Hello Everyone,

Unfortunately we will have to postpone the comp scheduled for this Sunday 9/21/8. This is due to a recently evolved schedule conflict. There is a possibility that may be able to put a small jam together after it gets dark, but I will not know until later on Sunday. In the meantime we have revised the schedule of events for the rest of the season.

[2008 REVISED SCHEDULE OF EVENTS]

Sun 10/05 @ 5pm - "A RAIL COMP", come out and compete on the 24' A-frame

Sun 10/19 @ 6pm - "BOXTOBER" JAM, nothing but boxes at this jam

Sat 10/25 @ 7pm - "UNDER THE LIGHTS" JAM, we have plenty of lights for this one

Sun 11/02 @ 4pm - "HALLOWEEN COMP", 2nd annual Halloween competition

Sat 11/15 @ 5pm - "SNOWVEMBER" JAM, work on new tricks & join our snow dance around the fire

Fri 11/28 @ 3pm - "T-DAY COMP", 4th annual Thanksgiving event and competition

Sat 12/06 @ 6pm - "EMERGENCY" JAM, just in case we are not as lucky as 2007

Sun 12/14 @ 2pm - "JONES" JAM, we will really really need this one if we still do not have snow!

Thanks

PARK 1260

  • 2 weeks later...

Oh, also... if you are in the area and you have access to rink-snow or wood chips, try and bring some up. All donations from this event are going towards our new feature coming out later this month!

Is the actual comp starting at 5? Can we come earlier to just mess around first?

People will start showing up at around 5pm, we will not start the comp until around 7pm. Most people tend to show up late.

can anyone come? what are these like?

Pretty much, yes. They are a lot of fun. Sliding on the carpet is different, but you get used to it pretty quick.... usually quicker for skiers than snowboarders.

Good times, good turnout. It was nice to see some old faces as well as a bunch of new ones. Next jam is in 2 weeks, we are trying hard to get the new box done by then. If anyone has a line on some wholesale prices on industrial plastics, let me know. We are looking for a 4x8' or 4x10' sheet of UHMW either 3/8" or 1/2" thick.

As always, we are in desperate need of wood chips... from one bag to 50 tons!

They give you a discount for advertising their logo on your website. I don't think they sell UHMW in big sheets like that though.
