This weekend CB had like 120 new trails. It was like being out west. I never skiied on so much powder on the east coast before. Probably never see conditions like that again. I was going up the Sullivan and some tools were trying to ski and ride down the alpine slide and they kept hitting the sides and wiping out. Lucky they didn't literally bust their heads open. The funny part was that were so many places to go off trail where nobody could see you that you had to wonder why anyone would be dumb enough to do it right under the lift. Nile Mile and Bactrian had some nice kickers left over from Saturday. Saw some people catching some sick air. All the usual places where people go off the trail were tracked up and there were tons of tracks anywhere there wasnt a fence blocking the way. Rocket got closed early Saturday because it was ungroomed and just a total mess from what I heard. It was still closed on Sunday. They kept Asp ungroomed on Sunday and it was pretty interesting. Saw the pond skimming and that was ok. Anyone with pictures of that please post them. Overall the grooming was excellent, the crowds were somewhat light and the snow was phenomenal!! Dude you have to get out west!! They have conditions like that most of the season. You would love it.

Just to be fair I actually agree with this. It must be a cold day in hell or something. The hill has to try to cut it's losses. When you have the chance to make a bunch of money from bus trips that come during the week then it's got to be hard to close. Yes they already have the season passholder money but that's not enough to cover costs for the whole year. And BTW there are a lot of people that go to Blue and CB since they are not that far apart. We have already violated your slopes with our CB loving selves.

I have no issue with people just plain complaining. It's the people who obvioulsy hate CB and have nothing better to do than continuously have to hijack the forum with their rants. Then when people who like the hill have issue with that it is dismissed blindly. Way to be fair. There are a lot of people who are not employees or volunteers or have no official position with CB that like the place. They are attacked for defending it from the haters. Like I'm surprised. Welcome to PASR. Come to the Camelback forum and say anything negative you want about Camelback and you are applauded. I'm sure if I was going into Blue or JF/BB forums and taking up all the threads with nonsensical crap like bogus marketing it would be a different story. Way to run a board!

The problem I have is that whenever there is a thread about conditions at CB then all the haters have to start their rants about the park or whatever. If you want to point out a specific feature sucks then go for it. Everyone doesn't need to hear for the 5000th time that because the park isn't as good as other places that CB doesn't care. You are totally wrong on that one. I'm not there every day but when I do go I post. Sometimes I see someone eles was up there the same day and if I have anything to add to their report I will. BTW I don't just post in the CB forum so if you looked for my posts you would find them. I'm not going to do the cut and paste of every post I ever made. It's OK to take over a conditions thread with whining but call someone on starting a hater thread and that's fine. No kidding!!!!

I was there too on Saturday all day and night and it wasn't as bad as I expected. Sunday was busier. For as busy a weekend it was the surface held up pretty well. There is an earlier thread here about why Cliff is a double black. If I remember correctly it may be because of the racing designation or something like that.

EXACTLY!!!!! On most boards the mods wouldn't let you go so far but since bashing CB is the trend here you get away with it. It's a shame a decent board like this one has be ruined by tools like you.

Get your iron warmed up to temp. Take the side of the wax bar and barely scrape the iron with the bar until it starts to soften. Start at one end of the ski and quickly rub the warmed up edge of the bar onto the base and rub it on really thick for a few inches. When wax stops rubbing on then reheat and do a section farther down the ski. You will wind up with overlapping patches of crayoned on wax. Take your iron and move it rather quickly down the length of the ski a bunch of time to even out the wax and to get it to soak in. When it is a fairly even layer then you should be able to let it cool. If you have been waxing for a while and you don't use that much wax then this will seem like a lot. It won't go to waste though.

Yep I tried it again and used more wax and it lasted much better. And DON'T use any F4 or glidewax over it. It will slow the skis down. I had to find out the hard way.

