rummy Posted September 21, 2009 Report Share Posted September 21, 2009 I spent some quality time drinking beer and listening to good old rock and roll at Chet's Place this weekend -- 18th annual Frontier Days. While in the area, I noticed a 3-4 acre pond being built near Elk, to tie into the existing snow-making ponds. It looked to be about 40' deep too. Should provide another good source of water for the guns. No word yet of season pass prices yet. I can't believe they don't have any word out yet... Posted September 23, 2009 Report Share Posted September 23, 2009 I've always wondered how scarce the water supply is at Elk and whether or not that is the reason that early season output is so much slower there than at other area resorts despite their temperature advantage. I know that their trails are wider and "longer", but they usually start making snow before everyone else but only open their solid 4-5 trails. Im always hoping that they can increase output...
