Hello! We hope everyone had a great winter! Not a lot of snow here in the Mid-Atlantic, but the weather held out for a decently long season. Now that most of the areas have closed in the USA, Park 1260 is getting ready for another awesome season of summer park. Our first rail jam is coming up on May 17th at 5:00 PM, and I have included the schedule of events below. We will not be building any new features this season, instead we will be concentrating on improving the park as a whole. If you have any suggestions on how we can make things better, please let us know! As always, we are looking for woodchips... like many many tons!! If you have not been to Park 1260, visit www.twelve60.com to download the required form. The girls camps tend to be a little older in average age. I would say for last weekend it was around 25 or so. Thanks -

This camp was a last minute project, so we do not have anything up on the site at this time. We are also in the process of desgining a page that you can "meet" the coaches. The regular site is Switch Academy @ MC South. You can also visit our new group on FaceBook, most of our coaches and some current students are all members, just search for Switch Academy. -
Switch Academy at Mountain Creek South is having an all girls mini camp on February 7th, 2009. This camp was developed to help skiers and snowboarders excel in the park and pipe. You do not need any park experience to get started, but you must be able to ski or ride in control on all the trails at MC. The camp runs on Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM. The cost is $69 and INCLUDES your lift ticket for the event!! Please contact me for more information. Oh, yes... all the coaches for this camp are female.

Switch Academy is having holiday park and pipe camps on MLK and Presidents weekends. These camps are designed for skiers and snowboarders who want to excel in the park. You must be a solid skier or snowboarder to enter, however you do not need any park experience to get started. We can accomidate park abilities from beginner on up. The camps start 9:00 AM and run until 3:00 PM, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The price is $139 for all 3 days! January 17/18/19 & February 14/15/16 2009 Switch Academy also offers daily drop-in sessions that run $39 for 1.5 hours and a season long program that runs $525. and the best graphics of them all... not to mention the killer bindings Special deal for PASR members... $349, come pick them up! -
I have a pair of awesome park skis for sale. They are 4FRNT STL (Steele Spence Pro Model), 167cm Long, 106mm Tip, 78mm Waist, 98mm Tail, Ptex sidewalls, super light, soft flex. They have real PIVOT heel bindings from Look, the Titanium model (super light), DIN 3.5-12. The bindings are mounted at Steele's setting, which is a little back from center. They are mounted for a 24.5 boot, but will adjust out to fit a 26.5. Asking price is $379 plus shipping. Of course the item can be picked up for no shipping costs. Can also be picked up at Mountain Creek in NJ or Blue Mountain in PA. They have just been tuned and are in excellent condition, maybe 10 days total on the package!

Wow, this season really seems to be starting off on the right foot for once. This is probably the first year ever that BM, CB, BB, and BC will be open on the day after Thanksgiving! Not to mention Killington, MT Snow, Stratton, and more. So I do not see much room for a 1260 Jam/Comp on 11/28 as previously scheduled. If you were still planning on attending, let me know and maybe we can do something in the evening. Thanks for a great season! 1260

Thanks! Yeah, beleive it or not it did not rain for the whole event. It rained a little right around 5 PM and then again at around 10 PM. In between it was nice and dry. We did get some snow, enough at least to build the lips.
-
At this time, that is the plan. Trying to get some snow though.
-
Damn, which day? Are they going to have enough snow to do it? at some point, yes... Hopefully the rain will hold off and we can enjoy the evening, but if a tornado comes in we will have to call it.
-
Usually the day after is really hard to re-schedule to, especially if it is a Sunday. I may try to do one next Sat if enough people are interested. As for today, we are going to give it a try. I would probably not drive 2 hours to get out here, but if you live within an hour it may be worth giving it a try. Still not raining here.
-
Still a good possibility, not raining here. Wish I knew if anyone else was thinking about coming out or not. Still a good possibility, not raining here. Wish I knew if anyone else was thinking about coming out or not.

Without the snow or more wood chips, there is no lip at all. We built it for the jam to need 8" of snow to mach the rail. I guess one might be able to ollie up on to it each time...
-
Not raining too hard at this time. Weather reports still say that we are going to be getting more rain. What is the general thought out there, are you planning on coming or thinking about ditching it? Remember that we will need snow, without we have no box lip.
-
It is not raining at the moment. The Accueweather hourly show rain until 5, then cloudy till 6, then rain till late. It is hard to really tell what is going to happen. I will check back in at 3pm. If it is only showers or cloudy we may be able to continue. We will need some snow for the box though, as we have none right now.
-
You should wear a helmet. Especially if you are new to the carpet skiing.
-
As long as it is not really crappy we will still have the jam. A small amount of rain will just help the sliding all that more. Plus is is supposed to be like 60 or so.
-
There are easy directions from Blue Mountain on www.twelve60.com.

Thanks for the props guys, we have been trying to make improvements on a regular basis. Thanks for the pics Justin!
