wonderful afternoon session at Jackson Frost. I skied with my Brother who was out on the snow for the first time in two years. We pulled up to the lot under blue skies and sunshine. We decided to make our first run down Lehigh then over to Exhibition to warm up. The snow was the famous JFBB Packed Powder / cold smoke - excellent. We headed over through the gateway to East Mt and up the East Mt Lift for a Elevator Glade to Elevator Combo. My Brother was impressed with how steep Vader is. He stayed out of the Elevator Glade since he was a bit rusty but skied Vader successfully, which BTW is very skiable...the edges had no problem on it for the most part. The right (skier's right), not as steep side, of the Elevator has bumps forming and the steeper left side is flat for the most part - definitely more challenging if you enter it from the left side.
We moved on to the Challenge glade which is a leg burner if you make the short turns through the bumps / trees. We headed back over to East Mt for a run on Floyd's and back to the Elevator / E-Glade until almost closing time. Floyd's is really good right now. Overall it was another great day at JFBB.
Elevator Glade..
Elevator from the top...can't see the bottom!
Challenge Glade...
The sun sets on the Elevator...Another Great day.