How is starting a thread like this not trolling?? He's just looking for haters. Admittedly he has nothing nice to say about CB and only goes there because he lives nearby. His attitude detracts from anything constructive. The fustration just comes from having to read the same gripes when I just want to see how the snow is holding up and what the runs/features look like. Actually I don't have a great time every time I'm at the mountain. I have to put up with the same conditions and I still have to drive 2 hours to get there. I'm just as pissed as everyone else when the lifts close because of the weather or that the hill doesn't tell everyone that it closes the Stevenson side early. I do like the mountain though and have learned that there really are people that care about giving customers a good experience. Just because people don't see results as soon as they mention someting doesn't mean that the ski area doesn't care. There are hundreds of issues to be addressed each day. Rome wasn't built in a day. CB is trying and I have seen some changes and have heard of some really excellent things coming to the hill. It's just going to take a while and even then it may not be what some people want. I understand this site started because of some censorship at ridecb. Granted there probably is some bad feelings because of it. Maybe that explains why anyone who actually likes the mountain is looked at funny and why all the bashing is encouraged. Thanks for the chat.

Glen OK so I have to igonre his idiotic posts like this one and you want to censor me?? This guy has gone way past making his point. He's a blatant hater and It looks like the only opinions you tolerate in the CB forum are the ones that bash CB. After all every thread gets filled with CB bashing from the same group of people. It is not constructive or informative at this point. Believe it or not I don't even have any animosity towards the guy. I just want to be able to look at a conditions thread without having to weed through all this bashing and personal whining. People need to accept the fact that CB is not operated the same way as BB/JF, Blue or MC. They do some things better and some things worse. Each mountain has its own setup and ways of running things. I can spend all day on here whining about the things I don't like in the forums of each mountain incessantly and never run out of material. I honestly was hoping this message board would be a good place to find out what the ongoing conditions are in the Pocanos on a daily basis. Ideally both from the mountain reps and the customers. So much for that idea. The mounain reps can't even report on daily conditions without the thread turning into a whinefest.

I get your point. How about doing something about the blatant trolling. My comments point out all the non stop bitching whenever somebody has something nice to say about CB. Everyone has heard his whining about CB mgmt to no end. He says nothing new and fills up every thread with garbage. All he does is attack CB and anyone that likes the place. That's ok???? If he chills I will. Take a look and you will notice that there are quite a few others that feel the same as I do. Tell him to stay in the Blue or BB forum if all he wants to do is bash CB.

The are 4 rows of big, tight bumps going down skiers right on Rocket. It looked really cool from the base. The one thing that bothered me was that the tops of the bumps were really conical. I guess they were expecting a lot of boarders to come down and chop the tops off. The lines are really tight and you better be ready to scream down. I think after they blow some more snow they will be better. Hopefully they will keep them. It will be nice to see how they are next weekend.

Read it and weep you loser hater douchenozzle They expanded the advanced park into another run and are bumping up an advanced run. See what happens if you give them a chance. No you would rather continue the personal whinefest and trolling for CB haters. I hope they make it so the park is only open from 7-8PM and you have to pay $50 a run to go down. Then they close the lift at 7:30 just to piss you off. It would be even better if they removed the requirement for park passes and every noob from the tri state area is in there laying in front of all the approaches and in the landings talking on their cell phones. Waaaah waaah waaah CB doesn't care about the park or advanced riders. They only care about lureing noobs from the city with their bogus marketing!! waaaahhhh Idon't like it booo hooo hoooo It isn't fairrrr waaahhhhh On the side thread there: I can kind of understand how the park may open an hour later and close an hour earlier than the rest of the mountain. They do have a lot of work to do. If logistically possible then they probably should have it open with the rest of the mountain. Maybe the system currently in place doesn't allow that, I don't know. Definately something to be looked at by mgmt.

I was afraid of that. I was hoping that they could do at least SOME bump grooming on the blacks. Yeah those winds get whippin up there and it's like you are being sandblasted. Especially at the top of Asp or Hump. I was wondering how the snow was with all that sleet mixed in? Thanks!!! BB also has the bar open late and they get some good music there. I know some people who go up there just for that.
