I have 2 questons, my first is how steep of a hill do you need to carpet board, i have an 8 foot long bench and wanna be able to use it. My second queston is how long does the snow last if you get it from an ice rink, cus i wanna try it but i dont wanna waste my time if im going to get like 3 hits on my bench.

i'd suggest laying down some carpet or tarp under the ice rink shavings so as they begin to melt you wont hit mud and rocks, but it will probably last like 2-4 hours, or even longer than that

you might want to wax the bench so you slide easyer

Just try and get the shortest strand carpet you can find. Pile snow on top of that so when it melts you at least still have something underneath it.

If you're just going with carpet, which you can do, then depeding on the angle you have it at you might need to wet it down to get speed.
